The Lucky Well
Panko Crusted Mac N' Cheese, Pork Shoulder, Spicy Ranch
Cotija, Chili, Lime, Herbs
Some food was brought out cold. Yes cold, while other food was hot. When told they did take food back and reheat but wished it would have come out hot originally. Everything tasted good once everything was hot.
We had dinner after a movie at the Ambler across the street. I had the brisket sandwich, which was tasty and served with fries. My husband had ribs with sides of beans and onion rings. Our only complaint was the onion rings were drizzled with maple syrup, and were too sweet. Would have been much better without the syrup. Service fine. Drink menu diverse. Service was fine.
Stopped at The Lucky Well before heading across the street for an event at ACTII. The chicken was outstanding. My wife and I enjoyed our meal.
Natalie was our waitress and she was absolutely fantastic. Very attentive and great suggestions regarding the menu. Our drinks were great and so was our food. Overall great experience and can’t wait to come back.
Overall a good experience. The Gabe Stillman Band was playing and that was enjoyable. Food was good overall.
Great service & amazing food. Lots of options for carnivores, vegetarians & kids!
Perfect spot for a wholesome, delicious lunch. Salmon and salad was delicious.
Food was very tasty but it was served just warm. Drinks were very good. Server could have bern more attentive.
The wings were very dry. The nachos were awful. What was the grainy cheesy sauce and Nachos only had a very thin tomatoe, hot jalapeno and cheese. GROSS!! Never again.
Brunch was good and jazz trio played great. Only complaint is the chicken and waffles was the chicken to waffle ratio was off and wish they could have used a boneless cut of chicken. Flavors were good though.
As always, a wonderful time at The Lucky Well! They easily accommodated 11 of us for brunch, and service was impeccable!
Food is great. Love the live music.
Service is always a bit slow here. Over 20 minutes to get our drinks...
Great food, amazing service, fun atmosphere. Can’t wait to go back!
I eat a low carb diet. I love the brisket here, and this is one of the only places I can go and get just meat and a salad or side of greens. But the prices are high and I can't come often. For a half-portion (5 or 6 large slices, plenty for me) of brisket it's $17 and a side of collard greens is another $7. A wedge salad is $14 and there is no "side" or "starter" portion. I don't think the prices are completely outrageous, but I think having combination options for a few dollars less would make much more sense. $20 for brisket and a side or two would seem more fair. It's weird to have to order everything a la carte, and at premium prices. $7 for a small bowl of collard greens with some pork in it seems like a lot.
I'll still come here because you can't get good barbecue anywhere around here, especially without it being on a sandwich, but I do wish they'd simplify the menu with some combination platter-type and/or offer cheaper side salads.
Excellent all-around! Would definitely recommend (& already have). Although it was busy (Valentine's Day), we were warmly greeted by reception, and never rushed by service. Food was Superior. Excellent value for the money. Thank you and we'll be back!
Amazing food and service
Food was good. Server was good. In the middle of eating, a busser asked if he could clear our plates and bring boxes... ummm-no. We were mid meal! Better training may be needed for bussers. Over all a good meal.
As always, everything was delicious. I made reservations just in case and we had gotten the corner booth which was nice for both of us. My boyfriend works in ambler and he could smell the smoke earlier that day, and we could definitely taste it that night. Our waitress was very attentive and we had another nice evening at the Lucky Well. Our favorite things are the smoked wings, the brisket, the corn bread, the ribs, the dry rub fries, and the Mac and cheese. I know, that’s the short list. But corn bread is life.
Had brunch with friends this past Sunday. Food was excellent. I really liked the entertainment. Drew Nugent was great and his music enjoyable.
The placed was packed, but we were seated and our server came immediately. Took 15 minutes to get the drinks. Then 20 minutes for an appetizer. We waited 45 minutes for our meal. The server rarely returned to the table only when food arrived.
Fantastic food!! Never disappoints!
Casual, comfortable, great place to hangout with a group of friends. Live music was great. Good food and keto-friendly.
Having not been back since their first year and not caring for the food and limited menu, we decided to give The Lucky Well another try. First off my boyfriend, adult daughter and I were seated in what I will call the kids party room. With picnic bench seating and surrounded by multiple families with little children. (I like children and these kids were just being kids) This place is very loud. I felt like I was at Mcdonalds at a kids party. Especially when our food arrived on a metal tray and we got to off of a piece of paper. Now who ever thinks that a $15 Burger or $17 Ribs (no side) plopped on a piece of paper on a tray looks artsy, cool or even mouth watering is wrong. It looks cheap and dirty. As for the actual food. The burger meat itself was very good. Nachos were actually “plated” and literally were just case bought chips with some melted cheese, tons of red sliced onions, jalapeños and some barbecue sauce poured on them. Just didn’t taste good at all. Corn bread was hard, dry and had no taste let alone corn???Bacon appetizer was one 12” long 2” think strip of mostly fat, and 1/2 rack of ribs on paper were skimpy and fatty and no side included. Mac and cheese had no taste. Just tasted like cream. My adult daughter said it best while eating “ this is kinda food that only tastes good when you’re drunk.” Had to write my review because I actually read the ones posted and was the reason I decided to try again Lucky Well despite people I know saying it was still a very limited menu and not very good. Seems like their still confused as to which way to go. I’d rather pay more money get better food served on a plate or presented better. Especially if I’m going out on a Saturday night. I know you make more money on the booze.
Had a great time
Thought we would end up with BBQ (which looked delicious) but instead tried the cauliflower banh mi — it was very good! I also loved my cocktail (cucumber, jalapeño, honey). The live music was nice and not too loud
Once the restaurant filled up, service slowed to a crawl and flagging down a server became a challenge. We did not feel well after eating here.
The brunch is unreal
I have been to the Lucky Well numerous time for lunch and dinner and have always loved it,I was expected the same experience for brunch as I haven't been let down.I ordered the Chicken and Waffles and loved everything about it except one thing. Why in the world would you garnish that with any green leafs(vegetable) it puzzled me . I will still be hitting brunch there when I am free in the morning but hold the greens on the Chicken and Waffles.
The food was amazing and the atmosphere was very nice and inviting. We will definitely be back soon!
The appetizers were very good, but the two burgers, which we ordered medium were very well done. They were nice enough to comp us for one of the burgers, but not both.
Great place for business meeting
Amazing brunch menu and live jazz, how that there be anything bad about that!!
Huge improvement in the food since I was last there... I heard they had a new chef ... menu could use further tweaking... Sunday Brunch with Jazz music was excellent!!
A great night at the lucky well! Awesome food and a terrific band, Rollin and Tumblin! We had requested seats to see the band and the table was perfect! Service was great!
Service and food was excellent! Loved the live entertainment- band was awesome
Casual, fun atmosphere with live music in a fantastic part of town for walking around with friends or a date. Food was good, sweet potatoes a bit too "desert-ish" for me, but bbq was excellent, beans were delicious, and chocolate layered desert was unique and decadent. Bees Knees drink was good, as was Old Fashioned but Spiced Cider drink tasted like a candle. Service was fast and friendly.
Excellent server. Put my take-home pkg. in fridge till after our show! Very good food, too.
Went for their inaugural jazz brunch, great experience. Band reminded us of those we saw when living in New Orleans and having a jazz brunch there - music was there but not over-powering (could easily talk) and they moved around the room and interacted with the diners. The food (not reminiscent of New Orleans) was outstanding (come early, they briefly had to take the chicken and waffles off the menu. Best chicken and waffles - even better than Dame's in Raleigh, NC. The brisket benedict (corn muffin and brisket) - delicious. And a hat's off to Hunter for their version of the Bloody Mary - BBQ Bloody Mary with rib - yes a BBQ rib on top - a much better stirrer than celery.
