Excellent food, very fresh
Friendly service
Would recommend Sandbar for their Happy hour, good food, ambience and value.
We felt very safe, well distanced, great service and the food was excellent. It has been one of our favourite restaurants to go to at any time for lunch or dinner. Sit by the fireplace or by the windows with great views overlooking the water.
Brandon wad amazing and was very knowledgeable of the menu and tastes. He made my wife feel very special on her birthday
Great food, atmosphere and friendly service. I would eat here again.
Birthday lunch was enjoyed on the heated patio. Seafood hot pot and pasta vongole were both excellent.
Gluten free options clearly marked on menu. Wonderful view. Miranda our server was very helpful.
One of my favourite restaurants on Granville Island. Food is consistently good and the service was very good. We were there for a casual dinner after spending the afternoon on Granville Island. Would recommend the Seafood Pot and the Tuna Poke Bowl - both were excellent.
brilliant all round. Staff, food, ambiance all brilliant
We really enjoyed our 1st dining experience with Sandbar. The food and desert (belgian chocolate pudding) are very delicious. We also enjoyed the live music in the background. It's worth coming back!!
Lobster was well cooked (steamed). But quite small for 69$. Server tried a little too hard but was very good at following the table throughout the night.
Fish was undercooked. The waiter did not check if the meals were okay and it took at least5 minutes to get his attention so we could return the fish to the kitchen. He then suggested that the fish could be recooked, we suggested a new piece of fish would be more appropriate. The second piece of fish was much better. The evening was disappointing,it was my husband’s birthday,my dinner was fine ,his poor. We have been going to the Sandbar for 20 years during our visits to Vancouver and this was the worst dinner and service we have ever experienced.
We had such a great experience. It was my partner’s 40th birthday and the staff were so accommodating as to our seating arrangements. The food, as usual, was incredible and cooked to perfection. The highlight was the live music of a single artist that played guitar. He was top notch quality and created such a great ambience for our evening. Thank you for a memorable and special evening!
Awesome as always! Still my favorite seafood restaurant in Vancouver.
The restaurants ambience was perfect.
The service from the minute we arrived was fantastic.
The food was delicious and perfectly cooked.
The wine list is extensive and hard to choose from because it had so many of my favourites. I can not wait to go back to the Sandbar!
Good food, nice place!
Our waitress was so kind! She even got us the name of the wine we were drinking on a piece of paper. I don’t have her name but we were there at 4pm on Saturday January 02nd, not too far from the bar, and she has blond wavy shoulder hair, and we want the management to know that she is great!
Thanks for the good time at your restaurant :)
Food was good. Portions small.
One crab cake was small.
Too much batter on the fish.
Fried Oysters were too battered and well done.
Steak had lots of fatty edges.
I had Arctic Char and it was good, the fish was done right. It is a small portion for small eaters and it was perfect for me.
Our Server Tommy like always did a great job and made our new year dinner a blast both with his service and personality.
Always a good meal, great atmosphere & staff, really obvious care and attention to COVID protocols without it seeming dystopian and weird. Our server Brandon J. (sp?) went over & above.
Food was delicious and service was great. Loved the music. Not the best table but we enjoyed our evening over all
We booked late and did not have a lot of choices for a seating. Picked 5:00 and are so happy that we took that time, due to new restrictions on restaurants, bars and private and government liquor and wine stores. Sandbar called all people with reservations 8 and on to give them the option of cancelling. Happy New Year! Our server was polite , knowledgeable and congenial. No hovering. We had the lobster bisque and salmon carpaccio. Both were excellent, but as usual our eyes were bigger than our stomachs. Our mains were the Ahi Tuna Bowl and the Linguini Vongole and for dessert Cheesecake to share. All very good and will be ordered again...
New Year’s Eve brunch on the patio - very comfortable and abiding by COVID rules felt lovely to have a sense of normalcy of a type
This is always our go to place, from the food to the staff have never been disappointed and the location is perfect.
We haven't been out much during covid but wanted to do something special for our anniversary. The restaurant felt so clean and safe. They really have the protocol down. Not to mention they took such good care of us with complimentary prosecco and dessert. The food was wonderful (awesome sushi) and they have a great wine list, all the while you can enjoy the beautiful views of Burrard Inlet and the city.
Food was good. Not too much selection. Can be very noisy. Service was top notch.
Great food and service! The views were incredible
Overall, the restaurant is good except that the table I had is just facing the pile of the bridge, blocking the view of false creek
Excellent food as always. Definitely my favorite spot in Vancouver
Dinner on Christmas Eve was delicious! It was a full house despite the pandemic but I felt for the most part safety protocols were followed (eg. servers wearing masks, etc). My only concern was that tables can be spaced out more. I wouldn’t want to be seated in the middle tables where two large groups were sitting on the either side. Staff was able to accommodate our request to move to a different table. Food was delicious and service was a top notch. Thank you for making our Christmas Eve special!
The heated patio seating is lovely for the view but a bit chilly at times. They have done a really good job with outdoor heaters but my legs were a bit chilly. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. The tables themselves are a bit small so it feels a bit crowded with four around a table. We took out 13 year old and our 11 year old. It is a bit pricey for a family meal but worth it if you want something special, which we did.
Such a nice relaxing dinner with very attentive staff and lovely food. My husband's sable fish was cooked to perfection and my seafood hot pot in a curry sauce was excellent (it was only missing a side of rice which was requested by me and brought very quickly). There was no bread for my husband's soup which was not provided because of Covid 19? Not sure why that is when a bakery is steps away in the market and could be served easily? But, according to the waiter, was not available, except foccacio bread, which does not really go well with a hearty clam chowder. These are but details for an excellent seafood meal in front of a roaring fire with a great bottle of Burrowing Owl Pinot Gris on Christmas Eve. A nice, cozy dinner with very good service. Bravo.
Wonderful ambience.. professional staff great food... superb views
I love the ambience and the atmosphere is one of my favorite top 5. Service was great the food really good, I'll just maybe would like to have more options as main course. Great selection of cocktail and wine.
Excellent as usual. I love the food there always really fresh and great service. Totally recommend👌
It was my first time to visit the restaurant. The service was good and very friendly.
This was our first dinner out in months bc of covid. The safety precautions were great and we felt at ease with everything. The food was very good and the service. We will be back again and real soon. It was nice to regain some sanity due to covid restrictions.
Support our local businesses like this one when they make the effort to protect everyone's well-being, including their staff.
We had a great time there and food was amazing!!!
I booked this restaurant because it overlooks the place where my wife and I first met. We were celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary and with current global events we were not in Paris as we were originally planning. However, that being said, we had a fantastic experience at The Sandbar. Our server was amazing and the food was top notch. I would absolutely recommend The Sandbar to anyone who enjoys seafood. I should also give a shout out to the pianist. An amazing musician. Thank you everyone who participated in making our anniversary a special one.
Fantastic service and food was delicious especially the squid appy.
It’s our favourite restaurant, we go there every year for my girlfriends birthday. We love the food always on point and the service is phenomenal.
