The Rec Room - Toronto Roundhouse
日曜日 - 金曜日 16:00 - 18:00
Had an amazing time celebrating with some friends. Food was amazing, and the service was great! There were a few games that were out of service we were unable to play that I would have liked to, but overall it was an amazing night!
The food was outstanding but what made the night even more better was the server... he was outstanding!!! Every restaurant should have a server like him!!! Unbelievable!!!
Service at table great. Check in was not good service. They seemed very disorganized couldn’t find reservation. No hello or nice greeting. Everything was hood though. Appetizer menu needs work.
Great meal before baseball game. Quick service. Good choices for beer
So, when I was looking for a restaurant, I was looking for something with food we could both eat, something walkable, and somewhere I could make reservations. I literally looked at no other information about the places I was researching. So when we walked into this place, I was totally dismayed that it was like a Dave and Buster's sort of atmosphere. Really loud and certainly not the type of place my mom would like.
So they sit us down in a slightly less noisy area and there are TVs all over that are tuned to tennis. My mom is a huge tennis fan, so that worked out. Then, instead of a bowl of bread or chips, the free snack they brought to the table was a bag of freshly popped corn. YUM.
Two points to the Rec Room!
I got the Roasted Chicken with market greens, house-cut fries, and black pepper gravy. Yum! Our waiter was great and he double-checked that the gravy for the chicken was gluten-free, and it was. Hooray!
Mac and cheese was good. Few other items were not good but there are a lot of other choices. The vibe was fun and cool for a big group
That was our 2nd time at The Rec Room. My son chose this restaurant to celebrate his birthdays because he likes the fact that he gets popcorn to the table. We were happy to return to this place due to the amazing experience we had last time we've been there. Last time we were 12 ppl, this time we were only 4 of us. Last time the service was amazing, this time the service was very slow and the server wasn't nice and I had to ask many times to bring popcorn for the kids. I understand the restaurant was busy, but it was busy last time too, and we were 12 ppl...
It was our first time to the Rec Room. We made a reservation and were seated immediately. It was quite busy but our server brought our food in a timely manner.
We would go back for sure. It’s in a very convenient location. We had tickets to the Jays game afterwards so it made for a short trek.
We recommend it and will probably try the brunch menu next visit.
Das Essen war lecker. Draußen war es sehr laut aber wir waren gerne dort!
Ribs were very dry. No popcorn on the table, had to ask. No cutlery also had to ask. Need more servers!
I had been previously a few times and had great experiences, but there have been some changes since and it was definitely for the worse. There are less games than before and the food was horrible this time, the first time I’ve ever sent food back. The pizza was also much different than before -thicker and sloppy, everything slid right off the dough/crust on first bite.
Also had trouble with getting scene points. So disappointing.
Great servers, good food
So much fun and great for the family!! Good value for downtown Toronto
Great place for a party, good food, and the service was top notch. Lots of noise, so don't go thinking you're going to have a quiet conversation. A fun time, and our waiter was amazing.
Quick service, great food at reasonable price for Toronto, directly across from the Rogers Centre and the CN Tower. Definitely will be back.
Great patio. Games and kids make it really noisy inside
It was good. The food, was a LOT better than I expected for a gaming place. it was so fresh and good, and even had reasonable food for my kids that wasn't "junk." My only complaint was the service was a little slow.
We arrive a few minutes late past our reservation time as we were stuck in traffic. When we checked in they told us they cancelled our reservation. Another guest overheard this and gave us her reservation as she couldn't stay and left. They still told us that we could only sit us on the patio on a first come first serve, which I didnt understand as half the tables in the main dining area were empty. The menu on the patio is very limited so I ordered the mango/avocado salsa with chips and my husband the burger, both were very good. Good place to dine if attending a game as it's close to both Rogers center and the Scotiabank, but service could be better.
We were disappointed they would not serve us brunch outside
Terrible service. Had to wait 15 minutes despite having a reservation. Won’t be back.
Very loud. Wish the waitress was a little bit more attentive to check on our drinks.
Food was very good and service was great! Would go back for sure!
We had tons of fun shooting hoops. My girlfriend had the Roasted Zucchini, with lots of little fixings, which we loved to pick away at!
Fun! I was with my friend and it was a lot of fun
Food wasn’t great. It was edible. Priced way to high, and service while professional, was exceptionally slow. Games also equally overpriced and were packed and you could barely play.
The food is always good but never amazing. The fries are generally lukewarm, not hot. The fried chicken sandwich is great. But we take the kids for solid kids food and the overpriced games. They love it.
This place is not intended for adults — especially those over 35 years old. It is literally an arcade game room with all the lights and sounds that go with it, so the noise level is through the roof. The hostess told us its not as loud in the dining area, which was true, but we still could not hear our waitress and she could not hear us. Not that it mattered since she did not recognize the cocktails we ordered, and the bartender clearly could not help. She couldn’t even remember to bring water to the table when we had requested it.
Also, don’t believe the “only the finest ingredients...” description on the Open Table overview. The food is straight off the Sysco truck, warmed up and served as-is. The most disappointing part is that we wasted a meal in a great food city like Toronto.
As a first time visitor, I did not know where to check in as I had a reservation. However when I approached the hostess and said hello she never looked up and started in to a set monologue about how long the wait would be, blah, blah, blah! I interrupted her by saying my name and time of my reservation. Fortunately the other hostess decried me where to go inside. Our waiter was attentive and my guest ordered a chicken club sandwhich with french fries and I ordered a spicy chicken with french fries. As well, we each ordered an alcoholic beverage. Our food arrved on a timely basis; but I noticed my french fries were overcooked and many burnt looking. They tasted bad. I then looked for salt and there was none to be found vi asked three differenr people and after our meals were done it finally arrived. A couple of minutes later a waitress came and got it. Both of our chicken sandwiches were really good. Oh, I went to the washroom nearby only to see a sign right by the entrance telling me it was closed for removations. I asked our waiter where another on was and he directed me to the closed facility. He was surprised; but got me in the right direction. The next day I asked my friend if we had the worst french fries ever and they said, yes really bad.
The service was great and our server was very helpful. The place is extremely noisy seeing that there is an arcade in the same building. The sound of the music was really loud to compensate for the arcade. I was hoping for a family dining experience that was a little more tame, but it’s more for the fun seeking older-kids kinda family.
The food, the ambiance and the service was excellent. I was in vacation with my kids and they both loved it!
Pre game for Jays. Good food. Noisy due to kids and video games. Patio is nice
Great fun! We live in the city but we’re looking for something to do with our preteen kids that balanced good food (noon a table at three ten) and fun. Nailed it! Only down side is half the place (where pool tables and shuffleboard etc were located) was closed for a private party. No one told us until after we paid for game credits. Boo! Anyhow we had fun! Great patio.
This place is awesome I will definitely be coming back the service was amazing and I will be recommending it to all of my friends.
It was really great food. The noise level was too loud, but otherwise fun.
Love the atmosphere at the Rec Room and the food and drink selection.
The service was great! Really friendly servers. The food arrived quickly and was hot and fresh. Mac and cheese was pretty good. Will definitely return.
Had a great evening there with my 12 year old son. We both had food that appealed to us (the rainbow salad with salmon was delicious and healthy), and the games were a hit for him. It's very loud though.
We had a great time and loved the atmosphere of the patio. My only complaint is the amount of time the 4 people at the front took to seat our group of 6 when the entire patio was empty. I had a reservation on top of that as well. I had to finally ask what the problem was before they figured it out.
Our server seemed like she was half asleep. We had to repeat our order 3 times before we got our correct bill.
Service was excellent. We are from out of town and arrived an hour early to see if we could get in. Our server started early to accommodate us. My Caesar Salad with chicken was very good but the bacon was undercooked and I had to waste most of it. Pretzel croutons were a nice touch. Chicken Club sandwich was disappointing. The bun was cold and too dry, tasting almost stale. If it had been warmed up, it would have been perfect. The bottle of water is always great.
