TJ's Highland Steakhouse

The food and service were amazing! Only a 4 star for ambiance as I wish there was background music or something playing in bar area while we waited for our table.

It was greatly appreciated when our birthday girl was running late that they let us push our reservation back 15 minutes. The service and food was too notch! Our first time visiting, definitely not our last!

Simply one of the best Chilean sea bass I have ever had. Mushrooms and asparagus in miso was the perfect compliment. We ordered Brussels sprouts with bacon and they were fantastic. I do not like Brussels sprouts but now ilm sold.
Wife ordered the tuna and was great except it was missing the wasabi.
Can’t wait to try a steak next time.
Great restaurant. The ambience is awesome like being in Scotland.

It is a little pricey but absolutely worth it! All the food came out cooked to perfection. I’ve never had a better cut of meat. We had a perfect holiday gathering. Will be going back.

All was great EXCEPT we had a cocktail at the bar. There was one woman and three VERY LOUD men. It was difficult for us to carry on a conversation. I feel the staff should have said something to them. This is not what I expected at such a beautiful place.

excellent steak melt in your mouth. Crab cakes were very good also. Lobster cobb salad was excellent

My husband and I visited for the first time for our 5th wedding anniv. Pros: atmosphere was beautiful. I am accustomed to capital grill/Gibson’s etc and this was up to par with classic steakhouse decor. Our server was very polite and helpful. My filet was cooked perfectly and I could not have been happier to find a steak in WI that lives up to my standards (moved here from Boston 7 years ago and have tried two popular steakhouses here and they were not as good IMHO) My husbands delmonico was cooked perfectly as well and we both enjoyed our side sauces that we added on (TJ’s steak sauce/cognac peppercorn) Wine list was awesome and our martinis were great as were our appetizers (Kung Pao calamari/raw oysters) and side dishes (wild mushrooms/green beans) We headed over to the bar after dinner and also had a great experience there as well. Loved their speed chiller for their glasses. Nice touch.
Cons: I’ll preface by saying I’m super picky and have certain expectations when going to a high end steakhouse. These weren’t deal breakers and we will definitely be back. 1. We made reservations via opentable. There’s a drop down option for occasion. We wrote that it was our 5th wedding anniv. I didn’t expect much, but I did expect perhaps something on our table when we arrived or a special dessert with a “happy anniversary” on it or even a comment from the host staff or server. That what I’m used to at CG for special occasions. So maybe lesson learned that opentable didn’t pass along that info to TJ’s? Not sure but was disappointed. 2. The presentation of my seafood newburg with my filet on same plate was very off putting. But it tasted fantastic. Had 2 nice sized U-10 scallops and 1 large shrimp. Would have liked more seafood. Would have expected it in a small dish on the plate or just separate from my filet. 3. This isn’t a complaint just a comment. I’m a huge lover of creamed spinach, sadly TJ’s doesn’t offer it.
All in all, we can’t wait to go back!

We brought our son and his wife with kids for anniversary dinner and it was perfect! Did not disappoint!!!! Can’t wait to come back!

Wonderful place with fantastic food and service.

The food was excellent. I finally feel like the fox valley has an equivalent steakhouse (food wise) to my favorite steakhouses in Milwaukee and Twin Cities.

I’m not a huge fan of the decor. I’d prefer a classier look to the plaid golf design throughout.

Don’t let my 4 star rating keep you from goi g here. The one thing that kept it from five stars was the service was a bit “off”. But I’m a picky person and the service was still very good but not excellent. The food was fantastic except for the quality if the tomatoes in the tomato mozzarella salad, they could have been better. But our steak entree’s were fabulous, and that’s why you go to a steakhouse. I will be back, hopefully soon!

Began with cocktails at bar which were perfect and well served by Luke. Dinner was excellent and Sam our server was wonderful. Other than a bit slow between salad/appetizers and main course, was a truly enjoyable evening.

The cedar plank salmon was phenomenal!! My girlfriend had the tagliatelle de mare. It didn't have any lobster or crab meat and the 3 shrimp still had the tail on them. The bacon wrapped scallops are one of their best appetizers!

Great food, great service, exceptional wine and spirits selection. Excellent culinary experience.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at TJ’s Highland Steakhouse. My husband had the Delmonico steak which he loved and I had the crab cakes. Delicious! Our server was informative and very attentive to our needs!

Very good steak house and restaurant. We had a quality cocktail at the bar followed by a great meal with a bottle of wine from a solid list of choices. We will go back.

Awesome crab cakes and Chilean sea bass; big city dining in sleepy little Oshkosh...we will definitely be back, saves a drive to Chicago for high-end dining, which we love splurging on awesome food. Thank you!

Excellent culinary experience. Very diverse menu for Oshkosh area. We had family in town from out of state and wanted to treat them to a great meal after a round of golf. Bone Marrow, crab cake, and Nueskes bacon appetizers were amazing. The crab mac and cheese was to die for. Steaks cooked to perfection. Wide variety of high end liqueurs including bourbons, whiskeys and after dinner drinks. Notable wine list as well.

With the high cost of this restaurant in the Oshkosh area, we were very disappointed in the quality of food that we received. For a medium well steak to come out charred and burnt, it is not a place we would recommend or plan to go back to. The lamb my husband ordered was very fatty, we felt like we get better pieces of lamb and steak at Costco. Both meals were bland. We don’t typically leave reviews at restaurants, but we had high expectations.
