The Park Restaurant and Bar
Good food. Great drinks. Band was good and adjusted volume but could have held off to start at 9. Nonetheless - we’ll be back.
Dined here prior to listening to the band - Acoustic Saints, who we love and came to see. Our food was really good (a little pricey, but serving sizes were generous), but the service was really poor. The only reason the service was so bad was because they were terribly understaffed and every table was occupied plus people standing at the bar...a very busy night. Our server was super friendly, but often forgot about us, and we didn't receive some of the things we asked for. Drinks took a long time to get to us. It's hard to put all of the blame on the staff when the management doesn't adequately bring in enough help for the night. All of the servers and the two bartenders looked stressed out, but were doing their best. They had good attitudes but I felt bad for them.
Food took forever to get. Under staffed with a big benefit. Needed more servers & only 1 bartender.
My husband and I split the Buffalo Burger? Large enough to split w/fries and ordered the brussell sprouts side dish which both were delicious. I thought the burger w/bacon was a bit pricey though.
This restaurant is close and you are taking reservations!!!
Tomahawk steak is what we came for and it was great. Fed my wife and I with a ton left over. Service was fun which is what you expect for a bar. We'll be back!
My server was vet good. However I ordered my burger medium Tara and my fries well done. What I got was a well done burger and limp fries. The server assured me he put in the correct order and got me the correct order. The special condiments listed for the burger were very sparse. I will not be going back again. If it was busy, I could understand, but it was a very slow night.
Spotts and live music are nice! Food is good but prices are more line with a restaurant than sports bar.
Food is always delicious! Fried chicken tastes amazing. Good bar drinks as well.
First visit to this restaurant, which turned out to be a very large bar. We were excited there was live music. The band was excellent! However, they were ear-piercingly loud. I’m not exaggerating. The band even kept joking about how loud they were and mocking people that might take issue. If they only had two less amps the whole atmosphere would have transformed. Now for the food. The mushroom pizza was awful. I know, I’m sounding like a pain in the a$$, but It was so dry and the mushrooms were not whole but more like a spread. I ate a couple slices and left the rest. My husband’s burger was quite good. I shared some thick cut fries and they were good too. We might’ve come back with friends to listen to music some evening, but won’t risk the discomfort of the noise level again.
The band playing was excellent; very enjoyable to both listen and dance to their music and vibe.
Our server was efficient with no issues. The food was fair to Good. Brussel Sprout App was good.
The Ahi over rice App was just OK, nothing special for the price, though. My wife enjoyed her ? salad, but my Morrocan salad was greatly disappointing. It was basically a bowl of green lettuces with almost no quantity of the menu listed ingredients included. For $16.00 (plus extra for the protein), it should have been chock full of "the good stuff".
Food was delicious and staff professional.
Date night with my husband. Such a fun place. Not too crowded for a Saturday night which was nice. Great band playing with great food and stiff drinks!! Will definitely come back!!!!
It was weird that they even take openable reservations as there was no host at all. I walked in and after a minute of looking around a server( maybe the bartender) walked by and said I could seat myself. My server didn’t seem knowledgeable and three different things I wanted off the menu I was told no longer were offered. Menu changes but not reprinted. Only thing I enjoyed was the live music.
Upbeat and fun ambiance with a menu that has items for all eaters to choose from. All three of us thought the food was excellent. Great neighborhood gem. Would definitely go back.
Went for Happy Hour (arrived just before 6 pm) and ordered the Margarita Pizza, Brussel sprouts and something else (forgot) and the food was tasty. Also, shared a bottle of wine (Pinot from Paso Robles) which was pretty good ($56) at an average cost. The wait staff was friendly and the crowd pretty tame. We sat away from the live music, so didn't really feel that vibe. Overall, I'd try it again, and sit on the other side of the bar.
I would recommend The Park but be careful and check on what band is playing. Saturday night was UNBEARABLY loud for such a small room. I like music as much as the next guy but there was absolutely no reason the volume needed to be that loud. Before our drinks even arrived we had to move out to the patio... I would never return if the Vinyl Gypsies are playing again...! Bands need to be aware of where they are playing and make adjustments, this was not The Hollywood Bowl.
Let me add that the service was outstanding and the food was good.
The band was fantastic but the area provided for a dance floor was not adequate and needed more room. If you don't use the oyster bar, it should be removed so there is enough room for the band and dancing.
Great atmosphere and loved the band. Food was good. A little spendy for drinks and food
Food is great. Had meatballs & wedge salad. My husband enjoyed his Phillycheese Steak and fries too! Doughnut bread pudding was to die for! Only negative thing is the metal chairs are a bit hard to sit in comfortably for a long period. Also quite slippery in my jeans!! The Service was excellent, and all were very pleasant.
Enjoyed the band a lot - Frontloaders! Note- there Is a Live band so don't expect quiet conversation! Not overwhelming loud until late, but they aren't separated from the dining area so be aware. It Was fun to just sit, watch and listen! Crowd was having fun as well as the band!
We'll definitely be Back!
Went with some freinds. The appetizers wee amazing the entrees were just ok. Sadly the restaurant was very empty. The server was wonderful. Hope they stick around and fix the menu a little.
Food was amazing! We shared buffalo cauliflower, brussel sprouts, and wagyu sliders. Drinks were delicious! And we were pleasantly surprised by the band which rocked. We went for dinner but stayed all night rocking out!!
Nice vibe that is different from most other restaurants in Conejo Valley. Good music (including live) from 80s and/or classic rock.
Food was great. The oven chicken was moist and flavorful. The cheese board was lame. Not worth it. Melon wasn’t ripe. Meatballs were very dry. But the sandwiches were excellent. Drinks were perfect. Waiter was super nice.
More of a bar than a restaurant
I would recommend this place for couples night out for dancing or listening to music. On valentines night it was so loud we couldn’t hear each other sitting next to one another because of the music. In addition we had reservations and still got placed at a high top table next to other folks right in front of the entrance. This is a bar with good food, not a restaurant.
The food was great and the service was amazing. Had a wonderful time.
Had a live band so it was a little loud. Music was good, food was good. Too crowded and couldn’t move around and not big enough restroom
While we had a reservation, no seats had been reserved. The hostess offered to seat us either on the patio, which had heaters but we had come to watch the end of the Rams game. There were 2 seats available at the Sushi Bar, which she seated us at. At the time, we asked if we could order off the main menu & were reassured we didn't need to order sushi.
When the guy behind the sushi bar offered us sushi menus, we declined. He immediately said 'well, then you need to move'. He was abrupt & rude, later claiming he raised his voice to be heard above the noise. We requested to speak to the manager/owner. He was apologetic, owning he needed to have a staff meeting. He's been on the sushi chef's case to sell more sushi. How about providing a sushi menu with everyone with the main menu?
We've been here many times & realize it was incredibly busy due to the Rams game. I respect the owner & all he's done for the community (which can be demanding). I like that he has music on the weekends & would plan to attend more, if The Park published the music more. I receive emails & check their FB page.
I like the casual menu, and our waiter was the best. The band that came on at 8:30 changed the whole vibe though. Too loud and "wild" for midweek, at that hour, so we left. We were thinking about staying, and ordering more, but that made the decision easier.
Had an amazing time at The Park restaurant and bar! Friendly staff, great food and live music! Would highly recommend!
If you're looking for a cool, casual place with a great bar, killer menu, and a fantastic, friendly vibe, look no further than The Park! The nicest people and atmosphere, with live entertainment on the weekends! It is now my go-to place! Love it!
We are new to Oak Park from Florida,
Was looking for a neighborhood place we could get a casual meal and a drink. This place fits the bill. Food was really good, service prompt and attentive. Live music on the weekend adds that little something extra which is nice. We'll be back here for sure.
Nice atmosphere and broad menu choices
A lot of fun. Service and food were great.
Really great food and great service. We will definitely return!! I also like the ambiance.
Our server was excellent. There were 20 of us and he was very helpful. We all enjoyed our meal.
