The Union Grill - The Union Bluff Hotel

Food and drinks were fantastic very good quality and delicious. Service was excellent and the ambiance was perfect for a date night even in the midst of a pandemic.

We went to The Union Grill while visiting York from Boston. The service was amazing - just attentive enough, and so friendly. We sat by the fireplace, and it was incredibly cozy on a cold night in January. We highly recommend the burger, the mussels, and the clam chowder. YUM. The location can't be beat. And, in a time of COVID-19, this was our first indoor dining experience in 9 months, and the staff made us feel safe - they took all the proper precautions. I highly recommend, and we cannot wait to go back!

This is so cozy in the winter. Great atmosphere. Love the fireplace , dark wood tables, lighting. The service was very good but a tiny bit slow considering there weren't many people here. The food was delicious and presented very well. Got a really expensive rib eye with mashed and carrots - it was slightly undercooked but the gorgonzola sauce on the steak was too die for....so good. Had so much that it was also lunch the next day so definitely worth it. Good selection of oysters that were yummy and the shrimp was good as well. We did share a special chocolate dessert that was also great. The wine selection here is just ok not a great selection by the glass. The people here are locals and they treat you really well when you dine here.

We’ve dined here many times, and the service was always excellent. This time though it was not until we mentioned to the hostess that we have been waiting for nearly a half hour without so much as a glass of water. Obviously we had become lost in the mix as other tables seated after us were being served. This can happen, and was quickly remedied by a server who saved the day.

The food at the Union Grill is always wonderful. It is a quiet restaurant with a nice view of the ocean if you are by the windows, or a cozy corner by the fireplace. The service is always special and you are never rushed. The drinks are very enjoyable. Last night I had the crisp duck breast and my wife had the salmon. Both were delicious. We stop in here at least once every time we are in York Beach.

Food was terrible- overcooked halibut, soggy fish and chips

Probably the worst dining experience in years. Not enough help, disorganized, four people took our order, two plus hours to get an appetizer and burger, burger bun hard and stale, bill incorrect, a complete mess.

We go to the Union Grill almost every time we are in Maine. The food is always delicious, the service great and it is such a nice quiet place for dinner. The staff is very friendly and the specials are always tasty!!

Birthday dinner

WE have eaten here many times and the food is always delicious and the service is fantastic. The restaurant is so nice and quiet and charming. It is nice to just sit on one of the couches and enjoy a cocktail.

Peekytoe crab cakes were excellent.

My fish was delicious. My boyfriend had the chicken and he didn't care for it as it had way to much broth so that may have washed away any seasoning as he advised there was no taste to it. Drinks and service were great however. View was awesome!

We had a great seat by the window overlooking the beach and ocean and we could have a conversation without yelling across the table. Noise level is minimal. So nice! Food was very good, vegetables were fresh and cooked perfectly. Service was excellent! Everyone is always so pleasant and welcoming.

We have dined at the Union Bluff Grill several times and have never been disappointed. Food is meticulously prepared to the diner's specifications, the wait staff is exemplary, AND you can't beat the ocean view. Kudos to Union Bluff for continuous fine dining experiences.

We were pleased to be seated in a somewhat quiet corner near the fireplace since there was a bachelorette party going on in this cozy space. Our server, Karen, was exceptionally helpful with the cocktail and menu choices and the meal was quite nice. We started with the burrata salad which we shared, and thought was outstanding. We both had the grilled swordfish special served over mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach, and was very tasty, done to perfection and nicely presented. We'll definitely be back to see what other tasty delights the menu offers!

Dined on Thursday, April 18th. The (2)two filet mignons we ordered were outstanding, and cooked to perfection! Cannot wait to return. Service was first class!

We planned on eating in the bar, which we totally enjoy, but the bar was full. So, we ate in the dining room and had a really great time. The food, especially the fish, was fresh, filling and tasty. Service was really good, friendly. The bar for casual and the dining room a little more formal....both great food, ambiance and reasonable prices. We’ll be back for sure.

Enjoyed the ambiance. The tables were spaced far enough apart so you are not sitting on top of each other and listening to others conversations...unless you want to. Food was excellent, but the plating could use some work,

Secure a seat by the window and the views of Short Sands Beach are fabulous. The waitress was very friendly and the lobster was great. I didn’t care for the mussels so much but my husband liked them. We loved the crab cake - lots of lump meat crab like Maryland.

Arrived early but quickly accord by hostess. The staff where efficient but didn't rush you hover. The food came out as ordered and was a good size portion. Definitely will eat there again.

Food was great. No kids’ options/not kid friendly. Service was problematic but the restaurant management dealt with the issue appropriately.
