Depending on what you want: Rockefeller Room is very classy, and classically upscale. The food was good, but not spectacular. The service, on the other hand, was outstanding.

One of the most enjoyable dining experience we have had in recent years. Excellent service and attentiveness from start to end. Dinner was excellent. Cannot wait to go back again

Great food and dining experience! Had strawberries, which were out-of-season, yet ripe and delicious here. Derrick was our server, and he was very friendly and attentive to everything we needed.

Very nice quiet Dinner in the Rockefeller Room of the Williamsburg Inn. The guest services manager Michael O’Heir made the evening extra special when I asked him whether he may have any bottles of our favorite dessert wine a Sauternes from Chateau d’Yquem and Michael said “but of course let me check which vintages we have and he returned with a couple half-bottles of very nice vintages of 1995 and 1996. It was a fantastic pre-valentine dinner. Thanks Michael.

The food was excellent and the service was too. All four of us enjoyed the atmosphere. We found it interesting that not everyone followed the dress code, but we did.

Wonderful experience, great for special occasions. Fantastic service.

Our waiter was David. Really Fin! He was attentive, without hovering and being bothersome. We enjoyed the crab cake we shared to begin, our entrees (1 steak, 1 scallops), and we really enjoyed our desserts (1 Rockefeller Chocolate, 1cheesecake). My adult daughter said it was the best steak she had ever had! I said, in my hotel review, that this weekend at the Inn and supper at The Rockefeller Room were my birthday gift to my daughter. She said that it was the best birthday ever!

Outstanding service!

My husband and I ordered the same entree- scallops. It arrived luke warm. The scallops were much too salty - to the point of inedible. The accompaniments were “unusually “ mismatched. The tastes did not go together. Biggest waste of $250. Room 2012 Jan 18,2020. We are donors

The Inn is trying to maintain it's history and reputation but it is too bad they feel the need to relax their dress code. Guys in pullovers will never cut it in my mind in a white tablecloth restaurant.

Food borders on innovative but selections are somewhat limited. Presentation and flavor are top notch. Superior wine selections and understated attentive service make for a relaxing enjoyable evening.

I was looking for a romantic restaurant to take my girlfriend to and I came across The Rockefeller Room. The pictures and description on their website did not do it justice. The service, the food, the ambiance, and value was spot on. I have traveled many places around the world and I would highly recommend any and everyone to experience one of the finest restaurants I have ever had the pleasure to dine.

We were absolutely blown away by the food and the speed of service. Both exceptional.
We were in town for the Marriage Retreat hosted by the Navy. Our dining experience was part of our "date night" part of the retreat, we were also celebrating our Anniversary.
We presented two vouchers paid for by the Navy for our dining experience at the beginning of our dinner. The waitress said to keep them until after dinner. All was fine. However, she brought us the bill and we put them in the book as asked. When she saw we put them in the book for her to take, her friendly demeanor and attitude completely changed to stand off-ish and an attitude of contempt. And the tip wasn't the problem. We provided a fine cash tip on top of the vouchers.
It was a great experience overall but we left feeling like we were looked down upon for using the vouchers provided to us by the Navy.

Beautiful decorations for the Christmas Season were still up in the front of the Williamsburg Inn. Food and service was excellent. Only issue was salmon seemed a tad underdone, but it was the chef's recommendation. I prefer it to be cooked a bit more. Even so, it was delicious. Service was exceptional. Cauliflower soup and crab cake appetizer were excellent. Everything first rate.

We have been to the Rockefeller Room in the past and as usual it was excellent! The food and service were wonderful and the atmosphere while formal is always comfortable-looking forward to our next visit.

What an amazing property and restaurant. From the valet to the busser the service was outstanding. Cecil was our server and he was lovely. The food was amazing. I would skip the dessert, just okay and after the incredible meal, it was not necessary.

We were on our Honeymoon and the staff was remarkable, our waiter Charles was outstanding. Nice atmosphere and our meal was great!

While the space is beautiful, the food fell short of the ambience. Portions were too large for a formal setting and not cooked to perfection (as the price paid for the meal should dictate). The staff were all pleasant and professional but not overly engaged. It will be a while before we return to that room for dining as it fell short of the high expectations we had for its location and reputation.

It was a fantastic experience. The food and service were outstanding. The ambience and setting were magnificent. The outside of the end was decorated for Christmas and it was beautiful. Can’t wait to go back again.

New Year's Day meal for three of us and each of us loved everything about the experience. This is perhaps the last restaurant with even a vestige of grace and elegance. The food was excellent, particularly the pork belly special of the day and our waitress was knowledgeable and helpful without being obtrusive. The only very slight downer was a rather loud table nearby but that wasn't the restaurants fault. Sure would be nice if people dressed appropriately for a restaurant of this sort, again not the Inn's fault, just a sign of the times.

Lovely room, nice staff. But food was all disappointing. Crab cake was overwhelmed with garnishes because it had no flavor (but I'm a Md. girl); scallops had crust that was salty beyond belief (I had to scrap off); didn't bother ordering dessert based on entrees.
Very expensive (one appe, 2 entree, wine, coffee) $161 before gratuity.

Outstanding food, service, and accommodations. High end dining with the quality and creativity. Holds up to its reputation and the awards are well deserved.

Barrick was our waitperson. He did outstanding service. Polite and there to meet our needs my wife had the salmon. She said was some of the best she’s ever had. My lamb was awesome. Pleasantly done well. We split the cardamom cheese cake. A different experience. Overall was a n exceptional evening. Thanks for providing us with such an outstanding evening. A great way to end our 5 days in colonial Williamsburg

Very nice holiday dinner. Excellent service.

This was supposed to be one of the highlights of our week in Williamsburg and it turned out to be the worst meal and most expensive. This was very disappointing for my husband and myself as well as our friends. I ordered the filet "medium" and it came rare to medium rare AND not one petite filet but three small strips of meat that were not very good at all. All of us complained about the saltiness of our food. We felt very bad for the waiter because he was very nice. The manager came over to chat with us and did offer desserts and coffee at no charge to compensate for our meal. It is a pretty place but I would recommend that you have a drink at the bar and then eat at one of the restaurants in Merchant Square.
