The pictures online were not an accurate depiction of the ambiance, atmosphere, service, or dining quality. The food was poor, the service completely underwhelming, and the restaurant was located in a hideous, nondescript gray building. So very disappointed.
We are sorry that your experience was less than satisfactory at Lakeside Dining. We want to give our guest an atmosphere of outstanding lake views, food and service. We are sorry you did not care for the exterior look of the historical dining room. Our goal is to preserve characteristics of the past and also modern amenities for our guest. The setting on the water was lovely! The food and service were amazing! We felt like the waitress went out of her way to make our experience extra special!
Sunday breakfast. Beautiful view. We ordered 2 eggs Benedict. 1 with country ham and 1 plain with a side of bacon. Coffee and hot water for tea came out quickly. After 10 minutes and asking twice, a selection of teas finally arrived. Many tables got their food before us, even though we were only 2. Finally when they arrived the country ham was so salty it could not be eaten. Horrible. The bacon was broken up and placed under the overcooked eggs of the other Benedict. The hollandaise sauce was delivered on the side for some reason. We were not asked how our meal was or why there was a large pile of shaved ham left on the plate when we finished. Glad I saw the place but we won't go back!

We have made many positive changes to our breakfast service since your last visit and hope that you might consider giving us another chance. We really wanted to like this place, and judging by the ambiance and location this restaurant had great potential. Unfortunately potential is all they had! It was July 4th with intermittent showers in the area. We initially went to the main hotel which is not where the formal lakeside restaurant in located, which is down the hill on the waters edge. What could have been a great dinner, was ruined by the chef who seems to have developed a tolerance to OVERSALTING everything! Otherwise the food was just uninspiring and blah. The location is great and we would certainly entertain staying at this charming hotel, but won't be dining here again.
Thank you for your review. After being closed for many years, we have taken the huge undertaking of renovating and re-opening this extraordinary property which has now been open for just over a year. Our guest's experience means everything to us and we are sorry that we did not exceed your expectations. We appreciate your comments and our team is determined to do better. We are excited to launch our new menus next week and hope that you will consider giving us another chance.
