The Publican House

The Publican House has erected an outdoor patio area. It is just made of plywood but it is all decorated, and there are outside heaters to keep you (mostly) cozy. With many layers of clothing and hats and sometimes blankets, we have enjoyed several 'normal feeling' meals outside with friends and family. It has been a great relief to have this opportunity. And the warm drinks are wonderful and the food is good.

The atmosphere is fantastic an upscale Brewery pub yet down-to-earth so you don't need to be overdressed. We enjoyed flight of 4 in-house draft beers that were excellent. Loved the Hazelnut Coffee Stout. The Cheese dip was a new experience with pickles and hot peppers. Buffalo chicken pizza was addictive. Both dishes complimented the draft perfectly. The server was very friendly and knowledgeable about the beer. All in all this is going to be our new date night pub. They just need an intercom at the front host area because staff can't hear the little bell to announce guest arrivals.

We actually sat indoors although they are set up for outdoor. Great craft beer choices and nice food.

Went for beer and dessert. Great venue. Proper distancing and sanitizing.

Got a flight of 4 beers to try. I also ordered the peanut butter brownie. It was more like cake than brownie though and it was huge! A great dessert to share.

The table we were at didn't have a heater so it was a little on the chilly side. This was quickly forgotten when we got our food, which was all AMAZING. We have never been disappointed at The Publican House.

Everything was perfect. Our whole family went (2 adults and 3 teenagers) and everyone thought the food was phenomenal. The staff and ambience were great. Would highly recommend.

Excellent Service, Well Managed COVID-19 Policy, Amazing menu and Beer

As always, the Publican House was a great place to meet with colleagues. The server/bartender was mindful of our meeting, and they took the time to make sure we had everything we needed.

Beautiful atmosphere and moderately priced but limited menu.

Wonderful respect for clients regarding policies these days. Upbeat attitude and wonderful service.

All three of our meals were undercooked. They were not at all as described in the menu which violated a dietary need for a vegetarian option. When trying to wave the waiter over, I was ignored 3 times before being addressed. I will not go back or recommend this restaurant.

My fiancé and I wanted to try a restaurant on our trip, we decided on The Publican House. The food was very good at a very reasonable price. I absolutely loved their poutine! Great wine and beer selections! And a very cute shop next door.

We went on Halloween, and the staff were warm and friendly. There were very few patrons due to COVID, but we enjoyed ourselves immensely!!

Great craft beer restaurant, located in an old brick home, lots of great ambiance and a great outdoor patio when the weather is nice. Service is always excellent.

It was date night wth my husband. Our table was well distance and covid regulations were being followed well!!
The food was amazing! It was served hot and was beautifully presented. The beer was equally cold and good!

You could play roulette with the Publican House menu and be satisfied with your meal every time. Great service from engaging staff and an all round good time!

Pizza with Sauerkraut and Sausage is something that I would think twice about ordering but it was fantastic. The Sauerkraut was not to strong and the Sausage was spiced just right. The texture was not soggy as you might expect from sauerkraut. Would definitely recommend this dish

We were driving down from Algonquin Park and wanted a place to stop for lunch. Especially during Covid I didn't want to chance anything random. I checked Open Table because I wanted to make a reservation and The Publican House popped up with good reviews. It was great and they follow Covid protocols very strictly. Great food, great staff, great lunch!!!!
