Topsail Restaurant & Bar
The hostess was rude and unwelcoming. They tried to seat our group of 6 at a fire pit for dinner and when we asked for a real table they tried to squeeze us at a table for four when other larger tables were available and acted like we were unreasonable. The food and our service was great but the first-impression from the hostess put a damper on our evening.
Great service, very tasty seafood.
Attentive servers and delicious meal
Best scallops I have ever had
Wonderful staff, excellent food, beautiful patio setting.
Great food and very friendly service. I will definitely be back.
We were seated in a small room that had no ambiance because the lighting was so bright. When I asked the waitress why the room was so bright she stayed oh someone must have requested it. Hint it was operating room bright other room by bar much more charming.
Sitting outside was loud from traffic. We chose outside when making reservation but thought we would be in tent. Service was good. Our meal was just 'okay'. She Crab soup was oily with very little crab and a strong taste of an herb (maybe Thyme?) The device was delicious! My Salmon Stuffed with Crab had a really strong flavored sauce on top which overpowered the taste of the salmon,
Plus there was hardly any crab inside. My BF had the filet and said it was 'average'. I had been looking forward to trying Topsail but doubt I will go back. There is a really cute little outside space with a fire pit. Would be great for a small group doing drinks and appetizers
The food and the service were great. We really enjoyed it.
Outdoor dining was important to us . . . and even if we were up against a busy street, I’d rather put up with traffic noise for a safer environment. The restaurant staff is trying hard to accommodate everyone’s needs. We felt safe although large groups were nearby daring Covid. Food was good, service was attentive and cheerful, and we enjoyed a nice bottle of Sancerre. All in all, a good choice.
I had amazing experience last night. The food was awesome. And my sever was awesome Sidney.
Very good service. The food was mediocre & not as on the menu.
Found this place online, Read Reviews and Wow were they right! Excellent Food , service and Drinks. Surprised us since it Does not look Fancy at all, Only drawback was it was right on the road, we ate outside. But it was Covid safe !!!! but so so Good.
Probably the best meal in 4 days of going out to eat in Charleston S.C.
I had the Red Snapper, whole and my girlfriend had the Arugula Salad , and the Sous Vide Chicken Breast Mediterranean vegetable medley, gnocchi, lemon caper sauce
Great restaurant! Tables a little too close together during social distancing requirements!
Fantastic food, service, cocktails and staff!!! You will not be disappointed!
Extremely tasty dinner. Ambience was very special and conducive for a romantic evening.
Great seafood! We enjoyed our dinner and will return.
I specifically requested the outside table on the far right in the back (the fire pit) for a special evening. I even called two days before to confirm we would have this table and the manager assured me it was a done deal. However, when we arrived the hostess didn’t have a clue about it, tried to seat us elsewhere and unfortunately I had to pitch a fit and demand we get the table I was promised. This really put a damper on what was a triple birthday celebration with my wife and friends. Once seated, All of the food was wonderful except the octopus, which was very disappointing - very little octopus given and couldn’t distinguish it from the potatoes.
My friend and I were greeted by friendly staff and as alwsys service was top notch.
Her entree was a featured special--a seafood trio with crab, shrimp and scallops in a delectable sauce.
I ordered one of Topsail's popular dinner salads: arugula, strawberries, alm ok nds and tiny crumbles of feta. I asked for a side order of their perfect fried shrimp, thinking they would be on a solo plate, the salad in another.
When orders arrived, nearby patrons admired the chef's presentation, especially mine. Kudos to Topsail's chef for "creating" a one-plate presentation of mounded salad encircled by local, perfectly seasoned shrimp-- with a tasty homemade cocktail sauce.
An enjoyable dinner was even more special, on T's "half off wine night," with a nice bottle of cabernet to share.
My son and I went in without knowing what to expect (shot in the dark on Open Table), and were pleasantly surprised. Our waiter was quite chatty, but not in an obnoxious way, and was actually very informative and entertaining. Our food (I had salmon, and he had the whole fish) was very good, but the accompanying sides were disappointing. We each ordered a key lime pie dessert, which was also very good (quite tart), but could have easily been shared by the two of us. The wine list was good, and we had a nice Pinot Noir at a reasonable price. I don't know that I'll have reason to be back in the Charleston/Mt. Pleasant area again, but I would probably dine with y'all again if I am.
Nice place to dine. Special blackened halibut fish was delicious. Lobster & grits was also good but everything was contained in two much liquid.
Nice wine selection. Great service.
We went to Topsail for a family birthday dinner. The lobster deviled eggs and shrimp appetizers were outstanding. I had the halibut which was delicious. The scallops also were a favorite at our table. Everyone was very happy with their meals and the service was prompt and personable.
Fish special was rubbery and un eatable. Everything else was great! Cheers!,
We ordered way too much food but it was all very good. We started off the lobster deviled eggs and the arugula salad and the Yuza margarita. All very good. I loved the salad, and the deviled eggs were different but still very yummy. I consider myself a deviled eggs snob and this was my first time having them with lobster on them so it was a must try for me. The She crab soup to me was my favorite thing of the night. I like my She crab soup to have a stronger crab taste so that could all be preference. The seafood platter, the filet, and the mussels were all very good and I would definitely recommend. For dessert we had chocolate ganache cake and it was rich and yummy.
This restaurant was a great find! No one that we asked had ever heard of it so we were skeptical about having dinner there especially when we were able to get a 7pm reservation for 5 on a Saturday night! That’s unheard of in Mt Pleasant! So happy we decided to try it! The food was fabulous! The presentation made the food almost to pretty to eat!! The seafood platter included a lobster tail that was a bit pricey but it was worth the money especially for the amount served on the platter. My sister had the whole fish which was red snapper and it was perfect. I had the crab cakes and they were scrumptious! The hush puppies that were served before the meals were delicious as well as the coconut shrimp appetizer. Our server, Sydney, was the best! She was very accommodating and kind! We will definitely go back the next time we are in the area!
A great date night spot! Dean, our server, was amazing. He was very helpful with drinks and dinner choices although I don’t think you can go wrong. Everything was delicious and beautifully prepared.
Great service, creative menu and craft cocktails.
We were so worried if TS could survive Covid $ then be up to it’s original great standards.
It did on all counts & we were so happy.
Felt Covid safe as well. Great job, gang!
As they say, “Cream always rises to the top” and this is true of Top Sail.
Bravo & welcome back!
Overall this was a very meal, great service and experience. We will return soon.
Because It look like a renovated gas station on the outside on a busy street, I was reluctant to go in. They have white linen tablecloths which made me sit down. The food and service were outstanding. Rival anything in downtown Charleston! I’d go back but dress more casual.
Excellent meal and service. Ran out of the mussels by the time we arrived but the coconut shrimp were delicious.
Mixed drinking went great, food and
The food was very good and our waiter was prompt and friendly. The biggest drawback is that we were sat nearest the sidewalk and road which was loud, and ruined any sense of ambience. Topsail may want to rethink some of their outdoor seating to reset on ambient
The food and experience was great! We had an phenomenal server. We had a variety of appetizers, meals and drinks and all were outstanding.
Nicest waitress of all time and food was INCREDIBLE. Lobster was the best Ive ever tasted
We were not happy with our table but the food was excellent.
We sat outside and the street side was pretty loud. The food and the service were wonderful and we had a really nice time! Our guests were impressed as well.
Our third visit to Topsail. This restaurant definitely goes under the radar. Food is superb! Service is attentive and courteous. You will not be disappointed. Can’t wait to go back!
Topsail never fails to amaze us. They use fresh herbs from their garden, their staff is very knowledgeable about the food and specials, great environment and even better food! Delicious spot.
