The Rise Eatery
Always love this place! The food is top notch and great service! We celebrated our engagement here last weekend and everyone was so lovely 💕
Absolutely declicious! Had brunch there and it tastes so good. Can’t wait to go back to try more
As always, Chef Dan and team's cooking is FIRST RATE, with Wanda's front of house service warm and welcoming....a delightful dining experience!!!
Visiting with an out of town friend
This bright modern restaurant has a really interesting menu. We loved the Korean chicken dish and the Buried Treasure salad looked amazing in its black pottery bowl and tasted delicious. Prices were not high and we felt we got good value. On a weekday noon hour it was not too busy so nice and quiet for our luncheon catch-up visit. I would definitely recommend trying this restaurant... we'll be back.
Great menu with lots of surprises for the ones looking for something different
The food, the service and the decor of The Rise Eatery were all amazing. I made a great choice for my girlfriend’s birthday and Valentine’s Day celebrations. The only gripe I have is that the music was quite loud so it was a little difficult to have a conversation, but it didn’t take away from our experience as a whole.
We’ll definitely be going back!
They served partially under cooked dumplings that left my son with a stomach ache

We were really excited to try the Dine Out Vancouver menu at The Rise after seeing multiple positive reviews from food bloggers, on Yelp and through social media. Unfortunately, the food did not live up to the hype. Although the appetizers (Chicken Seoul Good and A Curve Ball) were good, the Golly Squash felt like it lacked something. The Uni-Versal Pasta XO Edition was a let down, as the sea urchin cream didn't taste much like sea urchin, in fact, it didn't taste like much of anything. I paid an additional $7 for the deluxe version which came with two pieces of "fresh" sea urchin on top, but it wasn't creamy like any fresh sea urchin I have previously had, which was utterly disappointing. Lastly, the Luv U So Matcha tart was over powered by the abundance of raspberry coulis and the I Care-a-mel About U salted caramel creme brulee was less creme brulee and more of a liquid cream underneath a crispy brulee topping. The food was edible but underwhelming and disappointing. The service was great, despite having a server who admitted she was new. I know that Dine Out Vancouver can be a bit hit and miss, but considering they had extended their Dine Out offering by a week, and these are items that are on their regular menu, I would hope that they would have these dishes perfected.
Portion for dine out menu was too small and not worth the price of $35. Could have been more generous with the appetizer and dessert size. The squid ink pasta was not warm enough.
We chose this restaurant because it was close to the theatre and it had a dine out menu. It doesn't look like much from the outside but the dinner was fantastic. The Korean chicken appetizer was cooked perfectly as was the steak and the duck. It was melt-in-your-mouth perfect. I can't wait to try the regular dinner or brunch menu.
Very good dinner - food was tasty and the atmosphere is great. We were there for dine out - We all had the chicken kaarage which was delicious but the portion distributions were laughable. All four of our group ordered the same starter but the difference in portion sizes were comically unequal. For the main three of us had the uni-versal pasta and one person had the steak and fries. The pasta was delicious. My friend’s steak looked ok. Something that did bother me was that when we arrived they tried to give us a crappy table behind the partition wall. We had made a reservation so asked to be seated in the brighter front part of the restaurant which was fairly empty. The hostess refused and said those tables were all reserved. We sat down but were very unhappy. After a little while our waitress came and said we could move to another table. Why did they do that to us?Did we look unworthy and should be given the worst table there? See if you can get away with giving some early customer the bad table and save the better seats for later customers? Or give the Asian women the bad seats? Wtf? Another issue is that it took a very long time for our food to arrive. I would go back but be sure to ask for a table in the brighter part of the restaurant not behind the wall.
Lovely quick meal
Before the theatre. Dine out menu so couldn’t try a lot. Tasty, friendly and a half step up from casual family neighbourhood joint.
The best dineout I've been to! Good portion sizes and tasty Asian fusion cuisine. The squid ink pasta is delicious, I would recommend adding the uni special for extra creamy- goodness!
Food was absolutely amazing. Only thing that was a bit disappointing was the chicken Seoul good ( the other appetizers were better) and the size of the matcha tart.
Otherwise, the best pasta I ever had and best creme brûlée. Would go back just for those two items
Came for dine out and the food was superb. Good portions, very tasty and great value.
I love this place! All because of the delicious food! I cant wait to come back.
Good food and great service. Nice decor. Good location
Lovely as always. I’ve been back a few times for dinner and each time has been very delicious. The menu lives up to their promise of fusion cuisine. Plus, I just want to eat their uni-versal xo pasta dish forever.
Dine out - chicken appy was great! We all ordered and thoroughly enjoyed it. The adobo duck confit entree was flavourful. The uni pasta dish was delicious but the noodles were overcooked. Matcha cheese tart was to die for but so small! Good service from our waitress.
Great innovative food and lovely attentive service!
The Dine Out Vancouver menu offered a good selection. The steak with the miso gravy was flavourful and delightful. The long-awaited uni pasta with the fresh uni upgrade could have used a sprinkle of salt on the uni and egg yolk to elevate their flavour. The prawns, however, were over-cooked and over-seasoned. Our reservation was for 8:45 and I wondered why they didn’t offer us the Happy Hour drink menu from 9 onwards. Otherwise, the service was friendly.
We ordered the chicken Seoul good, uni pasta, iron steak and frites, love u so matcha (matcha tart), and the creme brulee. The entree portions were more than enough. No need to upgrade the matcha tart to regular size.
Chicken Seoul good: smells great! Taste was average. Couldn't taste the truffle. Could only smell it.
Uni pasta with shrimp (added $7 for 2 pieces of fresh uni): could not taste the uni in the sauce or the fresh pieces. The pasta was semi cold (another table ordered a few of these and all of them were saying the same thing and asked the hostess. The hostess confirmed it's not supposed to be cold). 3 out of the 4 shrimps were super salty (even to my husband and he eats on the saltier side)
Matcha tart: go for the dine out size. I added $5 for the regular size and it was too heavy for the 2 of us to share.
Creme brulee: best dish of the night. It is a bit different than the other creme brulees we had (in a good way).
Great service and fantastic food! All staff were attentive and great costumer service.
In the middle of dining, we were asked to move to the next table, so that they could accommodate a big group, then as a thank you each of us received complementary drink ticket! We will definitely go back!
The meal was excellent.tasted great, and was presented nicely. Very original menu!
The menu is perfect and has something for everyone. The ambiance is very warm and welcoming. Service was exceptional. Great place for family and business event!
Loved the atmosphere, the nicest and sweetest server, and the food was absolutely delicious! We especially loved the Chicken Karaage and Arancini... and of course the matcha tart and creme brûlée and the alcoholic beverage with the popsicle!
Went as part of dine out. Food was ok, not great. It lacked depth and flavours.
Drinks came in after we had nearly finished our appetizer, then we waited a long time for desert. The place was not super busy so there were no good reason for the issues with timing. Overall disappointing.
Our main dishes took forever to come out. A pasta dish was brought out extremely like warm. It must have sat foe a whole before it go to our table. I told the server about it. They insisted on bringing us a new one even though we said we weren’t interested in waiting again. They did it anyways and the new one came out FAST. And very nice and hot. The food quality was very mediocre if not less. Pasta was over cooked. The duck confit was overdone. The appetizers were the only things we enjoyed and they were very good. Some chicken karaage like dish and a vegan item.
Really tasty food, the flavours were all there and portions were excellent for dine out... You didn't still feel hungry or overly full after. Only thing was that it took quite a while to get our food, the wait between courses was longer than expected. Dinner service took around 2.5 hours. Other than that, really great service from the waitresses, the ambiance was nice & the food had some fun names and tasted great!
