Amazing service! Asked for a table for sunset dining and had a great view. Drinks were on point as well. We will be back!
The whole presentation of this restaurant leaves a lot to be desired.
First you are given the menu (appropriate)…then you read the whole “our chefs will educate you in the art of grilling , after you choose your meats or whatever you want to grill “ - ( phenomenal idea)… however, by the time you go the the actual grill to be “educated”, you need the fire department/ EMTs to come on site and make sure you don’t die from smoke inhalation while you are there to “learn” how to cook a piece of meat, or/and if you decide to pick something from the salad bar (where, again, you might need divine intervention to release any salad components from the most stickiest and dirtiest thongs I’ve ever seen in my life ).
Then, if only by the grace of God and the first responders you make it to your table, you need to use the flashlight from your personal phones in order to see what you’d like to eat - the whole restaurant is dark and dingy - probably why there are no adequate lights in the restaurant...
Then, if you succeed and pass over all this hurdles, you will not be able to enjoy a conversation due to the obnoxiously loud music - you might as well stay home and eat in front of the TV (don’t do that if you think you might talk to the TV and expect an answer back !!!)
The food was fine : had worse, but also a lot better!!
Our waiter was overwhelmed with the whole running around to make the patrons happy…drinks were brought to the table without a coaster or at least a paper napkin, the glasses started to sweat on the table, in big pools of water and one of us had to stand up and go to the bar area and ask for a few napkins (we were granted that request)…
At this point in our journey to this restaurant we had no silverware (again, one of us had to go to the set up station next to the bar and ask for silverware and napkins (again, we were granted this request)…
You might deduce that we were granted 2 requests and that can or should be enough … not even close…

Have come to this restaurant several times before it changed over in 2017 on our trips to Oahu. Was very disappointed in what was previously a very nice experience. The salad bar had very limited items compared to previous. There was a bad smell at the end of the salad bar toward the kitchen, like mildew. Several of the red meat selections were discolored. Service was poor despite very few patrons. Asked for meat to be cooked medium and it was very medium rare. All this at a very high price point over $40 before drinks, sides or an appetizer. Unfortunately will not return.
Great food, excellent service, and a great atmosphere to enjoy a romantic dinner
Came here for a family reunion. Although I enjoyed the food ambiance. I feel the price point for a filet mignon of $42, is a bit high especially with the customers having to grill their own protein.
Incredible staff: upbeat, helpful, attentive and thorough. Terrific food, delicious drinks, great ambience.
In the past, birthday guests would get a treat with a lit candle. Not this visit. The host mentioned it as we entered as well as when we were leaving. The waiter had no clue, so we left it alone. After all my wife is in her 7th decade of personal birthdays and really doesn't need a happy staff surrounding your table.
Regrettably our dining experience wasn’t good. The view of the beach was amazing, such a shame the service took away from what could have been a great evening.
If you get a seat at the window then it’s worth eating here at least once. The food portions and quality though were just okay but don’t match the price tag. We had the market fish which was $50. I was starving afterwards because the fish was so small and I tried to fill up from the salad bar, but options there just were not very appealing (although I did eat from the salad bar).
Don’t like the changes to the salad bar and the prices increased. Won’t go back even though I’ve prob been there over 20 times
Wonderful! Requested a table near a window and hostess seated us at a great table. Our steaks were cooked perfect! Bartender was great!
Kids Mac and cheese was a bit too fancy for my daughter’s liking. The grilling experience was awesome.
The grill guy was the best! Kept all the grilling going and all our items came out perfectly. Excellent staff. The kids’s new favorite spot.

We had dinner here and received what we thought was a great table. The grills fired up and the heat made us want to move. The grill master was zero help and the butcher was not any better. Cool concept but missed the mark. The salad bar was average at best.
You have to cook your own food, meat was not tender. Sides were not good at all. Unusually I. D.o.n.t review restaurants but this one I would not recommend
Really enjoyed the view and experience of this restaurant. I had the Strip steak and my daughter shrimp kabobs which we picked the seasoning and assisted in grilling and both were great. My wife ordered the mojo chicken from the kitchen which was excellent too. Our waiter was the best we had in Waikiki and the oceanfront table has the perfect beach view.
I will start by commending the reception staff. After being told there was no ocean view seats, which was expected for a Saturday night, the found us a nice little 2-top a toe dip away from the water with a fabulous view of Diamondhead. Our server started off great with a nice explanation of the "you grill your own" entre process. Then, during the course of the night we barely saw here. Our sides were delivered halfway through the meal, although they were delicious. We we promised a knowledgeable grill master to help, but they had one dude for a very busy Sat. I specifically asked for instructions on how to create the diamond sear and keep the steak rare. This guy was no help, when he wasn't trying to assist 10 others. I grill all the time, but not on 1000 degree grills. We'll go back next trip, but will be a bit more demanding. Mahalo!
Overall good. Amazing views. Salad bar was good. But it was a bummer there wasn’t more guidance as my son and I proceeded to char the outside of our $40 steaks, only to have them completely rare on the inside.
They require that you to season, then cook your meat on the grill yourself. On vacation, I just saw that as extra work. They will actually cook it for, but I just prefer they ask me how I want it and serve it up. For the quality the prices were pretty high.
This is a tough one, we loved the restaurant formerly in this location, so we really wanted to love this one too. They certainly polished up some things and kept some of the old things we loved (the grill). Where I feel this restaurant hits a speed bump is in it's cost/value. I know, I know, we are paying for the location and the view. the meat was very good also. I miss the old salad bar, the current one was nice, but for loved (and necessary) items like even a small bowl of rice there is a $8 add on. It made for an expensive dinner. The will probably be our last visit for dinner, but the Happy Hour, we will find our way back for that for sure.
Cooking your own food is a neat concept but it has limitations. If you are telling people to go to the "butcher", then you must let them pick out their own entree. If you are advertising a "grill master", then they must act the part. Our grill master was only good at finding the hot spot on the grill. Also, the chef's love of chili powder on all meats and fish was questionable. That being said, it is an enjoyable experience. The view alone is worth the visit. The concept of having the customer cook is unique, but the restaurant cannot skip on assistance. Most of the customers we saw had no idea what they were doing and received little expert advice. For those not intimidated by the task, it makes for a great amount of time to mingle. All and all this was a unique experience that we will forever talk about.
Had 8pm reservated -- seated at 8:50pm. The best part of this dining experience for the 8 of us was the service. Our waiter was amazing. Food mediocre.
The food was tasty although the salad bar was a bit boring. Be prepared to cook your own meat. The seafront table we had was outstanding.
