Very good service and very good food!
Gorgeous cocktails, delicious food and very friendly and efficient staff. Gorgeous smokies to start. Was a bit disappointed the ribs weren’t more tender but apart from that everything was fab. Will definitely return when it’s permitted again.
Outstanding service, tasteful environment. Very nice evening. Can’t wait to go back
Really good food and great service.
Waitress was worth the visit alone.
Great food and service. And lovely atmosphere too!
very enjoyable especially in current circumstances. Staff were friendly and efficient. Food was nice.
Friendly staff, pleasant surroundings and good food. Careful attention to Covid-19 details too. We will be back!
Great food, great staff, and a very relaxing fun atmosphere.
Not crazy expensive either, will definitely be back .
It was an exceptional experience. We would highly recommend it. Dan P
delicious meal, highly recommend the smokies as a starter!
Always a lovely experience with great food and service
Delighted to have this lovely restaurant back open.
Excellent food, excellent service, it is in our top3 Dublin restaurants.
It was just brilliant!!!
The Sussex never fails to be outstanding... The food is fresh the atmosphere is relaxed
Exquisite food and stuff, with reasonable prices. Highly recommended.
Big fan of here..great food and service. A go to place for me every time
Fabulous food, great service. Always friendly and welcoming
The best fish & chips ever! We visit Dublin from Wales once a year and the Sussex is always a must, the ambiance, the staff and of course the food is top notch.
Was absolutely brilliant great atmosphere great food great service, we will be back there again, would advise people to try it out
Upstairs restaurant is not the rowdy pub that one may expect to find in Dublin, but it was a nice break from the Temple Bar crowd. My wife and I enjoyed the shepherd's pie and the fish and chips.
Upstairs and up scale food for diners looking for a solid meal off a menu offering options for all. Service at arrival, at the table and at departure was wonderfully friendly to our LGBT group. If you're in Dublin venture out a bit and give The Sussex a visit.
Staff were lovely would defo recommend here. I’ll be back x
Get place, would highly recommend! The waiter was wonderful he was as very attentive and nothing was too much.
A reliable lunch spot with a lot of choice. I chose badly this time.
Consistent good food and service. Very tasty and would not hesitate to recommend.
I enjoy going to the Sussex restaurant. Service is always excellent. There was one group on a table near us who were excessively loud. Can't really blame the restaurant for that but it was annoying. I ordered the ribeye which was cooked to order. I had my doubts later if was ribeye as it was too lean....just an observation not a complaint. In general would fully recommend the Sussex.
Really lovely welcome, great owner/manager and waiting staff. Fab table with window view in hub of busy bar and great Saturday night vibe. Food was extremely tasty, local ingredients, lovely steaks. And excellent wine. Thoroughly recommend.
Amazing food and great staff
Really nice cosy space, food was great, wine good choices and staff friendly and relaxed. Overall a great experience, would go back.
The Sussex is always dependable for good food in a good atmosphere and even in the madness of Christmas they manage to maintain their very good quality which has to be commended.
Great food and lovely surroundings. No vegetarian options on the menu but were provided on request and was excellent. Would recommend having a drink at the restaurant bar rather than in the pub below particularly on a rugby night!
Lovely food, atmosphere and excellent service
Lovely ambience. The staff were very courteous. Lovely well price Sauvignon Blanc. Shared the calamari started which was perfect. I loved my linguini seafood but my husband was very disappointed with the beef burger which he said was too dry. Chips were not great either. A lovely celebration for us despite those observations.
Lovely restaurant above a pub. Cosy atmosphere but made a nice change to the nearby hotel where I was staying for business.
Food looked good and was flavoursome, although I found the duck a bit fatty. I had mentioned a couple of times and made sure when I ordered that the dish needed to be gf - sadly the dish was brought out with a non-gf item, which did slightly spoil my enjoyment of the dish. I ordered the panna cotta for dessert- the only gf dish. This was rather solid and didn’t have the ‘wobble’ factor that I would expect from a panna cotta - but the cardamom flavouring was delicious .
Having enjoyed an evening meal I returned for lunch. Restaurant was uncomfortably cold and although the Sheperd's Pie was tasty it did not deserve the €17.95 price. Very small portion with a few of salad leaves on the side - no vegetables. Dissappointing.
Always a fantastic meal, service and atmosphere
Excellent chowder. Overall the Sussex lived up to expectations. Won't disappoint.
Everything about our experience was outstanding, except for the presence of an extremely noisy group whose raucous behavior was wholly inappropriate for such a nice restaurant. It would have been nice if management had told them to keep their interactions to a dull roar. As it happened, they adversely affected our experience and that of the diners at several tables around us, causing almost all to end our meals — and pass on ordering more food and drink — earlier than we otherwise would have.
