The Pheasant Inn
Pheasant Ale Battered Fish and Chips
crushed peas, tartare sauce, lemon
flat mushroom, roast pepper, sweet chilli sauce & sweet potato fries
A warm welcome, followed by exceptional and professional service. Nothing was too much trouble and we never felt rushed, even when it got busier. The food and drink were devine and the menu options provided were extensive.
This is a real gem and I'm very glad to have found it.
We had an outstanding lunch as always. The food was superb and our lunch was enhanced by our delightful waitress. She was very helpful, amusing and respectful
We will certainly have lunch there again soon
Interesting menu choice.
Very well cooked & presented meals
Have been before & will definitely return
We enjoyed the usual good food, service and ambiance we have come to expect at The Pheasant. Some favourites on the menu and some interesting newcomers, including a sweet potato tagine which was excellent, and I am not a vegetarian!
Not a great menu but to be expected. Everything seemed to be fried steak was tough and full of gristle.
Place looked good but tasteless .
Grey scrambled eggs and also old salmon with ammonia smell ! Both obviously not fresh.
Although we have to expect dogs to be allowed in pubs in this area being the horse &hound set area we do not expect to see them in the restaurant being allowed to sit on chairs and to roam around tables pestering other diners. Lovely dogs that cannot be blamed for inconsiderate owners!
To non dog owners they have a smell that is not pleasant whilst eating and especially to people who have allergy to dog fur.
Just not on in a dining room.
Great service. Lovely food
Last night we had the most delicious meal at The Pheasant. We had a lovely waitress who could not have been more friendly and helpful. The food was really delicious with 4 out of 6 of us having roasts ( amazing crispy roast potatoes and meat cooked perfectly) and the other 2 having the vegetarian terrine and the fish dish, again both absolutely delicious. Puddings were really yummy too, especially the chocolate terrine !
There was a separate gluten free menu which I ordered from but later realised many items listed were not gluten free and my meal came minus these items! If there is a specific gluten free menu this should ONLY list gluten free items to save disappointment!! Service was also very slow and we had to ask twice for drinks on two occasions.
Birthday meal always amazing food and great service
Busy Friday evening but good service and atmosphere.
Excellent choices including specials. Tempura prawns particularly good.
The food, service and ambience were all good. Our server, Sammy was particularly good fun and helpful
Very popular place to eat. Good food and service. Difficult parking early evening despite large car park. Would definitely go again.
an Excellent Venue, Excellent Service and Excellent Food 1 Highly Recommended 5 Stars.
Always lovely to visit The Pheasant . It was very busy so a little noisier than usual but nice to see a busy pub . Food was great and service excellent . Well done the team at The Pheasant . Worth travelling from Somerset for .
Good initial reception. Smart , clean tidy restaurant, attentive staff and excellent different food.
Superb food and excellent, attentive considerate service. Cannot recommend it more highly. Well worth any journey.
An absolute delight. We started with breaded pan fried really fresh sardines with garlic sauce and a spicy salad and I had the artichoke hummus nibble that came with fresh melba toast and crudites. This was followed by the guinea fowl and the Cornish plaice. The latter was a thick juicy fish pan fried with a crispy skin and almonds. Both outstanding.
The prosecco was really well chilled which is not always the case and my dearly beloved advised that the beer was well kept.
We stayed the night in a lovely room. Breakfast was another culinary delight. I had smashed avocado with poached eggs and my husband enjoyed his full English with local ingredients.
The staff were all enthusiastic, friendly and helpful.
We are looking forward to returning on another trip down south.
Handy place to meet friends who live along the M4.
Very neat and tidy - good menu choices, Good service
Excellent service and very considerate given that we were an hour late for lunch, due to motorway closed. We will return again . Very happy with food and service
Great service and the food was lovely.Very convenient place to stop off on the M4
Very enjoyable evening, arrived a bit early but our table was ready. Service was super friendly and worked well for a busy restaurant. Good atmosphere but slightly disappointing food. Steak ordered rare was medium and triple cooked chips a bit leathery. Would go again.
It was really good and will definitely go back again very soon.
Staff are excellent, overall a very good dining experience.
The Cornish Plaice on the bone was absolutely perfect. Worth a 2 hour drive from Wales for.
Good food and a varied interesting menu with a lot of gluten free and other options, pleasant surroundings, attentive service and ample parking.
Good food. Vegetarian tagine disappointing but overall the food was good. Excellent vegetarian breakfast.
The Pheasant have made a few changes to the menu and really interesting .We had the monkfish and guinea fowl, both superb.Service attentive and charming. Overall lovely evening .
Very popular pub. Staff coped really well with all the diners. Cornish plaice was excellent and really cooked to perfection. Lovely visit
Very nice meal, reasonably priced, in comfortable surroundings.
Sunday lunch to celebrate a birthday with family from over seas. Everything was spot on, in particular our waitress was exceptional and nothing was too much trouble. I am pleased to say that we are regulars and The Pheasant is our 1st choice for family lunches.
Wonderful service, outstanding food and a really special atmosphere throughout.
Lovely food, service and setting.
Would definitely return.
Great service, good food - try the tarte tatin! Lots of parking and easy to access from the M4.
Always consistently good, one of our favourite spots, but rather noisy.
Elegant country feel. Lovely locally sourced food, exceptional service. Would highly recommend
Excellent food and service in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
The menu was varied and the food delicious. Service was excellent, the servers being polite and efficient. Very good value for money.
Food excellent as ever. A varied menu with lots of temptation. Great service.
Stunning food, lovely new dining room area and the staff were extremely kind too. We had a brilliant night stay!
Good food and service. Starters of bread, olives and chorizo were greta. Only disappointment was the duck main as it came with minimal vegetables. We didnt raise it at the time as we had guests but would avoid ordering again as it felt a meagre portion given the price tag and comparing to other dishes. Complimentary chocolates with the coffee were a nice touch.
