The Travis - Lakeway Resort & Spa
Had a great time with family here!
I had ask for a round table with a view. We received neither. Although the food was good, it was nothing special for the price and unfortunately wasn’t hot.
We went for Father's Day on a Sunday and they had a buffet or your could order off the menu. We ordered off the menu and had a great lunch. Really enjoyed the atmosphere, restaurant and staff.
Very pleased. Good food, attentive service and overall excellent value for money.
Breakfast is buffet. That is made abundantly clear as are reservations required. Reservations weren’t required the place was empty.
We say that the “buffet” is abundantly clear because despite the allacarte menu you will be reminded at every turn that the buffet is there. Personally not liking buffets. I prefer allacarte. My dining companion wanted an omelette. He was told to go to the buffet they make omelettes there. I opted for eggs Benedict. His omelette was allegedly less expensive if he went to the buffet. That’s not accurate but a matter of two dollars is not worth quibbling.
The eggs Benedict presentation was well presented but it is apparent in this resort that no one tests their recipes before they are unloaded on the public. The drinks at the pool bar were no exception. The eggs Benedict while beautifully presented had vinegary hollandaise sauce and very hard ham/ Canadian bacon.
We would have liked to be sat outside but we were sat next to an obnoxious group that were overtly speaking loudly and so honestly this was not a great experience. The buffet is abundant and very nicely presented however, we got what we came for nothing more. The prices were comparable to food outside the resort. Service was meh.
Great views of the lake but the food was bad and over priced!
Very friendly staff, but the food wasn’t seasoned well. I’d like to have more options for filet sauces- the three sauces they offer are really similar, and I did not enjoy. It would be nice to see a béarnaise or blue cheese option for the steak. The desserts were delicious, and the view of the lake is beautiful.
we had a reservation for valentine's day and were a bit late because the restaurant is kind of hidden within the resort. none the less, we were seated immediately and the service was excellent! we both had ribeye which was tender and very flavorful. we also had the cheesecake that was delicious! we will definitely return!
Zile was very attentive. Caught an error on bill that saved us $48! Crab cakes fabulous. Salmon Not Fishy😁! Would go with flourless chocolate cake. Good for Gluten free 😍.
We stayed at the resort and didn’t want to leave the property so decided to eat here. The ambiance was nice as was the view. Our server, Cherry, was friendly, professional and attentive. She made good suggestions. We loved the tortilla soup, calamari and redfish. The mashed potatoes and dessert could use some work. All in all, it was exactly what we were looking for, and we were happy to have a good dining option at the resort so we didn’t have to venture out.
I wrote in my reservation that it was my fiance's birthday. Nobody on the staff seemed to know. Not sure if this was a glitch in software or people not paying attention?
Easy walk from the hotel and beautiful outdoor seating. Both the waitress and host were very accommodating and polite, with a good sense of humor. The best part is the view of the lake and dessert. The food was okay, but definitely not the reason we would return. You pay for the atmosphere.
The food was delicious and Jeannette was wonderful.
Didn’t honor our reservation, all food was cold
The service was outstanding. I had a filet ordered medium rare. It was a little on the rare side but melt-in-your-mouth. The grilled artichoke appetizer is a must have. And it's a rare find for happy hour - 4-7 seven days a week.
This place has improved considerably! We've always loved sitting outside and seeing the sunset over the water. Now the food and service are worth going for! The South African hospitality program servers are wonderful.
While staying at Lakeway we went for dinner early at about 6:00. We sat and they had a buffet available which we decided to eat. We ordered a cocktail and a beer and 20 min later after I asked several servers the drinks finally appeared. Way too long to wait in drinks!!!! Mexican buffet actually was good. Nothing spectacular but good.
Based off of the bio on open table and yelp I chose this place for our 11th year wedding anniversary. Since we are new to the area thought it would be nice to see the local resort. Finding the restaurant was a challenge, no direction what so ever. Was treated very nicely. View was great. But the restaurant sits over the kids swimming pool. The atmosphere was not very nice, reminds me of just basic hotel restaurant, dark, windows were very dirty, needs to be upgraded. The service was very good and the food was very good. Their cheese board needs a lot of help though, they should really look into that. Their Filet was outstanding and my husband had their pork chop and he said it was the best pork chop he has ever had. If we came back we would sit at the bar because the rest of the restaurant area is not worth looking at.
Mother’s Day. We didn’t do the main buffet event just the normal dining room. I will return to the restaurant
Ok restaurant. I had higher expectations for the quality of the food and for the price it should have been better.
DELICIOUS!!! From the truffle fries to the generous portion of redfish to the flourless chocolate dessert, it was amazing!!!
Food was fresh, with great flavor. We sat outside, however it overlooks the pool with Lake Travis waters beyond and not quite next to the water experience.
Great place! Friendly staff! Please keep up the good work! Thank you! God Bless!
We enjoyed celebrating our 43rd Anniversary at TR overlooking Lake Travis. The service was excellent especially with the special attention from James (the maitre d?). Food was excellent- very fresh and tasty! Pretty good wine list and good atmosphere for relaxing with a glass of wine at end of day. Breakfast buffet is great and the restaurant is excellent for families. We recommend highly.
I was disappointed. As the only restaurant for a resort which advertises itself as 'luxury' resort it was mediocre at best. The food selection was lacking and mundane. The building and furnishings were in need of an update. There was no ambiance whatsoever. Anyone looking for menu items suitable for a special diet (vegan/GF/organic) will have a difficult time. I would not recommend this restaurant nor will I be returning again.
This hotel is attached to the Lakeway Resport and Spa. It is unmarked and parking is a bit off site as you share with hotel guests. The decor is older. It was never crowded the two nights we were there - about 1/4 full. The views are pretty nice, but it is right above the kid pool so you get to listen to them. We ordered the filet and it was to die for! VERY GOOD!
Overall experience was nice, but the food was not to my liking.
Delicious food, attentive service, fantastic view of Lake Travis!
Part of lake Travis resort. Excellent views and food. Not the place though if you're looking for lively noisy place.
The food was okay, did not wow us. But the service was great. Very friendly waitress took a great care of us. Wish there was vegetable option for kids menu besides fruits.
The food was awesome for Valentine's Day. We get married here 8 months from today! Can't wait!
Good place for breakfast .. Everyone in the family including the kids enjoyed the spread.
Overall it was an OK experience. We had early reservations for Christmas Eve and we were literally the only people there for a good 45 mins. We decided to have a drink at the bar before dining. Bar service was not good, but dining service was fine. I did have to send back sea bass (which I never do). It was the server' recommendation, but was not fresh at all. Bursts appetizer was great
My husband and I were staying at the hotel celebrating our anniversary. We were extremely disappointed with the food. Ribs were extremely dry. The filet mignon tasted like it had been heated in a microwave. The restaurant and hotel are situated in a beautiful setting. We made reservations for the restaurant, but they requested that we sit in the bar. Normally, it would not be a big deal, but it would have been nice to sit in the restaurant with the view. We made the decision not to eat at the restaurant for the rest of the weekend, because of how poor the food was.
We all ordered steaks - two medium rare and one medium well. All steaks came out well done. The seasoning was spot on but not cooked right. Two of the steaks were thin and the other was more of a typical filet mignon cut. The shrimp lettuce wraps and sautéed cremini mushrooms were very good. Red wine not chilled - served at room temp. Wine list could be better. Service nothing to write home about. Easy to get table on patio with a view. Convenient since we were staying at resort.
View is amazing, staff is very friendly. Interior is dated, service is slow and food is terrible. They should revise the menu to burgers, salad and bar food, and only offer and serve what they can deliver. 6 of our 7 meals were terrible and should not have left the kitchen. Very disappointing and costly.
Pricey menu with dry ribs and only 4 for a half rack( must have been a small chest.)
They nickel and you everything is extra. Would not recommend !
I thought I was going to a "Steakhouse," but it was the hotel's restaurant. Menu was varied enough to be interesting, and the service was good. However, I had to ask for a wine list, and when I had made my choice was informed that they were out. Three more choices - out of them. It was explained to me that they were switching over the wine menu and had used up the inventory. A little frustrating that that wasn't disclosed up front, and put a damper on the meal. Overall, though, the food was good - I just wouldn't make it my first choice again.
Lots of loud kids running around. Steak was tough and salad was missing 2. Out of 4 ingredients. Atmosphere is dated. Never going back.
The food was disgusting.
