   We had been to the Mosaic location of True Food Kitchen but this was our first time to the Reston restaurant. It did not disappoint! We sat outside with our dog (they were attentive to providing her with a bowl of fresh water) and ordered several different items to share among the four of us. The cauliflower is a staple for any visit, and we added to that a flatbread, salad (they put the steak in the side so we could share among vegetarians at the table), mushroom and spinach pizza (the almond ricotta is delicious!), and a tuna poke bowl. All delicious and plenty for four. Our server Elizabeth was a delight - attentive, friendly, and charming. We will be back (and will ask for her if she is working)!

   The level of concern for my allergies was outstanding. Lauren our server exhibited such empathy and willingness to make sure our order was correct. The manager also came over to make sure everything was acceptable. So happy to have somewhere safe to eat.

    It had been a very long time since we dined in a restaurant and this was a delightful reintroduction. Ben--our server--was charming, knowledgable, efficient and not intrusive. The food was everything we recalled about True Food--healthy (or so we like to think) and tasty. We sat on the patio in the shade apart from other diners. The only somewhat negative note was the music that was being played, which ideal for many people but a little relentless for us and not really troubling or loud.

    I love this addition to the restaurants in Reston Town Center. The food is so healthy and fresh. I love the kale Cobb salad and I added chicken. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating. Great place for lunch or brunch.

    The food is heavy on kale and “ancient grains”. I will grant that the usual soft drinks (Diet Coke) are not healthy, but the selection of alternative drinks, mostly lemonade mixes, aren’t that healthy either. The menu seems mostly about virtue signaling, and the food, while not very good is pretty expensive.

    We had the cauliflower appetizer, it was good, but not the best I’ve had. The Tortilla Corn soup was excellent, highly recommend. I had the Korean Steak, which was quite good. My wife had one of the burgers and she really enjoyed it. For those with Gluten allergies like my wife, it is a good place to go and had a wider offering than many restaurants (including the Tortilla Corn soup). We will return.

    The TrueFood at Mosaic is so much better. The burgers are always over cooked at Reston. Not sure why the difference.

    My husband and I brought our family whom never tried True Food Kitchen and were absolutely blown away with the food. They immediately thought the place was cute, service was great as usual. But the food was the highlight of everyone’s evening. We enjoy going back often due to the unique and ever changing menu and love that some of our favorites stay on there too. The Edamame Dumplings are a MUST! Maybe even get your own so you don’t have to share.

    First time; Open Table and restaurants’s description online helped immensely in choosing. Wife is a vegetarian, so it really helped to have multiple choices on the menu for her. Even our most finicky eater child found something on the menu she really enjoyed. Prices reasonable, portions just right. Anticipate going back this summer at some point, despite there being many restaurant choices between where we live and there.

    The meal was delicious! We went for Mother’s Day for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. Everything was fresh, there were many Gluten free options and yummy cocktails. Will definitely go back!

    Found True Food Kitchen (Reston Town Center) on Happy Cow and made a reservation a week in advance for Mother's Day. Arrived a few minutes prior to our 10:15 am reservation. The establishment was, at best, @ 1/4 full. We waited a couple minutes while they looked up our reservation, and then were led past numerous, empty, properly staged tables to the back near the takeout counter and door to the outside. Not only was it adjacent to the “takeout” door, which opened and closed letting a blast of the 40+ degree weather in; but when we arrived the table hadn’t even been cleaned nor set. After a brief kerfuffle where the host staff halfheartedly wiped the tabletop and placed three utensil settings. What they didn’t do was put a centerpiece (there was a floral center piece on every other table), nor the QR code to access the menu, nor even regular paper menus to make up for the missing QR code. After being seated, we discovered that the table was the type where only three of the legs contact the floor at any one time. Still not being ones to just leave (shame on us) we asked the waiter about vegan options. Turns out that for all their posturing, True Food has only two true Vegan offerings and can ‘modify” some of the salads to be vegan but nothing on the brunch menu works. Although, to be fair most of the desserts are vegan…and the server did offer to have the kitchen whip up avocado toast without the eggs, although he felt it wasn’t substantial enough to be a brunch that way. We ordered three coffees (drip) and a vegan mango dessert along with a flourless chocolate cake . While the food and beverage quality was not bad, I’m certain it wasn’t worth the $30+ bill that came with it. Oh, and that rickety table, constantly sloshed the coffee over the rim when ever one of us moved… Aside from the waiter, this place failed to demonstrate even the most basic customer service. We'll give it a pass in the future - suggest you do the same.
