Tuscany Ristorante Italiano - Williamsburg

My husband & I had dinner for 2. The ambience was classy yet casual, the service was wonderful, the food was absolutely delicious, and the prices were around what I expected ($16-30/ entree). As we are currently in the "covid period", extra cleaning, mask wearing, and social distancing measures were in place, which was good to see, too. We'll be eating here again!

As always, the food was consistently good and plentiful. There is a wide variety from which to choose and I've never been with anyone who didn't enjoy their meal. I wish that they had better (higher quality) choices of wines by the glass but do appreciate that they offer half-carafe options.

We wanted a nice romantic evening for two but were placed next to a loud group of 8 and another of 6. We asked to be moved and were eventually accommodated but we shouldn’t have been put in that situation in the first place.

I had the triple parmesan and it was excellent. Meals come with a bowl of salad and garlic knots

It was New Years Eve so they were in a hurry to seat as many people as possible, We ordered our appetizer and before we were half way through it the main course came out.
Our appetizer consisted of mussels marinara and the portion was huge that's all that can be said for it. My wife and I enjoy them but these were large and over cooked and were not hot.

Grandma must have frozen her pizzas. Meatballs were very dry with little flavor.

Excellent dining experience. Amid the pandemic service was spot on, choices plentiful and portions overwhelmingly, no complaints here. Took food home, typical of an Italian restaurant. I highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion. Family friendly or first date.

The salad and bread were very good. My husband enjoyed the oyster appetizer. I ordered bruschetta it was below average. The dinner portions were large. Both of our pasta dishes were not very good. The sauce was very salty and the pasta was over done. We would not go back.

Our dinners were very good. This restaurant's food is consistent and the service is very attentive. One critique, however, are the wine selections by glass or carafe. While reasonably priced, they are mediocre at best. Plus, they seem to run out of choices. Considering they are likely jug wines, it doesn't make sense to not have all of them available.

Tuscany has become our new favorite Italian restaurant. Lots of great menu choices and specials. Love the very personal and professional service. Always good wine and an amazing meal with more for tomorrow.

Don't be deterred by the strip-mall location. The food and service were outstanding! The lasagna serving was delicious and huge, and the the triple parmesan was tasty and satisfying (chicken, veal, and shrimp).

We were meeting another couple from New Jersey for a 6:30 pm reservation on Thursday evening. I called ahead to inform them I would be bringing a bottle of sparkling wine which would need to be chilled in an ice bucket as soon as we arrived. But when we got there they did not have any ice buckets and our server told us she did not know how to ice the bottle down. I had a small Styrofoam cooler with ice in my car so I retrieved it to keep our sparkling wine iced down. I also brought a bottle of high end red wine vintage 2010 and asked our server to decant it. She seemed perplexed and finally told us they do not have decanters. They have an extensive menu and a separate menu of specialties of the day. We started with appetizers for sharing and they were fine. But when our wives ordered one of their specialties our server returned from the kitchen and informed us they did not have it. So our wives ordered another appetizer which reached our table at tepid temperatures. After dinner we asked for cappuccinos but their cappuccino machine was broken. Their food portions are large and prices typical of an Italian restaurant striving to offer a fine dining experience. But they were far off the mark.

We were pleasantly, surprised wit the delightful experience. We chose Tuscany at random and found the quiet environment was a perfect compliment to the wonderful bill of fair. The portions were ample and even the bread was an experience. the Ciopino is not to be missed. Bar service was quick and efficient with healthy pours of wine. Overall a wonderful evening with great personal service.

We chose Tuscany Ristorante Italiano for our 39th Anniversary dinner based on a prior visit. Due to COVID, we stayed stateside (we were booked for a Jamaican vacation). For 30+ years we've made Williamsburg a twice a year visit (Spring and Fall)...a 6 hour drive from NJ. So it was our short getaway during the pandemic. We had numbers of choices for a celebratory dinner, but chose Tuscany for its food, menu selection, service and décor.

It was extremely convenient that Tuscany was an Open Table member and under COVID conditions, acquiring reservations fortunate with limited seating. My request for quiet and intimate seating was honored. The staff fully observed COVID policies with both masks and gloves, and we felt comfortable in the environment.

The server was attentive and responsive. Only one communications issue arose having to do with a request for Caesar salad. She did not explain that the salad was prepared for the entire table in a single bowl, so when a request for plain lettuce with Caesar dressing was made, she replied "We won't do that." When the salad (large bowl, ample and well made) arrived we appreciated why our request was 'unusual'. Had she explained, we would have immediately understood. Aside from that one hiccup, all else was wonderful.

Wine and Beer were ample portions, and the meals much to our liking. My wife had Chicken Francoise, and I had a Seafood Risotto Special that included chicken, sausage, mushrooms and oysters (which was extremely good). Both were large portions.

I highly recommend the Tuscany.

Extremely disappointed. The kitchen closed early. Our dinner was rushed. Multiple courses delivered simultaneously and the food got cold.

Treating myself

The staff at Tuscany are very accommodating and are willing to adjust any menu item to fit your needs. The portions are more than ample and food is consistently very good. It's a great neighborhood go-to place.

The waitress was very kind and friendly. I really like the fact that I made a reservation and was able to change it 15 minutes before I was supposed to be there. The portion of food was a lot and the prices were nice.

My wife and I ate at Tuscany on Friday, 9/25. It is one of the true hidden gems of Williamsburg. Fantastic food and service in a discreet location. We shared the mushroom appetizer (shown)—amazing. My wife had the eggplant parmigiana and I had the parmigiana trio special. We shared berry cake for desert. Everything was amazing. And the waiter was very professional and attentive. A great evening.

Great little neighborhood restaurant. They serve the freshest salad with your entree, and main courses are very, very good, also their garlic knots are the best. We love going there.
