Great food, drink and service for a family meal.
It was suggested by friends who had eaten there. It did not disappoint, the food and service was excellent and good value. Will certainly go again
Seemed to be run by students who initially were not welcoming! Spicy pizza was excellent! Other meals looked expensive.
Always our favourite pub and will continue to support. Was a bit disappointed with the table allocation as we had advised with lots of notice that we would be dining with our baby and would need a table with some space for a buggy (we ended up just taking in the car seat) but were seated in the most uncomfortable and awkward table. In the middle of the entrance, in the way. Where another couple were seated at a 4 seater table. Why not place us at the 4 seater? Just felt like we were ‘punished’ for dining out with a baby?.?.
Very enjoyable and tasty meal. Had a lovely, quiet corner for the 2 of us. Good wine selection to pair with the food. Will be going back and would definitely recommend
Haddock cooked well in nice thin crispy batter, beef burger presented on a wooden platter an ordinary plate may be better in these covid times.
I love the atmosphere here, it is really welcoming and cosy. Friendly and efficient staff. The food is always tasty! and always presented very well. This is one of my favourite restaurants. A good all rounder as far as I am concerned, if you like a pub with great food (over and above expectations of a pub) then this is the place for you.
We dined at The Pinkneys Arms on 4th Dec. Starters were Beetroot and Beef Carpaccio. Both excellent, although the portions were a little on the small size. Mains were Lamb and Monkfish. Again, both excellent food dishes and well presented. The ambience was average, due to lack of customers. The restaurant was not warm, largely because a door was permanently open to allow staff to wait on outside customers. Service was average. Would we go again - yes.
Fantastic food and venue. Are more extensive wine choice would not go amiss
Good friendly service and delicious food. Our favorite go to dinning pub.
Been 4/5 times now and each time just as good as the last. Would highly recommend
Just everything about the Pinkneys Arms food and service is lovely-great atmosphere and amazing food
Amazing evening at the Pinkneys Arms, food was stunning and service was exceptional. We will definitely be back after lockdown.
Great food and service. However, doors being left open constantly in the barn made for a drafty meal. Then the dessert menu had only 3 options on there and they were only desserts of the same consistency were available - ie creme brûlée, panna cotta and mousse.
Hidden gem! We were blown away by the food. Can't wait to go back again!
Amazing food and service!
Absolutely lovely evening. Great food, fab drinks and the staff were brilliant,
especially Holly who looked after us.
Lovely food, great service. Very quiet when we went, garden looks fab and will be amazing in the summer. It was a bit chilly with the doors open
Tried for the first time. Relaxing venue. Fresh produce menu with a nice split for things to eat. We will have to go back to try other things on the menu!
Great staff and ownership
The best Sunday roast for miles .....by miles......
Fantastic surroundings, staff are really friendly and the food is great 😊
The food was fabulous but it was very cold in the dining room - needed the heating on
Most enjoyable
Potatoes not many and a little warmed up looking
All well organised
Fantastic service and very very welcoming - no complaints there however I found the food overpriced, particularly the fish. It was tasty but it was not worth £29 with no sides. Needs more mid range priced dishes on the menu
never been before was good but a little bit busy for the price you are paying though I appreciate its a difficult time for all. Will go back at some point.
Lovely food, great friendly service. Lovely setting.
Booked online, ordered our meals on the limited menu ( Understood Totally) hen later noticed other diners eating different meals and then told they are running two menus ? We didnt get offeted the other menu which incidentally is cheaper and very similar food. There is also a Barn to eat in also not offered ? . The food is not up to the Standard they are charging, its Pub Food and not that great, all the Manager or owner keeps Banging on about to every Diner is that he purchases his meat from the Queens Butcher, also the Drinks are extremely expensive your money would be better spent elsewhere .
This felt like a really special dining experience, with very welcoming service and fabulous food.
The brandysnap in a dessert was too soft, but otherwise the meal was superb and all beautifully presented.
Visited for the first time , as me and my partner work in Berkshire and stay away . When we arrived it was a very warm welcoming therefore we got excited.
We got asked if we wanted to sit inside or outside so we choose outside. We got escorted outside in this beautiful marquee by this lovely young man so we thought. We got given the menu and we were told who will host us for the night sadly cannot remember the name.
The unexpectable happen we sat for a significant amount of time watching others being served . Worse still at least two waitresses collecting empty glasses and bottles . Was it too dark outside and we could not be seen it just didnt make sense to us.
I honestly thought someone would come ,this had never happen no one came . We set for more than 30 minutes the only option was to take our sorry selves back to our B&B and hope just eat would come to our rescue.
Interestingly enough no one again noticed or acknowledged. My partner felt the need to go and ask of course nothing came out of it , a flimsy we apologise and business continued .
Cannot comment about the food as we never got to test a glass of tape water.

We had Sunday lunch - it was really good, plenty of food, beef was cooked perfectly.
Very friendly and helpful. They were able to help with a booking issue we had. Drinks were worthy the money. The staff went out of the way to accommodate our requests even though it was quite busy.
Very disappointed with COVID measures, I'm afraid. No sanitizer on arrival or anywhere near table. Old lipstick on water glass, too many tables in too small a space. My chair was literally back to back with another diner and I had to ask for tables to be moved further apart. Card machine grubby with fingerprints and clearly not wiped down between use. Waitress friendly and apologetic about spacing but she shouldn't have to be!
If you're going to charge at that level, then the quality of food should match.
Sadly it doesn't.
The staff were attentive give as always and the food delicious.
Fantastic place for a Sunday roast! Would highly recommend.
From start to finish an outstanding experience. Will definitely be going again!
Lots of thought put into making the place (indoor and outdoors) Covid compliant, fully achieved with an outcome absolutely perfect for customers. Garden laid out very tastefully, ordering of drinks at bar (via separate table) very efficient. Dinner in restaurant excellent, menu has gone more upmarket, only minor criticism is it it quite limited in choice and pretty expensive. However food quality excellent, presented well, service very good. Well done to the whole team.
Lovely venue, we sat in a large air conditioned room which was a godsend last week. Staff were great and accommodating. Will definitely go back.
The Pinkneys Arms is just very very good! Friendly staff, great atmosphere and fab food, what more could you want!
