This was my first visit to Tupelo Honey in Columbia, SC. However, because I've had great experiences in Charlotte and Greenville, I recommended it to my friends for brunch to wrap up a reunion weekend. They enjoyed the food. However, because it was not my first time, my expectations were higher beginning with having silverware available for an 1130AM brunch reservation. I found this odd for this establishment and the volume of customers visiting on the weekend. There were mixed emotions from my group when we were offered plastic utensils instead of silverware. Like many, my personal favorite is the chicken and waffles. Granted, I haven't visited in a while; however, I could not process that I didn't have the option to get bone-in chicken and waffles any longer. Overall, the group enjoyed the food, yet again, I recommended the location for brunch based on the level of customer service and dining experience. Given that, it wasn't 100% yesterday. Food was good, service not so much! Waited 40 minutes for food after we ordered. Had to locate waitress for update and all we got was, "We're busy today".

I had the smothered chicken. The gravy was more like thick goop, with the consistency of cream cheese and it was cold. I don’t ever have to go back, so I will not. I’ve made better at home for my family. 2/10 Don’t recommend.

They were very accommodating to our larger group in town for a wedding. Food was delicious and server Kishori was welcoming and efficient.

Evening out on vacation with southern style food. Unfortunately they were out of several things we tried to order but what we ended up having was good.
