Simply wonderful. This was our fourth time at the Wine Kitchen on the Creek and the food was outstanding! Will definitely be back again!
I dined with four others and everyone enjoyed their meal and the service was superlative as always. However, on this occasion my ribeye was dry and mealy and overcooked, which was not much of a surprise because the steak was sliced so thin. Sadly it was the low point of the meal.
This is one of the most consistently excellent restaurants we have been to. From the moment you enter the door and are greeted with a smile and escorted to your table, to the wait staff explaining the specials, to taking your order and bringing your drinks, it’s all simply friendly and professional . The real treat and experience is when they bring your food..... always creative and amazing. We have tried most of their menu items and yes we have our favorites but we have yet to find something we were not happy with. This place is a real gem, congrats to the outstanding chef, management and front line wait staff. You should try it and see if you agree!
Very interesting setting- convenient parking across from the garage. Very nice staff. The acoustics were a little loud- taking the distance between chairs into account. Something I would expect in a large city environment- not really in Frederick. The cocktails were excellent, wine list was nice (and they do flights- even mezcal flights). Ordered filet- which was cooked as ordered- medium rare- potatoes were great. My Hot date ordered a fish entrée and loved it- and the dessert was great as well. Would absolutely return.
We usually enjoy the food, service and ambiance at the WC but not this time. The last time we ate here we had the porterhouse which was excellent and cooked to perfection so we recommended to our friends we brought with us. The porterhouse was cooked how I asked but barely warm, so much so that the seasoned butter on top did not melt. I didn't like the seasoning that was used in the butter. It tasted a bit like lime which I didn't think enhanced the flavor of the meat. The mashed potatoes were tepid and the green beans were undercooked and cold. The house salad however was very good, simple greens with a light dressing that was delicious. The service was very good. The noise level was very loud even though we were seated next to the restrooms out of the mainstream. It was very difficult to have conversation across the table. I would recommend this restaurant because we usually have a good meal when we go there and anyone can have a bad night.
We went here for my husband's birthday and they filled my table request and wrote a handwritten note thanking us for celebrating with them and provided a $10 off coupon for our next visit, very nice surprise and great personal touch. Food and service were great.
Fabulous food as always!
The service was outstanding! Very friendly and attentive staff. The food was excellent. We enjoyed every bite.
Beautiful presentation of delicious food and conscientious, friendly servers made our mid-week birthday dinner very enjoyable. I can't wait to go back!
The Wine Kitchen never disappoints! As usual the cocktails and food were incredible! The service was great! The atmosphere is wonderful. This is truly one of our favorite spots in downtown Frederick.
Although they have a great wine selection the food definitely fell short of my expectations. My dinner lacked the complexity I would expect from a restaurant in this price range.
The swordfish was fishy and part of it was raw. I asked the waiter if it was safe to eat and he said yes. The raw and strong fishy smell ruined this meal. My wife would not send it back. On the otherhand, my food was excellent
Have visited with my husband a little while ago and really enjoyed our dinner and the service. Went with a friend a fee days ago and was again very pleased with our dinner. The server was friendly and knowledgeable. Wish the prices were a bit lower, but I would still recommend this lovely restaurant.
Very nice restaurant seating overlooking the canal.
The food great.Would eat here again.
We had two wonderful meals here, and the people working there were fantastic! We will definately be going back next time we are in Frederick.
Wine Kitchen is our "go to" place in Frederick. We are never disappointed in chef Jeff's menu (which changes seasonally based on what he can get from local farmers), and the general manager, John, runs a great service team and keeps the wine list fun, interesting, and approachable. You can find everything from a value-driven Malbec to a single vineyard "blow your socks off" Barolo that might be the best wine you've ever tasted. Wine Kitchen gets bonus points because the servers take the time to get to you know you, and know us by name whenever we come. We'll be back very soon, thanks for another wonderful dinner!
Food overall was pretty good, but dinner came out cold so I sent it back and it came back cold again. Wasn't going to send it back once more so I just kept it moving since it didn't taste bad it was just cold. Manager gave a free dessert because of the mistake so that was nice.
We’ve been many times and really enjoy this restaurant. Unfortunately this experience wasn’t quite up to par compared to our other dining experiences.
Eat here. Mussels were fantastic. Duck breast dish was really tasty. Pumpkin pie outstanding. Service was excellent. We'll be back.
We've been coming to this Wine Kitchen location since it first opened and have never, ever been disappointed with the food and service. In fact, this is our true "Go To" spot in the Frederick area both for ourselves and when we have friends in town.
First off, the food is always creative and delicious without being overly fussy. The Wine list is ever changing but there is always something that goes with the food we order. An example would be two nights ago when dining here with friends and the food ordering crossed many different styles (Vegetarian, chicken fish and beef) and we still had no difficulty finding a bottle that went well with each dish. Kudos to a great wine program.
Finally, service has always been very good to outstanding. Although we are obviously 'regulars" we can't always count on a given server knowing us by sight. Yet, we have never had any issues.
Again, this place is well worth the visit. I can't imagine anyone being anything other than impressed. Bravo!
A lovely evening with friends and a terrific staff (kitchen and front). I wish the noise level was a bit more controlled. Maybe some decorations that absorb sound would help?
Birthday dinner for the boyfriend. Incredible food even better service. Our table was perfect and everything was timed perfectly and we were never rushed. We did pick six, delicious! Grilled octopus which was outrageous and the butcher flight which the birthday boy loved. Topped it off with the triple bubbly flight and the red carpet flight for a perfect evening.
Super dinner. Super environment. Super service. A wonderful evening.
Visited with a guest while in the area for a wedding. The staff was knowledgeable, professional, and responsive. There was something on the menu for everyone- vegetarian, seafood, beef, chicken all offeres with flavorful sides.
Great bday meal at one of our favorite restaurants! Never disappoints! Our server Hadden was amazing!
This was about the fifth time I've had lunch at The Wine Kitchen, but today was the first time I selected their daily special, which was cioppino. This seafood stew contained shrimp, mussels, halibut, and swordfish, seasoned delicately with white wine, tomato, and fennel that were identifiable. What made this stew sublime though is a mystery to me. It is by far the finest example of cioppino I've ever had. The chef deserves good notice for such an entry! Needless to say, I'll be going back again.
Great hospitality, cocktails
Really nice outdoor seating area. We arrived planning to eat dinner and have some wine. However after sitting there for more than 40 minutes we had only been offered wine and we decided to pay our check and walk to our favorite restaurant downtown, Firestone’s, and eat dinner there. The food is much better at Firestone’s and the service always reliable unlike the wine kitchen.
I have been to wine kitchen several times. On this visit, the food wasn’t as good as in the past. It was kind of disappointing. The waitress and drinks were amazing.
The food is outstanding and the wine fabulous. The service is excellent and we can’t wait to return. We live close to 2 hours away so we have to plan an occasion to coincide but it is well worth the effort.
The food was awesome as always, but the bar service is very slow. Our food came before the wine we ordered again!
We were thoroughly delighted with our experience at the Wine Kitchen. The restaurant even satisfied our San Francisco visitors, which is high praise!
The manager brought complimentary glasses of champagne to honor our Anniversary. Very classy.
I had the best burger and drink at The Wine Kitchen!
The flexibility of the staff as our guest list grew, the variety of appetizer, entree and dessert items, the wine and wine cards and the incredible service are all amazing. It is our go to place for almost anything!
Great meal and great service. The Chief is very creative and accommodating. Each course at the Wine Kitchen is done exquisitely.
It's very loud. Not great for a date night.
Pear gazpacho with crab was superb.
Tuna tacos were tasty.
Salmon was overcooked.
Pear dessert was super creative, stuffed with dates complemented by goat cheese and honey.
Always love the French press coffee.
Great, very creative cuisine and outstanding staff. We dined outside and and it couldn’t have been nicer.
Great food, excellent service. A bit pricey, but not ridiculous. The spare, modern decor is fine, but lack of sound absorbing elements does create an echo chamber so it is noisier than is necessary, even on less busy nights. Still, the slight drawbacks are completely smashed by some of the best food and service we have experienced in years! Highly recommend.
