The Oak Stave
Food was okay - a little overpriced. We had trouble catching our server or someone else to bring us silverware - two times, as he took it away after we ate our appetizers. The women's restroom was out of toilet paper when I went at the end of the evening. We would probably not return.
It was our first time at The Oak Stave. The food, atmosphere, and ambiance were great. Excellent whiskey and bourbon selection.
Perfect atmosphere. Our waitress was phenomenal and very attentive, especially when it came to refilling our waters. Our entire dining experience was exceptional from beginning to end. I would highly recommend to friends and family.
We really enjoy having dinner at The Oak Stave. Food is always on point and the staff very accommodating. Most times we make a reservation to make sure we are seated. Their rounded booths are very intimate while giving you a view of the entire restaurant. Highly recommend.
Steak was a little over cooked and tough. Otherwise everything was good
Service and food were excellent! Friendly staff and food came out quickly.
We made a reservation on open table and we were seated immediately. Our server was friendly and attentive.
We were very satisfied with the quality and presentation of our meals. The cheese tortellini with marinated steak tips was awesome, very flavorful. I was also very pleased that the chef was able to make a Parmesan cream sauce in lieu of the blue cheese cream sauce which comes with the entree. Not being a fan of blue cheese. Very accommodating!! the dessert was Genevieve’s heart-shaped cheesecake which was phenomenal! The bar service was above and beyond as well. We are definitely going back to try other entrées on your menu! Overall, a delightful dining experience
Food and service was excellent. I had made reservations for 12 at 6:00 and was promptly seated at 6:00.
Thanks for such a great review. We are happy to accommodate reservations in a timely matter. Thank you.
I came in a couple weeks earlier and the food was great. This time I brought another couple and all of thier burgers were overcooked and my chicken tacos were tasteless . I am usually super easy to please but was very disappointed
The brusselsprouts are amazing. And I DO NOT normally like brusselsprouts. The burger was great, drinks were great, and recommend trying the Jefferson Ocean whiskey.
Went on Tuesday evening with wife and friends. All four of us ordered dinner and we ALL were very happy with our dinner. Presentation was nicely done and all dinners were enjoyed. Definitely plan to go again for dinner. Sam Tiranno
I have been here twice and my last visit was quite disappointing. We had reservations for my mother's birthday and I had requested a high chair with our group of 7. We were sat at a high top where a high chair couldn't be used so my sister asked if we could get moved to another table to accommodate and she was told no. So we spent dinner wrestling a 2yo who had to sit in an adult chair. Appetizers came right out and were great! Unfortunately we waited quite a long time for our meals. We ordered fairly quickly upon arrival but had been in the restaurant well over an hour before we received our lukewarm food. At this point we were not going to complain as we had had a long day and some of our party had a 1.5 hour drive home plus the 2yo was acting up due to the long wait. Bar drinks were slow, "maybe she forgot about us" had been said more than once. Just a disappointing experience.
Delicious fish fry! Went early on Friday,4:30. No wait time! Nice that it was happy hour too!
Food including a salad & appetizer took way too long to get to the table & came out right before dinner was served. Overall service was very slow.
For a quiet Sunday night, service was slow and food arrived cold.
Food is good and consistent. Get the cheesesteak egg rolls.
Everything was wonderful except the waitress. She was not very friendly at all. I saw her at other tables and she seemed very nice but she was extremely short with us.
Great food, service and atmosphere!
Went there New Year's day and ordered the burgers. Cooked perfectly, great seasoning and very tasty. Highly recommend Oak Stave if you want a great chargrilled burger.
Our waitress was obviously not pleased that we had children at our table. Her attitude from our initial seating was as if we were imposing on her / bothering her. After an allergy sufferer was given a dish that could have proved very dangerous (after we let our waitress know the issues and she supposedly checked with the "chef") it took 40 + minutes to get a new dish. The rest of the table had finished eating long before that. Water was never refilled and the dessert we ordered was also not prepared properly - had items on it that we asked to be excluded (sauces). Very disappointing. And the food quality ... the lobster mac & cheese ... the "lobster" was not edible. Rubbery and presumably out of a can. Sad because it is in our neighborhood and could have been a goto type of spot.
I would recommend it for drinks and appetizers, but the entrees are just not worth the price. It is however a great atmosphere and we have always had excellent service every time we have been there
Most food was very good. Steak sandwich had numerous seasonings. Service was a little slow. Also, quite noisy.
Great pub food tonight. Excellent service by Jonathan.
The wait was longer than normal even with a reservation because of some large parties, not the staffs fault. The hosts and the manager worked hard to deal with it. My only dissatisfaction is the price level for the food. It was good food but I can go to other places and get the same quality for less money (in the same area). I’d go there again but wouldn’t go out of my way to make sure o did.
Didn’t even get to eat there. Made reservation just to be told that they’re delayed 45 mins.
It accommodated our group of 7. Food was delicious. Good specials. I would definitely go back there.
thanks for such a wonderful review we can not wait to have you back in the near future.
We’ve been there several times, and the food and service are consistently very good. I tried a dish for the first time, lobster mac and cheese, and it was excellent. My friend tried the fish tacos and said they were very good. From past visits, I can say that the Brussels sprouts, Caesar wedge, burgers, sweet potato fries, and apple pecan salad are all delicious.
Nice atmosphere although the music is always very loud . Nice varied menu from burgers to chix piccata. Love the large pretzel as an app.
Fun time good location and place to catch up
thank you for choosing us for your meeting place, we look forward to seeing you again.
Had a great time! Good food, good service and background music was just right. Not too loud so you could still chat with everyone at your table.
Although the portions were large, too large in my opinion, the quality and seasoning was mediocre at best.
Probably fine for lunch, the burgers looked good but not a great choice for supper.
Loved the tacos, and the french onion soup. Our waitress was outstanding and cleared our table as we ordered more food. We tried the pear martini and the blood orange martini...went down smoothly. Made reservations and glad we did!
Booked a last minute reservation and was surprised to see many available times. Whenever we drive past the restaurant, it's always packed. We arrived a bit early and were seated right away. Food was great! Many different items on the menu I would not normally order, such as the Pretzel coated chicken and bacon wrapped meatloaf. The Blood Orange Pineapple Margarita was outstanding but drinks are a bit pricier than other restaurants but well worth it! $12 for each Margarita and Old Fashioned. I plan on returning soon.
Great ambience and service! The music was directly above us, so it was a bit loud. Overall, we enjoyed our dining experience!
Our Open Table reservation didn't seem to mean much, we requested a high top table and mentioned we were celebrating a birthday. We were seated at a tiny (low) table up against a wall and no mention of the birthday. Service was great, awesome spirits menu, food portions way too big.
Had a wonderful time at the Oak Stave. The waitress was friendly and welcoming. The food was excellent.....we took advantage of the Local Restaurant Week specials, so great value for an outstanding meal. The French Onion soup had good flavor, not too salty. We both had salmon......generous sized filet, done perfectly. The fish was juicy and the maple glaze was light....I had been worried it would be too sweet. It came with fingerling potatoes and asparagus.....both perfectly prepared. The salted caramel ice cream and brownie were perfect endings to this great meal. My mom and I will definitely be back.
Went for restaurt week, deal was good but $15.oo for a manhatan, and $12.00 glass a wine is robery!!
Everything was incredible!!
Thank you for your review. We look forward to seeing you again!
Nasty hostess. Server great!
