Tin Lizard Brewing Co
Always great food!
Smoked meats are ok, but the sauces are terrible. Stick with the beer.
We both ordered platters one brisket very tender and the other pulled pork since they ran out of the chicken. Our server was okay. I would go back again
We wanted to try something within walking distance of our movie theater and nothing too extravagant. My husband suggested Tin Lizard. We were shown upstairs to an almost empty room. Downstairs is the bar and tables, upstairs is a roof deck and a few tables. For some reason staff kept going out to the roof deck (presumably to smoke) and leaving the door open. With the air conditioning blasting and the opened door it was very cold upstairs. There were plenty of available tables downstairs, why we were seated upstairs boggles the mind. Regardless, the menu is almost entirely red meat. I knew this going to the restaurant, but hoped there might be specials. I think there were, but our waiter was clueless. As when I asked him what the soup du jour was and his response was the soup du jour. We went around in circles about that for a minute or two, until finally I gave him a mini french lesson and he said he had to go downstairs and ask someone in the kitchen what the soup is. My husband ordered a black and blue burger, was never asked how he liked it prepared. I ordered the only non red meat item the chicken sandwich. It was heavily breaded and greasy. The chicken underneath was moist. The fries are good. When we were leaving I spied a list of specials on a wall on the first floor. I guess it was too much for our waiter to remember. There are so many other places for us to go where my husband can get a burger and beer and I can find something better to eat. There is no reason to return.
At the last minute we needed to increase our reservations from three people to eleven, they were able to accommodate our request and provided us with a perfect spot near the front of the restaurant. I really appreciated the effort. I would recommend this restaurant.
My brisket platter was mostly fat. There was more fat than actual meat. Not worth the $18. It was too bad, because otherwise I would have loved to go back.
I had the 1/2 brisket platter - my wife the 1/2 smoked chicken platter. The brisket was the best I have had anywhere. My wife said the smoked chicken was great. I also had a draft - it was very nice. Service was generally god, but forgot the appetizer until the end of meal. We'll definitely visit again. We got a brisket cheesesteak as take out for our son. He said it was very good.
We were in the mood for some ribs, and these did not disappoint, with several different and delicious sauces. We ordered a bunch of sides, which were just ok. The burgers looked delicious, and by the way folks were scarfing them down, they must have been awesome. The beer was excellent and varied. Our server was super!
The service was attentive. The BBQ sauce options on the table were good. mThere's parking in a small municipal lot next to the restaurant. There's Indoor and outdoor seating. The fried pickles were very hot (temperature) and tasty. Three of us had the brisket cheesesteak which was delicious and served with house made chips. The Mac and cheese was very good, too. The wings and fried chicken sandwich were also ordered and enjoyed. The cinnamon sugar pretzels with icing for dessert were delicious. They have Pepsi products. They take reservations. The downstairs bar area has tables and TVs. Upstairs is a little darker with just tables. There is an outdoor deck on the second floor. There’s a small parking lot nearby but most parking is on the street.
Seated quickly, timely approach by our server, ordered drinks and apps, we liked the beer, buffalo cauliflower bites were excellent, votes were split on the deep fried pickles, guests enjoyed the wings, brisket was a bit fatty, liked the sauce varieties, coleslaw was good, muffins were a bit hard, too full for dessert.
I’ve been meaning to try Tin Lizard for months now and finally got around to it. What a surprise. This place is the real deal. Great food and service. The beef brisket is amazing. The beer list is extensive and varied. Something for everyone. We’re hooked!
While the brisket was outstanding, the service was dismal at best. We waited 30 minutes for our drinks (it wasn't even overly crowded), but only 3 out of 4 drinks were delivered. My husband was told that they were changing the keg on the beer he wanted; the waitress came back 10 minutes later and told him it wasn't available. He ordered another beer, and after waiting another 20 minutes, he went downstairs to the bar to get it himself. His original beer did come (someone else brought it to the table), and when I mentioned to the server that delivered it that my husband went down to get his own because it took so long to get service, I was told, "I don't really know what to tell you." Our food came, my friend's order wasn't correct (wrong salad dressing), but no one ever came back to check on how our food was or if we needed more drinks (which we did by that point). We finally flagged down a server, got the right salad dressing, and when our original waitress came back to bring us the check, her demeanor had completely changed. She was short and curt, and never did ask how we liked the food. The brisket was phenomenal, but it was so overshadowed by the poor service. It was very disappointing overall.
Nice brewery with a great selection of beer. The food was great. The fried pickles were a big order, and we couldn't eat them all, the buffalo cauliflower was really good, and the sandwiches were tasty and filling. We had too much food! Next time we will only order one appetizer since they are more than enough for two people. I would go back again soon.
Food and service mediocre
Staff seemed to be panicking. It turned out there was only one waitress for both floors. Food was okay and so was the beer. I would have liked another round but that wasn’t possible with limited attention. Also not ideal to be out of ribs and chicken wings during prime time dinner service. Smoke alarm every 10 minutes was a nice touch. We’ll give it another shot and hopefully things will be smoother.
The price for food didn’t match the quality or quantity of food. My husband and I were disappointed.
outstanding beef brisket.....not readily available anywhere else in this area!
Great casual place for something different at a fair prce point
We had been here once before and the food quality seems to be much worse now. In our party of 5, we had two meals go essentially uneaten and nothing was great. The portabella cheesesteak was extremely disappointing. The cauliflower appetizer was also unpleasant. Clearly not a good place for vegetarians. We are big dessert eaters but the carrot cake tasted stale and the cheesecake was out of stock before 7PM on Friday. We had a few good beers. Maybe a better place to go to drink than to eat...
Best BBQ in the area.
Beer is on point! Food is excellent! I will be a frequent flyer at this place
First and most likely last visit to Tin Lizard. If you decide to check it out, request a seat on the first floor. Better atmosphere, TVs, bar, and I imagine more attentive service. We were seated upstairs, where it was quiet, a little cold (management turned the heat up but commented that it would be a sauna shortly - thanks?), and inattentive service. Feel isolated and somewhat forgotten.
Food hit or miss: buffalo cauliflower and fried pickles apps were great. French fries and cole slaw sides excellent, and pulled pork sandwich pretty good. Don't recommend brisket cheesesteak or the burger, and skip the cornbread muffins. Only other occupied table upstairs ordered the BBQ platter, looked pretty good. BBQ sauces offered on the table were all pretty good, so only reason I would go back would be a platter or the ribs.
Great time sitting at bar. Trying all the beers.
Food was awesome and we met some nice people.
Great food and great beer!
Loved it!!! They were out of thr beer I wanted to try but that gives reason to go back. The food portions are big.
Waited more than an hour for BBQ. Forgot appetizer and still took 45 minutes after reminding them. Didn't fill water. Didn't offer to do anything despite knowing it was a poor dining experience. Won't go back.
The microbreweries were excellent. Great sandwiches had hand carved turkey & beef. Our waitress was awesome. Fun lunch with family!
I like Tin Lizard for an informal casual meal of pub food.
We really enjoyed Tin Lizard! The beer is excellent. The black IPA was delicious as was the North East IPA. We both had baby back ribs and they were so moist and flavorful that we didn't need any of the 5 barbecue sauces available on the table. They were the meatiest ribs we've ever had. My husband could't finish the full rack he ordered but was very happy to have them for lunch the next day. If you like barbecue and if you like craft beer, Tin Lizard is a match made in heaven.
Wasn't at all what I expected.. the food was cold, and not gd.. It just wasnt authentic barbecue..
I thought this place had very, very good beer and barbeque. Friendly and accommodating staff added a very good touch. Will go back, again and again
We went to Tin Lizard for Father's Day with our 2 and 6 year old boys. The food was amazing, the beer was fantastic, and the atmosphere laid back and comfortable and totally fine for crazy kids. We'll definitely be going back.
Everything was good, enjoyed the food and beer. Only complaint is that we sat upstairs and that room can get really noisy really fast. Hard to have a conversation at the table.
A fun place to catch up with friends. Good BBQ and beer.
Great barbecue along with a fantastic beer list.
Great BBQ and beer. Yum!
Wonderful food!! It is loud upstairs, but we were still able to enjoy our meal.
Good beer, staff is friendly and attentive, and food is good if you don’t mind eating a lot a meat.
We enjoyed the food and the beer brewed on site is interesting. It was a little cold the day we were there; we told the server and she said they would address it. I would return.
Enjoyed tin lizard for the beer and BBQ. Thought the beer was better than the food though. My sandwich was served on the lukewarm side but the meat was tasty. Unfortunately could not eat it as a sandwich because the bottom of the roll was too soggy. Better bread would help. Still, glad the TL is in Bryn Mawr. Should be a good spot in warmer weather
