The food let the venue down. As an example- the ploughman’s lunch was appalling. It looked like it had been thrown together from a few things that were found in the fridge.
The zucchini bowl was probably the best of our four meals.

Better if there was table service, which was available some months ago.

As always, this pub delivered! Very friendly service, great casual ambience and terrific food at a great price. The menu is not too complicated but offers enough variety to please everyone.

The Standard is always one of my favourite pubs, the staff are friendly and quick, there are great beers on tap and the atmosphere is good. The food is generally better than other pubs in the area but on this one occasion my steak was over cooked. That’s not normally the case though.

The mighty Standard always delivers. A great local, atmosphere always good, and food delish. Reduced menu due to covid restrictions I imagine, but still good and enough choice to suit all dietary requirements.

Amazingly considerate table staff. So good at accommodating our run-on booking. Honestly, they have such a good team at the Standard. Very kind, clear communication when last drinks were, and how much time we had to consume said drinks. Food was great too.

I've been gong to the Standard for years, and these last few months out of lockdown, pubs have been vital to getting people back together. The staff at the Standard have been bloody awesome and I'm sure have also been under a lot of stress trying to accomodate the public's high expectations. So props to the Standard for being a sanctuary in tough times!

On a very busy day of the year The Standard Hotel was good value. Beer, food, service were all good. As long-term customers we'll be back again.

Given the venue and staff were working within space and time restrictions they handled it really well. The drinks and food were terrific as always. Well done guys.

The beer garden was a huge surprise, really well done & a great vibe. The food was delicious, the wait staff were all friendly & managed to find us another table once our booking was up. I’ll definitely be heading back at some point! Great selection of beers on tap too
