Baked Jumbo Lump Crab Cake
With Lobster Sauce
16 oz Bone-In Beef Tenderloin
Cream of Asparagus Soup
with Jumbo Lump Crab Meat
Had a wonderful time celebrating my husbands birthday at Tournedos. Sarah was our server and she was great!!!! The food was incredible and we were in the Library room. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Going back again soon!!
Amazing food. Waygu rib eye was outstanding. Porterhouse not as flavorful but very tender and cooked to order. Bearnaise sauce was a little heavy on the butter and light on the tarragon but still tasty. Quiet ambiance with background jazz that did not interfere with conversation. Service was attentive but a little confused as to which server had our table. Crab cake app. was delicious. Onion ring side dish was also great; light and crispy, dusted with Parmesan. Grilled asparagus was a little plain but done just right. Maybe try a coating of balsamic vinaigrette?
Chocolate molten lava cake was awesome. Excellent wine list, enjoyed the 2012 Brunello di Montalcino.
Had an amazing dinner, food was excellent and service was great!
Great time. Food was great. The steak was perfect.
Always a must when I’m in Rochester- their dry aged beef is phenomenal, wine list is excellent, and service is always outstanding. I am never disappointed, and always looking forward to my next visit.
Wonderful night! As always fabulous food and great service !
$65 for a glass of cognac, recommended by server? C'mon.
We had a wonderful birthday celebration evening! The food and service was amazing; highly recommend this restaurant and establishment!
Another excellent meal and wonderful evening at Tournedos! Special thanks as always to our terrific server, Leo.
We typically only visit for special occasions and it never disappoints. Great Food really nice atmosphere.
Our only option was to reserve a table jn the bar area. I was a little nervous about ambiance and noise. However, I found I loved the intimate little nook our two person table was situated in. Even more so than the general dining room.
We had the oysters and crab cake for appetizer, which was phenomenal. The best crab cake we've ever had. For entree we enjoyed an Oscar style filet and the Sea Bass special with a lobster cream sauce. Both were cooked perfectly and severed timely and warm. Our waiter was perfect with his timing and "reading" us and our pacing/needs.
I love Tournedos. I have been here several times and it is consistently a wonderful meal and relaxed dining experience without any pretentiousness.
We have wanted to try Tournedos for years and finally made it after receiving a gift certificate for the restaurant. All I can tell you is that, you have not had meat cooked perfectly until you come here. We ordered the Wagyu beef and the Applewood smoked pork chops, both were cooked perfectly to our order. In fact, everything from the salad (mixed greens with balsamic vinaigrette) to the soup (cream of asparagus soup with jumbo lump crab) and side dish (seasonal risotto) were delicious. We will return and we hope the restaurant continues the wonderfully cooked beef, pork, and seafood. We knew the owner and we are sad that he is no longer with us, (RIP Bob), but we hope his family will continue to run this restaurant as it is. The only thing I could say was a distraction was that they have a party room above their restaurant and they were having a very good time up there as we could hear two different types of music during our meal. It certainly was two different genres that did not mix well, but overall we loved the dining experience we had at Tournedos.
The food was excellent. The waiter was very knowledgeable about their menu and was vigilant. Their 4-5 tiered dessert tray is impressive!!
The food there has always been phenomenal. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. Great service.
Not a great value for the money I spent I love food and I don't mind spending money on great food but the portions were relatively small for the price
The steak and salmon were very good as expected for a fine dining experience. Very nice wine list. My dinner date and I enjoyed the experience.
We were seated promptly after arrival through a heavy essence of marijuana smoke and smell on the front portico outside the front door and steps. Dinner was one price as expected. Waiter introduced self and asked if we wanted anything other than water. No wine list; stayed I wanted dry white wine after he’s stated “oh Chardonnay;? I told him I preferred a dry white. He then produced a wine list I was allowed to look at. Selected a Riesling although it was not dry. Choices by the glass are very limited. He later asked how it was; I stated mush sweeter than I liked . Kudos as he then brought samples of a white burgundy and Sancerre not on the menu. He took our choices and they began to arrive $1.00 extra for bacon on the wedge type salad (which we found amusing). Then the steaks arrived..supposed to be medium rare. The wait staff then disappeared. Mine was mostly medium; my spouses was medium well to well done. Not one person came back to check.not one. He finally had to take his plate and find someone. Eventually the waiter reappeared stating “ there was a problem here?” He than came from the kitchen with a steak the chef had on the grill to be cut into; again medium welll. At that pint my partner was upset and told by the waiter to”calm down”. By the time the steak arrived I had finished eating and watched him finish his meal. Desserts are mostly chocolate; a Pana cotta and crème brûlée ( not good for the lactose intolerant; of of chocolate is not your preference. They did remove the entire $ amount for my husbands meal… not preferable; the meal was disappointment and something we had been looking forward to. We had a great experience in September for our anniversary here. This time not so much
New Years Eve!!!! Tournedos has become our annual tradition to end the year and look forward to the new one. The food, the staff, the ambiance…ALL top notch!!! If you haven’t been here yet it is a must do for a wonderful experience all the way around. A true Gem!!!
First time we experienced Tournedos and we will be back for sure.
Beautiful dining room, friendly service, first class steaks.
A special place, make memories and eat very well! Love the staff
Definitely by far our favorite Rochester restaurant.
Service and food are always exemplary. Prices are higher
But you can’t beat the quality!
Consistently great always wonderful food in great service. Favorite restaurant in Rochester
Dinner was amazing...great atmosphere! Excellent service!!
Delicious perfectly cooked filet!
Brandon and all staff were great. The atmosphere and dinner were amazing.
This was our second time dining here.
From Valet on we had a great experience.
Everything was delicious and everyone was very friendly.
Almost perfect!!! Everyone was awesome from the Valet to the person checking coats. Zero rushing to turn the table. Food was beyond excellent. The only super minor detail was the seating. Four of us were at a rectangle booth style table and the spacing was kind of far for talking across the table as compared to a regular square table. Like i said, super minor. Highly recommend
Absolutely fantastic - pricey of course but you can't expect it not to be for the quality.
Bar was not open prior to our dinner reservation. I overheard three other parties being told that the bar didn't open until 5. No way to have a cocktail before dinner. No coat check person. Hung and retrieved our own coats. Steaks were good. Served bare on a plate. A simple grilled veg would have dressed it nicely. Brandon was very attentive and pleasant.
Outstanding food and service!
Tournados is sophisticated and there are no riff raff running around, but it is far too expensive. The meat was not cooked to our specification and it was dry. We were offered no sauces. The accompanying lobster tail was way over priced at $70. No cocktails, shared dinner, one side, no salad and dessert at $240 including tip is not my idea of a fair value.
Never disappoints. It is quiet and refined. ......
Excellent as always!
Food was AMAZING. We came to celebrate our office Christmas party & this was hands down the best dinner that I have eaten in Rochester.
Fantastic food. Great oysters and excellent steaks. Service was impeccable. This restaurant compares favorably to any steak place out there anywhere. I will be back.
We absolutely enjoyed our first adventure dinning here. Will certainly return. Our waitress was phenomenal. Thank you.
Consistency is the mark of a well managed restaurant. We don't visit frequently but we DO return, because of the top notch consistency and attention to detail.
My wife and went to try the Wagyu steak. Nice atmosphere but extremely over priced. My mid rare steak was charred on the outside to the point thats mostly what I tasted. My wife’s fillet was fine, but nothing spectacular for this price point.
The food and service was excellent. Tournedos is a great asset to Rochester. One curiosity was the lack of linen tablecloths for this price point and category.
