Troquet on South
Always a great experience. If you happen to visit this fall I suggest you try the Salmon as it is exquisite.
Troquet is a place that does nearly everything well. The wine by the glass list is great and starting the night with a wine flight is very fun. Servers know their wine and enjoy talking about it. Great value wines by the glass in hefty 6oz pours. Food is very good, my steak was a little overdone but still tasty and everything else we ate was delicious.
I went here for my birthday, the experience was amazing! We tried the five course meal and it was very filling. The five course meal actually contains 7 total food items. 5 protein + 1 bread course+ 1 desert.
Excellent service and great food!
This is a hidden gem among boston’s culinary circuit. The wait staff is always informative and quite knowledgeable regarding the extensive wine list. It’s always remarkable to visit and explore their menu. I have to say the salmon is arguably one of the best dishes in all of Boston.
Troquet has a legendary wine list and one of the most talented chefs in Boston.
Troquet is one of the best places in Boston. The food, service, cocktails and ambience are all top notch.
Our waiter was awesome and the food is to die for!
Phenomenal food and beers
Excellent meal despite COVID accommodations. Will be back for the great service and wonderful culinary experience.
Service was great. The outdoor set up was nice though the plates used were way too big especially for the size of the tables. The fois gras was nice though there cherry sauce was a little heavy handed. The duck was poor .. not tender and only a small piece. The steak fritte for my daughter and the duck were both way too salty !! The fries with the steak fritte was extremely salty and the celery salt used was very pronounced. Overall disappointing.
Update: I received an email from Jake, the GM at Troquet upon reading my review. It was nice that he reached out and wanted to invite us back for a different experience. Alas we are heading back to NYC nevertheless it was a nice response from Torquet and appreciated
Beef in wine was almost as delicious as the potato chips with warm onion dip.
Love Troq! Felt very safe & distanced. The staff as always is incredibly welcoming and stellar :)
Waitress was lovely and brought us frosè on the house with our dessert
Excellent from start to finish. Service was on point; attentive without being overbearing, with a very knowledgeable team. The food was spectacular and well-presented. Can’t wait to return-
Excellent all around. The food, the service, the presentation and a fantastic wine list to boot!
Great, welcoming bartenders and wait staff.
French themed but approachable menu. Outstanding array of cocktails, wines and beers.
Love Troq! So glad they’re back. Perfect for a night out with friends- good food, drinks, and an awesome playlist.
Amazing food. So much better than the interior would dictate. The food was inspired and beautifully presented.
Phenomenal food and wine and sat outdoors on a beautiful summer evening.
I would argue there is not a better restaurant in Boston. Food, cocktails, and wine are consistently amazing and of the highest quality!
Made a really great effort to make a lovely experience with social distancing
Always great - glad Troquet has reopened!!
Extremely tasty lunch! Thank you so much! Highly recommend
Wonderful setting, delicious food, and great service. These are the key elements of fine dining. I highly recommend this establishment.
For the price, I expected more. Much more.
The food was good, not great. Two people in our party order the Duck l'Orange and although it had very good favor, the meat was tough.
The wines paired with meals were spot on.
The service was ok. Ok isn't good enough for that price point.
Very high end and nice. The food was delicious and the food was unreal. The portions are quite small as a note, bit would recommend for a special occasion.
Steve is an excellent waitperson. The food was very good The service was exceptional.
Wonderful food.. we had the foie gras, the bolognese and the ricotta dumplings with shredded truffles... started with some Schramsburg sparkling wine...
Service was exceptional and so was the food. We had the Bluefin tuna tartare and the celery root veloute as appetizers, followed by Duck a l'orange and the strip steak. All four dishes were wonderful. We finished off the evening with the pear tarte and the chocolate mousse which were both divine. We chose the wines that were paired with our food choices and we were not disappointed. We had an excellent meal and will definitely return!
Simply put: this is not fine dining. Had the 7-course chef's tasting selection. Our waiter was either inexperienced or checked out, but offered little insight into the tasting menu, liqueur available, or anything else. The food was adequate, though nothing special. Multiple uses of foams, each of which was nearly tasteless. My small piece of lobster was undercooked, which is a sin. I order steak and pork medium-rare, but chicken and shellfish shouldn't get the same treatment. With only a few hanging pictures and little else, the dining room lacks character. Similarly, the restaurant manager was dressed like he was going to run errands and not like someone in charge of a fine dining establishment. I don't have an issue with paying $350+ for two people for a satisfying culinary experience, we just didn't have it.
We enjoyed our dinner and the restaurant, but we had the impression that there was a problem in the kitchen that evening. A couple of entrees seemed a little undercooked, and we were disappointed that the original menu had been changed, leaving off the red snapper dish, which is outstanding.
I went there with my fiancé for the Valentine’s Day dinner. The portion is typical French cuisine style. The had prix fixe menu and the options were limited but fine. They’ve huge wine selection. Most likely the best in the town. Overall, the food was good but not impressive. The creme brûlée was a bit too sweet to me.
Our service was average, but the waiter to the table next to us us very attentive. So I guess depends on who you got, the service you receive would vary.
Fantastic Valentine's Day Dinner - Food was wonderful and the service was impeccable. Also one of the best restaurants for sure-fire wine pairing recommendations.
Troquet is a fantastic French restaurant that has a lively bar scene up front and an elegant, quiet dining room in the back. Known for their extensive wine list, they also have an amazing menu, great cheese plate, and excellent service. I would go again for a special occasion.
Consistently terrific. Fabulous food, wine and service. One of the best restaurants in Boston.
So delicious! Tasty and delicious and very good wait service. Highly recommend for lunch.
Delicious food and timely friendly service, love the historic location
Always a wonderful experience. Truly a wonderful experience.
