Trabuco Oaks Steakhouse
Always a great experience !!
I had reservations at 6:30, but didn't get seated until 7. Unfortunately I didn't arrive at the restaurant until 6:35, but assumed I would get seated before 7.
Good food and interesting ambiance. Slow service and very old fashion. Be prepared for a min of 1 hour 30 min to 2 hour dinner. Could have been faster with more efficient service. Nonetheless, you go there for the food and it is awesome
We love this place and have been going there for over 20 years!!!
Trabuco Oaks Steakhouse is worth the drive. We love to take a country drive and end up with a great steak, crispy fries and great cocktails. The service is always friendly and quick, the steaks are always perfectly cooked, we love it!
My husband and I had our second date at Trabuco Oaks Steakhouse 22 years ago. Still consistantly great across the board!
always good food, try not to deviate too much from their standard cocktails, but they will attempt to make you whatever you want. Steaks are always great!!!
It was a birthday celebration. The restaurant does not offer anything free for a birthday celebration.
It was a wonderful evening. The food was excellent . Love the atmosphere.
Normally very good steaks, but not tonight. The expensive ribeye was half fat and most of the rest was bone. What little meat there was good, but surprised that the cook would have put that piece on the grill.
Not charged for it, but would have preferred a good meal.
Good food and full of character. We’ll be back and we’re bringing friends.
We’ve been eating there for close to 30 years and the quality of the food seems to have gone downhill this last meal
Amazing food. Cool ambience. Attentive wait staff. Highly enjoyable and unique. If you want a non chain steakhouse that is highly original and has great food, this is your spot. Loved it.
The food was awesome and the service was great !! Parking was easy got right in with no problem !!!
We went to celebrate Valentine’s Day a night early to avoid the crowds. Made a reservation early (5:30) also to avoid crowds. We were seated in the very back corner against the wall and then everyone after that was seated around us as close as possible, filling in each table moving toward the front of the room which was only about 2/3 full. Why did they have to pack us in like sardines immediately rather than spreading us out a tiny bit so that we could have a conversation? It was really awkward how close each table was. The heater was running and the room was unbearably hot. Our server agreed and advised that he had just turned it off. Our main course was delivered almost immediately after our salads, so unless we wanted our steaks to get cold, we had to abandon our salads. Plus there was not enough room on the table. We each ate about half of our dinner and unable to enjoy any of it we gave up and called it a night. The room was still only 1/3 full but everyone was crammed together. In order to get out of my seat I had to have two people at the table next to us make room for me to squeeze behind their chairs because they were up against us. What a shame, happy Valentine’s Day.
We have already recommended Trabuco Oaks to several friends. Fantasic food and ambiance! I loved the cozy feel of the restaurant side. The red lamp covers are beautiful and the trees inside make it feel like an elegant picnic! Food was terrific and we'll be eating some more of the leftovers today! We'll be back!
I was looking for a memorable place to celebrate my son's 10th birthday on Google. Trabuco Oaks Steakhouse looked promising and did not fail to produce. From the scenic drive to the quaint miners shack ambiance it was a blast, pun intended! The menu was great, a meat lovers paradise, and the service was great. Be warned, we were there on a weeknight so it could be more crowded on the weekend. Loved the food and be sure to order the gizmo for desert, mogwai not included!
This was our first time there. I had made a reservation for 7:45 and we arrived at 7:30. We were seated as soon as we walked in. The host was not overtly welcoming or friendly. I was cold so I requested a table in a warmer area. Unfortunately the host had no idea what that meant and sat us at a corner table with windows on both sides. It made the meal a little enjoyable.
It took 15-20 minutes for the server to even come to our table...she was nice. We order the filet and sirloin and the mixed veggie skillet.
The house salad dressing was superb and I was very pleased with the salad. Our steaks came out sizzling and perfect! I recommend the filet over the sirloin. As someone who really enjoys a good sirloin this cut was a little tough and lacked flavor but it was still good. The filet was outstanding! Baked potatoes were perfect. I could have done with out the beans...they were okay. The veggie skillet was the only thing sub par...it had barely any seasoning and was rather boring. Would not order again.
Because it was cold we didn’t stay for dessert and moved on. My water was never refilled. But other than that I would go again. And I would recommend it!
My wife and I celebrated her birthday at Trabuco Oaks Steakhouse. It was our first time there. We enjoyed ourselves immensely. Everything was just perfect.
The food was great, the people were great. The table was a bit tight, but honestly, everything else made up for it.
As usual just great food and service that is very affordable.
Our table was ready when we arrived. The staff were all professional, courteous and helpful. Food was delicious. We enjoyed our evening very much! We highly recommend everyone try this restaurant.
We had a great Sunday dinner with friends to celebrate two birthdays. Everything was wonderful! We all enjoyed the service and our meals. Such a fun restaurant that makes you feel transported to someplace far from south Orange County.
I have never had a bad meal there and the drinks are always great!
This is a eclectic neighborhood gem. We love the ambiance in the bar/eating area and frequent it regularly. Split the ‘Cowpoke’ if you don’t have a huge appetite and definitely have a ‘Gizmo’ for dessert.
This place is sooo good! My only comment is that you definitely want to sit in the tree room with the ties on the wall. We were originally seated in the porch room and asked to be moved. They were awesome about it.
Our table was waiting for us when we arrived and the hostess took our drink order promptly. The prime rib, ribeye steaks and baked potatoes were great. We finished off the night with a delicious shared mudpie.
This is not your average Orange County restaurant because of the rustic location. The food and service is certainly not average either. It is a local favorite that folks far and wide should visit.
Tina is the best!
Always a good time with good food. Bartender was a little slow but she made great drinks.
The atmosphere and food continues to be outstanding. The staff who have been working there for years love what they do and it shows. Looking forward to eating the ribs next time around.
Took out of town family, it’s a casual atmosphere with a bit if novelty. Used to be pretty good value for the money but their prices are much too high for the quality of food you get. It used to be reasonable. If I want a $50 steak I’ll go to Ruth’s Chris. The entrees average $36 and the food is definitely not worth it. The service was very good...but until they lower those prices (a lot) we won’t be back. Sorry.
Haven’t been here in years nothing has changed great food & service. Rib eye was awesome a bit pricey but so worth it!
Such a cool little spot up in the mountains - the winding roads to get there, i thought we were going to get lost. But well worth the trek. The staff were exceptionally friendly. This is a fabulous spot for adults and kids too i suppose. I brought my wife for a date, and as a romantic spot i would still give it 4/5 stars. Overall i think this is a superb spot for locals and others, and look forward to bringing family members here at some point in the future.
This rustic Steakhouse is right in the middle of Trabuco Canyon. It's a restaurant we've enjoyed for over 20 years. The food (especially the steaks) are great. The servers are very friendly and helpful. We go for birthdays, anniversaries, and special events. We've always enjoy Trabuco Oaks Steakhouse.
Overall the food was really good but my husband said his baby backs were on the fatty side because they didn’t trim the knuckles of the ends of the bones. Everything else was great. I got an extra side of shrimp and they grilled and good sized. They were yummy. I had green beans and mushrooms and they were outstanding.
As usual, Trabuco Oaks serves up some of the best steaks, filet, and refreshing beer over the more expensive places in nearby RSM. The place was not crowded and we enjoyed a very nice business dinner with our collegues visiting from our sister company in Lincoln, Nebraska. This is one of the first places that I treat visitors to the area for a good dining experience.
Went here for a Birthday and food was excellent and service was great.
Since my husband was a young boy, he has celebrated his birthdays at Trabuco Oaks. We had a delightful evening with our friends, laughing, eating and sharing stories. The food was great, service perfect and the memories priceless.
