I did mention that the current placemats need to be changed. Experienced pulls on my knit sweater
We only had to wait a few minutes for our reservation. Our waiter was quick with water and came back in a timely manner to take our order. The lobster roll is delicious! I wish they had more choices for sides other than potato chips. The menu is small but the things I've tried have all been very tasty. Slow service continues to be a problem here, especially before concerts and plays. But all in all, it's a great place for lunch and dinner.
Convenient for symphony and theatre. Price has risen considerably and menu smaller. Restaurant could use refurbishing.
A 5-star rating seems appropriate as we were a group of five and everything was wonderful, from making the reservation, being greeted upon arrival, service at our table, the variety and taste of meals, and the ability to relax until we departed. Kudos to the 1280 team!
Thre service was excellent. Wine selection was great. Skip the steak - is was lower quality, extremely salty, and not worth the price.
Please dim the lights for dinner and maybe add table candles and tablecloths to complete a look and feel of the best restaurant on midtown.
When visiting the High Museum or Atlanta Symphony Hall this is an excellent restaurant with good food and service and conveniently located on the plaza between the two locations. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Superb service. From the time I entered until I left, this restaurant understands the term "hospitality." The food was well thought out, with some nice twist such as the lamb ribs with an asian presentation and the flash fried lobster tails.
Very good food and service
Very nice experience. We were seated quickly, drinks were ordered and brought to the table promptly. The entree's were on the table quickly. Our server did an excellent job of taking care of us. Food quality was top notch.
Excellent food & service - my date & I were there before a concert & we had a first class meal & got out in plenty of time for the event - I highly recommend them
Food was good, service mediocre at best
Although the food is excellent, we do miss the old menu.
food not as good as in past. didn’t like new menu
served dinner 5 min after salad
Everything was warm, welcoming, delicious and the best of southern hospitality!! We loved the very sophisticated menu!! MANY, many thanks!!
The menu has changed and left very few options for Pescitarians
The noise level is very high
Another great evening at Twelve Eighty! Love the staff and the food. Thanks!!
Good food at a reasonable price. However, the dining room has the ambiance of a high school cafeteria. Sit in the bar if you can.
Good food and using the reservation there was no wait. The only thing we did not like was the shape of the chairs. The food was great and the service was fast. I would eat here again.
The four of us dined at Twelve Eighty before we went into Symphony Hall. Modern ambiance mostly of glass since this was an art gallery before it was a restaurant, I believe. Very convenient to any event in the Woodruff Art Center. The food was very good and not too pricey for the city. The grouper was very nicely prepared, as was the duck breast and linguini with clams. The Five Spice lamb ribs were missing one spice...SALT. Once I added a bit, they were fine. The cheese plate appetizer was delicious with several types of cheeses, crackers & quince cubes. We all had creme broulet for dessert that was perfectly prepared and so creamy. Service was good but it seemed our waiter spent too much time at the bar, leaving the young lady who refilled our water to do all of the work after the food was delivered. She did a great job of getting us things missing from the table, like salt & pepper, the dessert menu and the final check. All in all, a really nice dinner and we would definitely come back.
Pre theatre/pre concert meal
Slow and inattentive service. Waitress was inexperienced. Lamb was over cooked. Host comped meal but I didn’t have time to order since we were going to a show. And waitress knew that.
Our first visit since the change in chefs and menu. We’ll definitely be back!
We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of service, food, and drink we had before the show! My husband had the scallops and I had the linguine and clams. Delightful service, scrumptious food and wonderfully priced! We will be back!
Everything was terrific, but the bar orders took a very long time. My husband ordered an old-fashioned, but it came without any garnish (usually an orange slice and a cherry). We were told that the bar was out of cherries!! To add insult to injury, I discovered we were double charged for the drink, paying for two instead of the one we actually got. But the food was outstanding, and the wait staff was wonderful. The bar seems to need some better oversight.
I wish to thank the maitre d' who honored my request to sit in the quiet (and warmer) dining area even though there were only tables set for 4 or more remaining-he was so gracious, the meal was outstanding and 1280 remains one of my favorite places to dine:)
The atmosphere at 1280 has always been wonderful. The service it was excellent and the food equally delicious. The lobster roll was something I think a New Englander would enjoy. It was perfect!
Food is as very good. Service was excellent. I was glad that we were seated on the side of the restaurant that has some ambiance.
My wife and I had drinks & dinner to celebrate her birthday before going to ATL Symphony Christmas Concert. We ended up staying at bar for dinner because of friendly/professional service, ambiance, & fun “people watching”. Food was exceptional and beautifully presented. Restaurant has raised their bar after new management & their team “has it together”. Would recommend if in the neighborhood for museum or concert, but would also recommend as a “destination”.
This is the second time we have been there in two weeks. We will be back over and over again. The food is outrageously good service is impeccable. Bravo to the entire staff.
For my Mom’s birthday. Lunch and a show at The Alliance theatre. Inattentive wait staff. Had to ask for refills on drinks. Slow to offer pepper grinder. For the price, ok food, small portions, fair service. Disappointed.
I always go here before the alliance theater or the symphony. It’s an excellent restaurant, staffed by friendly and helpful people.
We always enjoy dinner at 1280. Interesting cuisine, pleasant ambiance and tasteful background music. The serving staff are very attentive and pleasant without being irritating. I enjoyed the seared scallops and my husband the grouper. Both perfectly prepared with interesting sides.
Despite getting my order wrong originally, the host offered a complimentary drink to make it up. Gestures like this go a long way and will be back the next time I visit the High Museum.
Had a fantastic time, spotless and comfortable environment with classical music, our server was outstanding, and the manager Tommy approach to the table on two occasions to check everything was excellent. We had the lobster tail as an appetizer and the NY Strip as dinner. Everything was delicious and in perfect presentation. I recommend this restaurant 100%
WE enjoy dining at Table 1280 prior to ASO or Alliance Theater performances.
There seems to be a new management company and a new chef with a new menu. It feels like the menu is much more limited than before and fewer offerings that are in a mid price range. Most things seem either small plate size (and overpriced) or full size which - while pricey- offer a better value but are just about TOO much food. After spending a tidy sum on tickets and parking, be prepared to shell out more. The steak; first pass, wasn’t seasoned very well but cooked perfectly. The accompanying onion sauce wasn’t very good and very salty. The lobster tails app came with 2 sauces that totally overwhelmed the lobster meat. Overall have been disappointed with the changes.
We enjoyed our meals. Wish they would bring back some of the basics from the old menu, such as the chicken and the salmon.
Loved the experience before our orchestra show. Amazing service and great plates.
We have been to Twelve Eight several times the past few years. Hadn't been for a several months, however this time the menu had so totally changed that none of our favorites were on the menu. What was there was rather narrow in choices. Would like to see some of the old menu returned, like the crab cakes or the filet. It used to have more southern type dishes on the menu as well.
