First time trying indian cuisine. The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. They also made excellent recommendations. The ambiance was relaxing and upscale perfect for a date night or a family. dinner. I forgot pictures but the samosas and lassis are also fantastic!
Our server Brandon made the dining experience great. The food was well prepared and tasted excellent.
8:30 reservation... we walked in at 8:35. They shut the door in our face and said they were closing early. We ate elsewhere...
We were so happy to be able to visit The Oven for an anniversary dinner. We had exemplary service from Elizabeth. The food and drinks were terrific, and everyone was so attentive and considerate. We look forward to a return visit!
The service was outstanding and the food was so good. We sat on the patio and it was so relaxing.
The food was outstanding, as usual. Our service was good with Elizabeth. We will be back.
Overall a great meal! The hostess was great at recommending dishes to our group, Most of whom hadn’t visited an Indian restaurant before. They all seemed to enjoy their dishes, which were served very quickly.
Food was great and we were able to have our meeting quite easily.
Will definitely be back again!
Delicious food and excellent service. Vegetarian friendly.
Great night out.
Very busy Valentines night at The Oven but the waiter and staff were very on top of their game. Food arrived in a timely manner and waiter kept up on drinks.
Hubby and I shared a mixed appetizer and the non-vegetable thali dinner. Will definitely go back.
The food was mediocre and they made us wait for 15 minutes despite having a confirmed reservation on OpenTable. It was disrespectful.
Our waiter was exceptional and certainly not only met, but exceeded our expectations! Took care of every need with an honest desire to provide great service. Our 20th Wedding Anniversary was wonderful. The food was outstanding which is why we chose to come to The Oven in Omaha. THANK YOU!!
It was okay. food was good, the appetizer was the best. Service was odd
We waited about 15 minutes after being seated before we asked the manager for drinks. It took the waiter prompting to come to our table to take our order. When our food arrived, it was not complete as the server did not put in our order for Naan. Not a great first experience at the restaurant. I was disappointed.
have been trying different Indian restaurants as closures and changes have occurred across the city - this is the best Indian food I've had in a long time.....
Excellent choices in entrees. Flavor was wonderful. Ambiance was ok.. felt a little “cold”, not super comfy-cozy. Could help this with turning down the lighting a bit. Excellent experience overall.
They did an excellent job of preparing food that was spicy and pleasing to our palette. The server was very cautious (reluctant) about letting us order food at the 10 level of spice but we assured him it would be fine. We even offered to sign a waiver. We were seated close to the bar area and when the food was about to be served, the bar area became very crowded with back room staff. We figured they were there to see if we would actually enjoy the food. We certainly did enjoy the food and it was amazing how many staff members stopped by to see how we were fairing. Enjoyed the meal and the service very much.
Nice traditional India food. Enjoyed, but very salty for my preference
We love this restaurant. Everything from reception, to service, to wine, food, atmosphere is always exceptional. Their wine offerings are varied and impressive. The Oven is a regular stop any time we are craving excellent Indian cuisine.
You can’t go wrong!
Brother in town.
Great service. Brandon, was outstanding. The food is delicious. A bit spicy but I love heat.
Andrew is the best server on the planet! Food was fantastic!
We were there for an early lunch and enjoyed the beautiful dining room with high ceilings and uplifting art. Delicious meal.
an overall better than average experience
attentive service, good selection at expected
pricing and food was as good as most and better than some
worth a try
The Oven is one of our favorite restaurants!!! There were 7 in our party and it was a busy night. We've had our waiter many times before, and he's just great!!! We were on the 2nd floor, so between the up and down and the number of customers the service was a little slow, but all was wonderful overall!!
🎂 for a 25 year old who is getting married soon
The food and service was outstanding. We love going to this gem.
Everything was awesome, as usual. Service was perfect. Can't wait to go again.
Love Himalayas! Big fan of The Oven down in Lincoln and happy to see the food is just as yummy here. We sat outside because it was a beautiful night! The only downfall of that is you catch a strong whiff of the cigar bar directly next door.
I originally went online and made a reservation and went to the resturaunt not knowing anything but it was indian food! The server was very helpful and the food was flavorful and fantastic. I would definitely recommend to a friend and for sure go back again!
The food and service was awesome!! The atmosphere was very lively.
The cigar place next door deters us from coming more.
I came there to celebrate my birthday and we had the best time. We all ordered something different, but I ordered the lamb madras and it was delicious. I recommend the garlic naan and vegetable samosas but order two because everyone at your table end up wanting to eat one!
We had the best food ever! We live this place and the people!
My husband and I loved the food!! We can’t wait to have another date there.. our waiter didn’t write down our order and he kept forgetting things.. he forgot our bread, tea and to refill our water but everyone deserves a second chance 😊
Flavorful with just enough heat describe my vegetable curry and his lamb entree. We shared an interesting cashew and raisin filled flat bread that was served with a dipping sauce that was extremely hot and also not to our taste. Mango chutney on the side was smooth and yummy. The rice was so so. We had a very good waitress. The place was not busy this Saturday night so very quiet, which we appreciated.
I’d read an article about this restaurant in Food & Wine and I was frankly curious about a restaurant serving Indian food in Omaha and Lincoln, Nebraska.
Restaurant ambience is is adequate, not particularly comfortable, but OK.
Service is highly erratic at best. Kept having to wave servers down. Can’t say they hover over you, search party is more like it.
No attempt to explain the menu or what’s offered.
The mulligatawny soup is excellent, one of the best I’ve had, including in India. The “Thali”, vegetarian and non vegetarian is a good value as it has many of the dishes offered in smaller portions. Food was quite good.
You should be aware that, if you book on open table, you get no points.
All in all; interesting. Not sure if I’d go back.
Great Indian food. Extremely authentic and wonderful! Service was amazing as well!
Very good, authentic Indian food. Service was excellent. Especially enjoyed being able to carry on a conversation without shouting over loud music. All in all, a 5-star experience.
