Tweeds Restaurant & Buffalo Bar
Place was packed when we got there at our reservation time, went to sit at the bar. Great selection of cocktails. Seated at 8:20, for a 7:45 reservation. Food was great. Nice and cozy.
We had a wonderful table and the service was great. we enjoyed our dinner. The price is so high which was their bison burger 2 beers a share salad plus a shared calmari. with tip $100.00 .
We will not return because of the price.
Wonderful bison filet served perfectly !
Had a reservation, waited over an hour to be seated. After 4 couples walked in who all had reservations but one, who were off the street all got seated before us.
Amazing service and great food. Small place but well worth the trip.
I believe Tweed's is one of the best restaurants on Long Island. Its culinary quality never disappoints. The bar produces top shelf cocktails. Intimate historic ambiance is suitable for special occasions
My husband and I had a great dining experience at Tweeds. I had a NY strip steak and my husband had oysters (he said were so good) and a burger...Outstanding (his words as well). Tweeds is a small pub like restaurant...so if you're going with a crowd expect to wait a bit....On OpenTable I requested a special seat either by the window or by the fireplace...they accommodated my request! We just had to wait a few minutes at the bar. I really didn't think they would be able to find us our requested seat...but they did! I already recommended this restaurant and I will again!
Friendly staff, impressive wine list and delicious Bison. I ordered the duck which was just ok in comparison to other restaurants. Chocolate cake was dry. The biggest disappointment was that the side dishes to the Bison steak and the duck were plain boiled rice and vegetables. No garlic, oil, herbs or anything to the plain bland rice and vegetables. They were ignored and treated as an afterthought, which would be ok if the price was lower. I’ll come again, but for lunch, not dinner.
Food was delicious!
Service was okay - it was Valentines day so it is understandable.
Dirty Martini wasn't the best but it was okay!
Bison Carpaccio was like butter just melted apart
Lobster Ravioli was to die for. Thick chunks of Lobster so so good!
Great experience as always at Tweeds. The owner always greets you, the staff is always going out of their way to make the dining great, and the food was spot on.
We wanted to try meats different from our experience on Valentine's Day. The bison was tender and tasty and the quail was delicious. I'd never had halibut, either, and it lived up to recommendations. We loved the pianist. Service was good considering the "cozy" arrangement of tables and bar. A little more space to sit down and get up would be good; New Yorkers usually don't like someone brushing against their shoulder.
Kim (GM) and her staff were awesome! Great food! Great drinks! Spot on!
Tweeds has not only fantastic food but fantastic service as well! Highly recommend, they went above and beyond to make my husband feel special on his birthday.
THANK YOU! We love to make birthdays special! come back soon and please tell your friends to give us a try!
My husband and I came with 2 of my brothers and their spouses. We all enjoyed our dinners, waiter and comfortable feeling . We would definitely recommend Tweets and hope to visit again soon.
Beautiful old classic setting. Food was freshly prepared, cooked vegetables were crisp and tasty. I had the bison filet mignonette. It was tender and melted in my mouth. Long Island chowder hot and made with fresh ingredients. The service was excellent and helpful when asked for suggestions. You will not be disappointed.
Normally a good restaurant. Food ws overdone and the plac was a mob scene. Do not recommend for holidays. The place is just too small.
Love the ambiance and the food.
Tweeds is a cozy, warm place, with a twist. They specialize in bison. It's always been good quality, nicely presented, and delicious. To add to the unusual menu, I ordered a special steak...elk! Very good. It was a hanger steak, sliced, finished with a cognac sauce.
The service the other night was adequate, but not friendly. We witnessed another waitress smiling and chatting with her customers. There was none of that with ours...even when we asked a question.
The only other negative was that it's a small place and the tables are very close to one another.
The atmosphere is kind of comfy and quirky, the lighting perfect, and overall a place that we generally enjoy. We'll be back!
Lamb chops were great with a wonderful mustard sauce. Oysters were good. Didn’t get dessert because service was so bad
Always great. One of my favorite local restaurants
We had a wonderful experience tab Tweeds. From the moment we entered greeted and seated with courteous staff. Mike the bartender was especially attentive to us and our guests. Our server Kim went out of her way to make us comfortable and make sure our meals were served exactly as enough ordered. Great level of hospitality.
We've been to this restaurant before, but this time the service was really slow and there seemed to be a lot of confusion about who was doing what. One person finally got us drinks, another came to take our dinner order, we had to flag someone else down to get another drink, etc. The food was good but the salad was ridiculously large for an appetizer - it was enough for 4 people - that is just silly. The space is cramped and with so many people sitting at the bar you sort of had to "negotiate" to up from the table and use the restroom.
Beautiful atmosphere w quaint decorating. The staff was very knowledgeable and accommodating. Food was just delicious. Will definitely return and recommend
Always great! Tweed's is one of my favorite local restaurants. Very consistent.
An impressive bar with a very enjoyable pianist combined with friendly, efficient service and, of course, a truly interesting menu made our Thanksgiving a visit to late nineteenth century Long Island.
Thank you, Mike, Please come back to visit us again.
But I would let them know the prices for the food value
Took the family for the in-laws 56th anniversary. Everyone loved it. Great food and drinks. Nice live piano music for ambience. Service was standard and the tip was already priced in at 20% due to 6 in the party. A little pricey (e.g. $22 for regular sized portion of fried calamari and $58 for Waygu strip steak and $12 for a small piece of chocolate pudding cake) but overall a great night out.
A very popular restaurant on a Saturday night. Food was very good and our server was efficient. However, for the price charged for every item, nothing spectacular. Fried oysters as an appetizer are $22, which seems high - nothing wrong with them, just not exceptional. Expect to spend at least $100 @ person, a bottle of good wine included. Our server, while competent, offered little interest in his work or in our table. Again, nothing offensive, just rather bland. Tables crowded together so much that our party of four was more like a party of six with the couple elbow to elbow with us. We are local to this restaurant, but given the ever-growing number of North Fork restaurants, I doubt we'll return any time soon, and we'll certainly avoid a Saturday night.
Overcooked meat. Frazzled waitress. Long wait times and high prices. Mediocre dessert selection at top quality prices. Wouldn't go back.
Beautiful place attentive staff. Piano music with singer. Nice cozy feel. Good quality food. Overall will be back.
Thank you so much Tina! Please come back soon
Cozy comfortable atmosphere. Very nice menu with something for everyone. Attentive service. A great end of day dinner after the day at wineries out East
There must have been something wrong in the kitchen the night we ate here. Our reservation was for 7:30 and we got seated at 8:30. The hostess had us wait at the bar and we were given a drink on the house by the owner Ed. He was a wonderful man who told us all about the history of the restaurant and his family, it made the night much more tolerable and very interesting. Our dinners were good and would recommend Tweeds but I hope they get new kitchen staff.
Thank you for visiting us Maria. Your feedback is very important to us. Tweed's staff works hard. We have the best intentions to serve all of our guests with great food and great service. It is our top priority to immediately seat guests with reservations. Our goal is to deliver exceptional service and create positive memorable experiences for our guests. Although we aim for perfection, please understand we try our best. Unexpected situations do occur at times. We apologize for your wait.
Never had a bad meal here - they always exceed expectations!
First time we have been here and will NOT be the last.... WOW ... what a great restaurant...and what great service.... we will be back !!!
Pumpkin bisque soup was delicious. Mushroom with ricotta and spinach was returned as just not prepared well and tasted off. Halibut was clearly frozen and probably from a package as it was like a square patty. Very expensive for mediocre food. Service was very good by bar maid and she was very nice.and removed the mushroom entree from our bill but still i was surprised how expensive the final lunch bill was. Tweeds may be better suited to buy bison burgers and beer.
The food is always great and the service too! We look forward to coming back next summer when we are back in the Hamptons!
The best place in the area, by far.
Great interesting food, deliciously prepared at a reasonable price. Very small place
Haven’t been there in many years but so glad we found this restaurant again. Food and service was wonderful!
wonderful atmosphere. Friendly service. Would recommend
