The Red Oak Restaurant
Our new favorite restaurant! Farm to table makes this place special! Always fresh menu and friendly staff.
This is a great place, the staff, and food are great. Very attentive, and didn't not wait for anything.
Always a nice night out with great food! We'll definitely be back.
Local F2T that provides outstanding dishes using freshest ingredients for the season. Pork tenderloin is my favorite at A++ and Grilled tenderloin filet is right there at A+. Not one bad thing on menu.
Service and food fantastic
Excellently prepared food and great service.
We love this place. The fresh menu, local ingredients, and enlightened tipping policy make for a gem in quasi rural Wisconsin. Even the cocktails use locally produced spirits. I had a brand new gin which was from southeast Wisconsin and made for a lovely gin and tonic. I had the trout over rosemary couscous and was over the moon. My wife had the pork chop with polenta which was cooked perfectly with a delicious char.
This is our favorite restaurant! It never disappoints! The food and service is always excellent. Love the unique handcrafted cocktails. It’s always so hard to choose just one.
This is a great find! Very nice but relaxed atmosphere. We could carry a quiet conversation. They emphasize local farmers and suppliers. The steak was excellent! Perfectly prepared. Service was great. We’ll be back!
Good place for special dinners. Birthday, anniverary. Etc. The food eccellent locally grown. The support locals. Thursday is Magic night. There is a magician that goes to the table and does s personal little show for you.
Excellent food and service (esp Heidi and Lottie) !! Never disappointed
Excellent food, setting and service. Overall this restaurant is worth it.
This was our first time at Red Oaks during Kenosha's Restaurant Week. We very very pleased with our experience. The waitress was so attentive to our needs, explaining in detail when we told her it was our first time. The food she explained is locally sourced as much as possible. She made modifications for my special diet. It was delicious, well prepared food. We will definitely be back
We went for restaurant week so it was very busy. Not sure if it’s normally that busy or not but if so maybe just want to work on speed of service a little. It wasn’t bad but it did take a while to get our drinks and the waitress seemed a little overwhelmed. I ordered the salmon salad and my husband ordered the fish fry. Both were delicious. The soup was a loaded mushroom soup which was ok. I was expecting more of a creamy mushroom soup but it tasted more like a loaded cheesy baked potato but with mushrooms instead of potato. Maybe that’s what they were going for. Still, it was good. Love the environment. Very cozy.
One of our favorite restaurants in the area. Food always fresh. Love the farm to table commitment. Never disappoints. Fridays very busy.
Good food. Pride in farm to table. A little tacky talking about workers wages 3 times from 3 different staff before even getting a cocktail. Drinks took a very long time. Wrong order for 1 guest took over 30 minutes to get the right order. Overall nice experience, might try again. Good place to stop for a night cap or before starting your evening out.
We love this restaurant. Service was excellent as was the food. Would have given stars, but two salads ordered were gritty...sand in the lettuce mix?? We told the server, not to complain, just FYI, and she cheerfully did not charge for the salads. Duck confit was to die for as was the goat cheese appetizer. The fries were voted the BEST by those who ordered them. Everyone's drinks were good, although the second cosmo ordered was not as strong as the first???? Will definitely go back as the food is exceptionally good and the service is always excellent.
Vickie was a terrific server who explained the restaurant, their offerings, etc. with clarity and enthusiasm. Absolutely LOVE the fact that restaurant sources locally wherever possible, and makes food from scratch whenever possible. The automatic 20% hospitality fee (rather than traditional tipping) is great since their focus is on a more livable wage for ALL their staff, not just front-of-house. Restaurant is easy to get to. Am very much looking forward to seeing their February/March menu - which changes every other month. Definitely will be back again and again.
This is a true farm to table restaurant! The service and food was amazing – highly recommend. The concept that they adjust the menu accordingly to the seasons makes every occasion a delight!
This was our first visit to The Red Oak Restaurant. While the ambience was nice and the service great, the food was mediocre. We ordered the $16 tenderloin sliders (2 sliders), the $13 black bean and mushroom burger and fries. The 2- sliders were quite small for $16 and the Black bean and Mushroom burger had the consistency of mashed potatoes. That said, the fries were quite good.
The restaurant updates the menu every month depending on availability of produce. This is a farm to table restaurant. All the entrees served to our group of four were excellent. The gratuity for service is automatically added to the bill, in lieu of tipping. A great concept and we really felt the whole team provided great service.
I love this place! It is so nice to have such high quality dining available out here. The place was jumping which makes me optimistic for a long future. I had the lamb shank over polenta. The lamb was fall off the bone tender and the polenta was delicious. My wife had the tenderloin sliders and they were equally amazing. Add the Bourbon old fashioned with local whiskey and rosemary simple syrup and I could have stayed all night!
Love this restaurant! Everything about it! The atmosphere, the variety on the menu, the fun drink menu and everything that I’ve had as my meal is fabulous! Sonos the service l! Can’t wait to go back again!
The food was awesome delicious, our waitress, best ever. Loved everything about the dining experience . My group enjoyed it as much as I, we all will return.
We ate there for the first time on Friday, 17th of January. Just walking in, we fell in love. We had Mike , which I recommend highly. From the get go, it was a great experience.
A bit off the beaten path, this restaurant was a wonderful find! The ambiance was homey, festive, and truly welcoming. The menu changes regularly and features locally sourced ingredients, and they were combined perfectly in the seafood chowder and arugula, apple, and walnut salad I tried. Their cocktail menu was impressive, and their Winter Old Fashioned was delicious. My server and other members of the team were attentive and knowledgeable.
Another amazing meal here. The food was amazing and the service attentive. Truly a fun delicious time.
We went there last night and service was great from the start. Very friendly and all of the food arrived on time. The chef (Josh) even came out to introduce himself and give us a bit of history, as well as how they manage their menu. The pork chops were amazing, the roasted chicken and filet were awesome as well. All were cooked to perfection.
The mussel/sausage starter was very tasty as well.
The bar/restaurant were clean and even though the eating area is a somewhat large area, the ceiling had what appeared to be dampening panels; our party of 4 never had an issue hearing each other.
We will be back.
Red Oak had a great menu and the service level was exceptional! Will definitely be going back!
Red Oak is a 'living wage' establishment, meaning they automatically add 20% gratuity to your bill, which is shared with all employees. Prices are reasonable and the automatic 20% tip was not a problem for us since the service team we experienced left us smiling and satisfied. Great service from the Hostess that greeted us, to Lottie the Bartender that served us a fabulous holiday rosemary infused old fashion, to Holly our competent and friendly server, to Heidi the Manager! The menu was complete with something for every palate. Would highly recommend The Red Oak Restaurant!
Very nice time! Would like to come back again for dinner and try their brunch.
Great people and food
I recommend the Red Oak...the food was prepared to look, smell and taste great. The rural location was a plus for me (easy parking, country view, farm to table, locally sourced).
Surprisingly excellent food, appropriate portions and superb service. A well stocked bar with wide variety of uncommon alcohol and interesting drink menu. A truly hidden gem.
Sometimes it’s nice to step outside the box and enjoy well prepared food and fantastic service.
This was our first experience with the new and improved Red Oak Restaurant. We were greeted promptly and pleasantly - and it only got better from there! Our server (Mike) was really friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu. He kept our drinks refreshed and checked back often to make sure we were ok. Our food was outstanding! We will definitely recommend this restaurant and are looking forward to returning to taste more of their delicious food!
Normally in Wisconsin, a restaurant in the middle of the country is going to be bar/pub fare. Not this place! Pleasantly surprised and will go back. Food tasted great. New foodie find in southern WI - more are popping up! Genuine farm to fork - hospitable service!
Great food and service to match. Love this place!!
Wonderfully creative and delicious food and great farm to table concept. Greatly enjoyed ourselves
Our favorite brunch place! We'll be back! The pumpkin pancakes were stellar!
