Very quiet due to current situation.
Food delicious and well presented. We have been before and will go again (when we are able!)

Really enjoyed the menu and food. Scotch egg and venison stew were particularly good.

Food and service was excellant. All Covid-19 compliant. Customer safety and housekeeping was fully adhered to. Super hosts.

Simple pub food done well! They don’t mess around pretending to be a gastro pub so you’ll get your food on a plate. I think the prices are pretty reasonable, steak was £20 but this included veg👍🥦. Service is always good here, but informal.

Very friendly comfortable pub. Easy parking, good beer, good food.

The food was absolutely delicious. Very generous portions and would definitely recommend the mouthwatering vegetarian lasagne (definitely freshly made definitely not from a packet) and the indulgent rich sticky toffee pudding.

Staff were very polite and helpful.

Very good hygiene measures in place with current Covid Pandemic.

I have been to The Royal Oak about six times in the past few months, usually for lunch, but also for dinner.
I cannot find fault with the food. Everything has always been absolutely delicious. It appears that all meals are homemade and very fresh, big portions and great value kids meals too.
The staff are also very friendly and efficient. Would highly recommend.

We are lucky enough to be within walking distance to five very good pubs which all serve good food, wines and real ales. Some are a little more expensive than others. However, the best steaks that are always cooked to your liking and melt in your mouth are served at the Royal Oak. The Sea Bass is also a lovely well prepared and tasty dish.
Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

Very disappointed. Especially during these times you would think a venue would have a welcoming atmosphere but sadly this was not the case.

We literally felt like the outsiders in the local pub wearing a neon sign on our heads.

Food was really disappointing. We didn't even stay for an hour.

Service and food always excellent. Have already booked a table next week.

Four of us eating and every meal was delicious. If we lived nearer then we would make a point of going back

Open View booking was not received for us and multiple others. As a result the restaurant was unable to accommodate with all tables at full capacity, and we - with a small child - were turned away having made a booking in advance.

Great food, great service... good social distancing - what more could you want?

Excellent steak & yummy sticky toffee pudding-really good .

Lunched here for the very first time & I'll certainly be back. Track & trace paperwork was in place, tables at a good distance apart, staff wearing masks making the whole experience relaxing.
The staff were welcoming & attentive. The food was very good value for the money. Some items on the menu included smaller portions which was a plus......meaning room for the dessert !!!

If you're looking for an amazing steak, look no further. Best sirloin I've ever had. Had the Scotch Eggs as a starter too, which were very tasty as well.

The service was excellent and the food was very good. We appreciated that some meals came in different sizes to cater for different size appetites. The staff were very welcoming and efficient.

Wonderful to see the Sunday Lunch business reappearing post covid. Excellent offer, good quality food from great ingredients. Staff are fun! Venue is superb and the pub is getting a feel about it that is comfortable and enjoyable. Good beer too!

The Royal Oak staff were very courteous and quietly attentive. The Covid-19 measures they have in place are very good and were strictly adhered to by all customers and bar staff. The food choices on the menu catered for everyone. The quality and quantity of the dishes my wife and I enjoyed were just right. The team have worked hard to provide a very enjoyable evening out. Incredible food! Probably the best food I’ve ever had from a pub, restaurant quality and the staff are absolutely lovely. I’ve already booked another table for next week.

We always love to visit The Royal Oak, as Paul and his staff are so very welcoming. It's a lovely old 'traditional' pub with great food and service at very reasonable prices.

This was our first meal out since lockdown although the pub was very quite the service was good and the food was excellent. Would certainly recommend The Royal Oak for a good meal
