I can’t tell you anything, because it was close. Totally close. So we went to terrapin that is a restaurant on a church. Very good, different. Good service. American food. Steak sandwich excellent.

Great food (mostly classics with a nice range of options). Cozy environment, especially in the winter when the fireplace in the lobby is roaring. Friendly service. Always a favorite. Thank you!.

We also enjoyed the live instrumentalist. It added to our enjoyment of the evening.

Great time and food, came back to the tavern at night and had drinks and food at the bar , bartender Chelsea and all the staff were great!

Lovely, historic spot in the middle of Rhinebeck, NY. Food was delicious and cocktails excellent.

The food was outstanding, service is great, unintrusive.

Lovely room with a fireplace! My (our) only complaint was the music was too loud! Speaker was right over our table in the corner and made it challenging at times with cross conversation. I would suggest more appropriate music for the setting, too and age group of dining patrons!
The food was excellent and the wait staff, especially our waitress was very personable & engaged!
We will back in January, for another Family birthday member dinner celebration! As was last nights occasion.
It’s a halfway point, about 90 minute drive each couple!

This is very easy to write. The restaurant , the service, the food, and of course the setting is outstanding. Meet friends here often never disappointed on the contrary always satisfied.

The food was excellent, the service was slow, and unorganized.
The waitresses try their best but there was no one to supervised them

There seems to be some confusion as to whether my party attended.

Visited with my husband during a fall weekend trip upstate from NYC. I had the short rib pot roast and he had the short rib stroganoff. Both were in the top 5 meals we have ever eaten in our lives! Amazing flavor, piping hot, delicious sides. And incredible carrot cake for dessert! The perfect fall meal in a cozy inn. Service was ehh but we weren’t in a rush. Friendly people, casual, historic atmosphere. Highly recommend.

Considering how many staff members were on duty, the service was extremely poor. The food was fair. However, neither the soups, the appetizer, nor the entrees were hot when delivered. Our server was absent for the majority of our dining experience, and we overhead other tables commenting similarly.

Great atmosphere and good service. Food was just ok and not worth the price.

Cozy and quiet. We chose an evening when the restaurant was empty. It was to our benefit as we had exceptional service. Adrian our server was wonderful. We had a leisurely meal and everyone was accommodating and friendly.

Amazing waitstaff! Accommodated our party of two toddlers and our service dog comfortably inside at a private corner. Wonderful food and experience and we’ll definitely be back! PS: Try the bourbon cider!

Loved everything, but especially the service. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. Singing happy birthday to my husband was a nice touch!

Enjoyed the "historic" setting of this restaurant, and the variety of items on the lunch menu. Service was impeccable.

Wait staff is attentive, kind and not too chatty. My mussels were a little small but tasty sauce. It’s always nice to dine at the Beek!

I would have given 5 star across the board - I tried a new cocktail & really didn’t care for it .

Nice outside space considering the pandemic restrictions. We were greeted in a timely way, but afterwards service was very slow. New waitstaff was being trained so that might account for all the delays. Drinks came after 20 minutes. Food was very mediocre and not a good value for the price. Salad was bland and panini was dry, fries were warm not hot and overall it was disappointing. Will not return.

The food was overpriced for being so extremely bland. Our drinks took longer to come than our appetizers and we ordered drinks at least 10 minutes before the appetizers. Service was great, but would not return.

Food is hit or miss, you never know. Outside under the tent due to COVID the staff has all the safety protocols down to a science, an outstanding job! Made us feel very safe and comfortable. Better than anywhere else I have eaten - on both sides of the river. Food - very bland, needs salt and herbs when cooking. I had turkey sandwich pannini, the turkey meat was very bland. Had cranberry chutney (just cranberries, no nuts, orange peel, no sweetness - very tart and unpleasant). It also had brie and watercress, sandwich was not hot enough to melt the brie - taste was bland, bitter, tart, and funky from the brie - it needed so much more. The french fries were good. The pot pie was so-so, could do better at home. The biscuit topping was very good. Dessert was very good - they must have a separate chef for desserts and baking? When I commented about the lack of seasoning and sweetness for the chutney, I was told the chef doesn't like to use salt or sugar - says this is the way to cater to his customers. I think there is a way to cater to all customers.
Overall, the staff is 5 stars plus. Maybe order a cheese plate, a salad, and a dessert and you will be satisfied - stay away from the main items.
Note* last time I ate there (pre-virus) the food was fine. Hit or Miss for food.

In this era of Covid, it’s hard to say anything but fine. The overall atmosphere and rules have taken so much of the fun and joy out of the dining out experience.

Lovely under a tent. Live music. Service extremely slow but we were fortunately not in a hurry! We will be back.

Our favorite place to eat on special occasions! We always know that we will get good food and service.
