Towne House + Douro Steakhouse
THE SERVICE WAS VERY GOOD, THE ATMOSPHERE WAS NICE . THEIR APPETIZERS ARE TAPPAS JUST FOR ONE PERSON WE ORDERED THE RIB EYE IT WAS OK BY NO MEANS IT IS PRIME. THE DESERT WAS GOOD AND THEIR WINE LIST IS RESPECTABLE. I WISH THEM THE BEST OF LUCK, I WILL GO AGAIN.
Jess at bar is bubbly and attentive . Anderson and Shelby are great wait folks . Wine list is very good, although its a bit spotty during Covid. Great place , great staff great food . No complaints , only praise!
Our server was excellent. The food was decent, shrimp were small for $3.50 a pop. The Manager working last night was barely involved and could’ve been helping his staff to make the place run smoother. The hostess was busing tables to help the servers. The Manager needs to personally get more involved with the operation of the establishment. Not sure we will go back based on some of the reviews.
Food was bland and needed spices. The main protein item was super hot while starch and veggies were Luke warm for us all, which means they were preplated and placed to rest under a lamp. This should be timed much better. Service was good.
Absolutely love the atmosphere here. It’s definitely a great place for date night or a friends get together. Food is so good and the staff are friendly.
This was our first time at Towne House and the last time unfortunately. The server was beyond excellent! Bolognese was nothing short of lazy mans spaghetti, the stuffed Salmon I think the started cooking it the night before. It was so over cooked and the stuffing had absolutely no flavor at all..
$110 steak that was more like pot roast. Seafood tower with small oysters that tasted spoiled and warm shrimp. Frozen bread. I hate to give a bad review for any local business, but this was just bad.
Nice place to go to for wine me dinner. Fast service
Food was just so so. My date’s Portuguese steak came out cold. The pork in my Portuguese Pork and Little Necks was dry and overcooked. Atmosphere was very modern and upscale but a bit noisy, and that was during reduced Covid capacity! Our waitress was very nice and just attentive enough without being over bearing. I wouldn’t rush back.
very nice remodeling job,, clean, Fall River needs a nice upscale room like this,, Will be back again and recommend to others.
Awful dining experience. Food was not good. At all. Ran out of multiple food and beer selections. Restaurant is poorly managed. Was warned not to go by multiple prior customers. Should have listened. Will never go back!
The 1st 2 things my husband asked for were not in stock but on the menu, along with the chowder I asked for
Ordered French onion soup was super salty could not finish
My dinner salad was over dressed and i couldn't eat
Sangria was AMAZING but food wasn't good place was beautiful but we got a babysitter and wanted some quality alone time with good food and ended up disappointed
Great service. Everyone was very hospitable, professional, and kind. Delicious was food.
Food was not good at all. Couldn't even finish my meal. Four of ate different items from the menu and all but 1 was unsatisfied.
The staff were friendly. The ambiance was amazing and the food was so delicious. This was our first time but not our last
This restaurant is amazing! We have been there a few times and have never been disappointed. Food and people and atmosphere is fantastic. Recommend highly!
We enjoyed our dinner! Beautiful atmosphere and great service!
Love it here one of my favorite restaurants the lobster raviolis are amazing!!!
It's a nice date night restaurant. It can get loud though.
So good to see a place this beautiful in Fall River. The city is turning around and getting that trendy vibe going. I’ll be back for dinner. Brunch was amazing!
The best steak I’ve ever had!!
Will definitely be back great experience over all food was great
Everything was excellent. Anderson was very attentive to us.
Great ambiance and the food was spectacular. I would love to return in Spring to enjoy the outside dining.
Facility was very nice. Bartender, Morgan, extremely nice, great drinks and very attentive. Also very engaged with not only our needs but the patrons around us, all while training a new employee. Food, I had Portuguese steak, slightly undercooked. Wife had Filet felt it was good, not blown away but cooked perfect. Will definitely return but in a city with increasing restaurants opening even during pandemic you’re battling every restaurants Portuguese Steak. I’m interested in some of the other entree offerings.
Fancy , great service and atmosphere. Good fit for downtown
Waited 20 minutes before a waiter came to the table. Place was barely social distancing people switching tables and moving freely with no masks. The food was very plain which was surprising for Portuguese food. Food and service poor. Pork was tough. Not recommended. Will not be returning.
Great food and great atmosphere.I will be back again
We look forward to returning and give the tapas side a try. Beautiful place!
Food wasn't great at all, scallops were salty no mushrooms on mushroom risotto and some plates came out cold. Salmon was not tasty and barely had any sauce to help it.
Service was very slow, we waited a VERY long time for just about EVERYTHING even a simple can i please have a fork.
Espresso was cold and didn't taste good, not sure how they can mess that up with a "coffee shop" attached.
Dining room was FULL with seating not 6ft apart...FYI.
Really nice place , drinks were good, service was really good , food was ok . Calamari seemed to be frozen and just fried and food was underseasoned but I am married to a chef lol too bad food wasn’t as good as everything else , the potential is there
Seafood was not fresh.
- Beautiful place with a wonderful evening ambiance.
- Service is spot on.
- Drinks were good and fairly priced.
- my wife’s grilled octopus was beautifully prepared and she enjoyed it. Smallish portion of actual octopus but overall, reasonably priced.
- Finally, a restaurant with good espresso!
- Plenty of area parking
- They do not observe the 6’ social distance rule with the seating, not even close. I’m not an overly sensitive COVID baby but, they weren’t even trying.
- My Alentejana was truly terrible. The broth was gray, thin/watery and completely void of flavor. I actually had to ask for a salt shaker. The potatoes were soggy/pale like they hadn’t been recently fried or for long enough. The meat was tender yet oddly dry in the mouth. I knew it was going to suck the moment he placed it down, it just didn’t look right and was lazily prepared. At $18, I could have thrown a rock in ANY direction and gotten a better prepared Alentejana for $10 and I would have been stupid happy with it. This was embarrassing to Portuguese people.
- Prices are on the high side for what they are offering. They aren’t doing anything innovative or special to command some of their prices. This isn’t Providence.
- Tiramisu desert was just ok. Very soggy and not overly flavorful. Not enough mascarpone cheese I suspect. Rookie mistake, if you prepare them early and pop them in the fridge, be sure to add the cocoa garnish when ready to serve, not BEFORE. It just turns into brown mud, loses all elegance, and leaves the customer questioning freshness. Lose the bowl too and do a proper slice with side garnish. This is why it turned out soggy. Lazy setup at a premium price.
Overall, It was a decent experience and they have great potential. They need to work out some rookie mistakes and improve both the value and consistency of their food if they are going to impose Providence restaurant pricing in Fall River and have a chance at surviving.
I’ll try them again in 6mo.
My wife and I both had steak plates.
I got the ribeye ($55) with mashed potatoes. Steak was bland and had no flavor. It tasted like it was boiled, then shortly grilled.
My wife had the Portuguese steak plate. Sauce was flavorless and the steak was bland.
Drinks, cheese appetizer and dessert (ride pudding and tiramisu) was great.
Waiter was great and very attentive.
Overall, it wasn’t a good value for the food we had. I really wanted to like this place.
The food, drinks, and service are excellent here!!! Did not have to wait long for our food and the atmosphere was perfect. Soft music in the background. Definately will return!!
Prices of a high end steakhouse but not the quality of one. Love the environment and the decor. Definitely will go back for drinks and maybe apps.
Service is awful drinks and food took forever typical new restaurant flaws. Will only go back if it's an accident..
We had a good experience here. We sat outside and it was actually quite warm with the heaters. However, service was really slow and our food was okay. We probably won’t go out of our way to come here again.
Decor is very nice. Server was good, but lacked time and would be missing for a while due to being busy. Food was delicious. Mozambique fries are not on the menu, but was suggested and were good. Would definitely go back.
The restaurant is beautiful. The decor is tasteful and upscale. Our waiter lacked knowledge about the most basic menu items. We had to guide the server as to what needed to be done. The Portuguese steak was perfectly cooked and the stuffed salmon was also good. The martinis are a good value at $10 each.
