We had the bottomless Prosecco afternoon tea and it was lovely.
The Prosecco was Chapel Down so not a cheap one and the guy serving us was brilliant. We were kept topped up throughout the whole lunch and he was always smiling and polite.
I had the County Hall tea which was delicious. They don’t seem to serve the tea with milk, but it didn’t need it.
The sandwiches were nice and the scones delicious. The cakes were too much for us so we were given a box to take them home.
We left three hours later, full up, fully “refreshed” and wobbled out to look at the London Eye nearby. Great afternoon.
An excellent setting for afternoon tea . Sandwiches and scones good . Cakes average
Service good and the setting overlooking the river is perhaps the best bit
We very much enjoyed our afternoon tea in the Library at the Marriott County Hall. The Library is a perfect venue overlooking the Thames and beautifully decorated.
We were very well looked after by our charming and friendly waitress and the food was quite delicious especially the crayfish roll and the homemade lemon curd for the basil scone. I would have bought some if it had been on sale
It was good and food was nice.
We had a lovely table at the window overlooking the river, so if you can book a window table I suggest you do. We had free flowing sparkling wine and we never had to ask to be topped up, they just kept the glasses full the whole time! The food was lovely and plentiful. The staff were very friendly and attentive. I regularly have afternoon tea and I would recommend this as one of the best.
Lovely , relaxed Afternoon Tea.
Service very attentive without being over bearing.
Great selection of sandwiches, scones and cakes
Lovely view of River Thames
A fab afternoon all round
Outstanding in every way, wonderful service, food, and ambience.
Lovely setting to have afternoon tea. Once seated service dwindled through our two hour time slot. Tea was not as hot as I’d like and when I asked for more tea none appeared. Sandwiches and scones were wonderful.
Only marked down for the following reason; at time of reserving our table, we were quoted a price of £55 for the dining package we chose per person (advertised price). On the day, the package had rose to £65 per person without any warning or alert. Very enjoyable however; food was delicious as was the champagne.
Superb food and the surroundings were very special. Atmosphere was somewhat lacking but that was simply a consequence of not having many customers.
A shame that rather than maximise on the views, tables are set up so that some will always have their back to the river (rather than all being side on). Such luxurious surroundings somewhat let down by the bathrooms which were a bit of a dichotomy to the Library - dirty with cheap metal toilet paper and soap dispensers.
12.5% service charge automatically added which is not unusual for London but should be made clear on the Website when booking.
Despite those niggles though, we had a good time and enjoyed the food.
Loved this place. Very classy and the service was amazing. Very attentive and friendly. The view was amazing and we had the best time celebrating a belated 60th for my mum. Would highly recommend going here for afternoon tea.
Fantastic attentive service from Gareth who could not have looked after our little 21st birthday party any better. He made it a lovely occasion. Delicious food, spectacular view and a great memory. Thank you.
Gareth served us throughout our experience and what a pleasant, interesting young man he was. He was polite, attentive and knowledgeable about the teas and food and made our experience very special. For one so young I was amazed at his professionalism and his brilliant service. Well done Gareth! He is an absolute asset to the establishment and as a regular visitor, I do hope we get to be served by him again.
It was a lovely experience! Would definitely recommend and come again
My friends and I go out once a month for afternoon tea. We have been to the Library on many occasions. We only go back if everything is very good to excellent. We thought the sandwiches were outstanding along with the basil scones with lemon curd - what an interesting and delicious idea. We also enjoy the chance to see and select our teas via the tea box although some of the tea labels were difficult to read.
A very pleasant afternoon with excellent views of the Thames were enjoyed by all. We will return!
I’ve been here for afternoon tea a few times but this time I felt like the food and service had gone downhill. I needed a vegan afternoon tea and they brought the wrong cream, etc and only corrected it on the third time of asking. The toilets were disgusting too. Such a shame as I’m not sure I’ll ever go back again now.
Booked months ago and did not have a window seat so no real view. Had an issue with a voucher and was told it would be added to my booking - it was not. Thankfully I brought email evidence.
3 sandwiches and one tiny roll is not really value for money. Way too many cakes. Waitress seemed surprised we asked for more tea.
One of the ledges near the books was absolutely covered in dust - this was very close to another table near the window. You could see this had been there for a long time as there was so much of it - not good for a central London venue.
Would not return or recommend. Plenty of nicer places in London for afternoon tea. Considering we paid almost £60 per head it was not value for money at all.
The afternoon tea is gorgeous we came twice and will come back again definitly :)
The food was delicious, the tea selection extensive but a little surprising. Only one member of staff appeared tounderstand the norms of high quality silver service, but everyone was attentive and pleasant. Was seated next to some loud and opinionated guests which decreased my enjoyment a little - but not really the hotel's fault.
A very enjoyable afternoon. Welcoming, helpful staff, great location.
Fantastic service from Aurora; great food with good consideration for dietary requirements; free-flowing means free-flowing champagne if that is what you book. Would definitely recommend.
The waiter was excellent; friendly, effecient, helpful and great personality.
Excellent afternoon tea in the Library. very pleasant staff too. would certainly return.
The location and setting of this afternoon tea is lovely but sadly the food wasn't great, everything was just a bit not great. Also the room was quite dusty all the bookcase ledges were covered in dust which didn't give me confidence in the overall cleanliness. Our waiter was good though, very friendly and helpful service.
Very comfortable environment to be in, fab views over the thames. Enjoyed it all very much.
Went to Afternoon Tea with my daughter. It was beautiful. The view was amazing (Big Ben and water). The service was great. They are so kind, informative, and genuine. The food was delicious. The champagne was super.
The ambiance was great! A little gem; secluded and quiet. Yummy cakes but finger sandwiches could be more exciting. Price for the given variety was a little on the high side which assume it’s been compensated with the view
A really lovely Afternoon Tea with delicious food.
A little quiet which is to be expected after the pandemic. Staff were polite and attentive as always. I will definitely be returning for the champagne bottomless lunch in the near future
Afternoon tea at the library was fine. The champagne and tea were delicious. The sandwiches were nice. The pastries/cakes weren't the most exciting though (and had doggy bottoms) and overall for the cost I think there are nicer places to go around London.
Aurora and Gareth and the team really looked after us, so cheerful, chatty and helpful
Perfect Champagne afternoon tea. The food, the setting and the waiting staff were all fantastic. Will come again!
Very good gluten free selection, the scones were especially good, eat while warm.
Brilliant customer service by Gareth and his colleague (sorry didnt get her name)
Cannot recommend this place enough, nothing to much trouble, including dealing with food allergies, its the only place we have been for Afternoon Tea where this is never a problem
Will definately be booking again :)
Thankyou for a wonderful afternoon tea, service was excellent
Loved it! Venue was a great location and peaceful. Staff were attentive and friendly. Thoroughly enjoyed by all of us!
Lovely setting and view. Tasty food and well presented. Good service. Free flowing bubbles recommended!
