Outstanding meal - our waiter wasn't the most attentive, but there were no problems with the meal and they made sure that we were done with plenty of time to find our seats for ASO afterwards.
1280 has a broad and interesting menu that is well executed, is presented reasonably quickly, and tastes delicious.
Jeneille makes every visit to Twelve EIghty a pleasure!
Perfect spot for a pre matinee lunch. Our party of three had an excellent gourmet lunch for a reasonable price. The service was friendly and attentive and we loved the airy and light filled modern decor with a view of the plaza between museum and theater.
The food was lackluster and the service disappointing.
The food was fabulous as was the service.
Wait time for entree was almost 30 minutes.
Grouper was tough
Had to slice with a knife, minuscule slices of kale-not worth the cost.
And $18 for a glass of wine!
We will not return ever.
Wish it was different because location is so convenient for events at the Woodruff.
Not sure what was going on this past Saturday evening, but they knew we had theater tickets, yet did n't' take our order for over half an hour, forcing us to rush through our meal. They apologized sincerely, and brought us desserts on the house, which was lovely. But at this restaurant, on the Woodruff Arts Center campus, getting folks to the symphony and theater on time seems like job #1.
The menu is very limited.
The sauce for the scallops was too spicy hot. A good tasting plate does not need to be spicy hot. Leave that for Mexican food, like tacos.
Service was good. However, the server asked us if we wanted desert even though we had not finished our meal. We told him "no". Then he brings us the final check, but we wanted to have coffee, so I had to call the maître de and ask him for two cappuccino coffees, which he later added to another final check.
What a great staff! We usually eat here before attending the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, and it never disappoints us!
Food and service is very good. Ambience is pleasant. And it is convenient if you're going to attend any performance at the Woodruff Arts Center.
We were well pleased with everything; I got to indulge my yen for the lobster rolls.
Husbands food wasn’t prepared correctly - fish was kcwr
Good food, nice ambiance, decent service. Good value.
Very limited menu. Everything we have tried has been very good, but menu choices are very limited. Always excellent service. This past time, the waitperson misunderstood our order, so one dish was wrong. He took it back and within 5 minutes the correct dish was brought out.
This is a great place for drinks and dinner before Woodruff Arts Center events; it could be made even better with an expanded and varied menu.
I love 1280. A stunningly beautiful space; excellent food; wonderful service. The perfect place to meet a friend, take family members, enjoy a bite before or after going to the High Museum. In fact, eating at 1280 is a great extension of any High Museum experience.
Our guests had not been to 1280 and thoroughly enjoyed the location and ambiance, the food and service, so we were once again pleased to have booked the table. The servers were attentive without being obtrusive. Food beautifully and pleasantly served, and of course delicious. We’ve always been very glad to eat there pre-performance.
We always enjoy Twelve Eighty. Good food, good service, close to Symphony Hall and theaters. Please expand the selection of Japanese whiskies. Nikka is good but many additional options are available. Hibiki, Yamaguchi, etc.
The menu selection was not very good. Choices were limited. The desserts were the best of the menu selections. There was no N/A beer or ginger beer available. Also the room was cold so I was forced to wear my coat most of the meal. The best thing about the restaurant was its location which I am sure brings in people planning to attend a concert. I thought prices were high for the food items.
It was freezing in the area that was open and very noisy by the bar. Although we requested the heat be turned up we were told that they had no control over the heating. The silverware and table top was very cold to the touch and we rushed through dinner to go to theater where it was warm.
We have eaten at 1280 many times before theater and find that it is less and less a pleasant and tasty experience. What has happened? Poor management?
it's the perfect place for pre-theatre dining. the staff knows full well that everyone must be finished by showtime, yet the pace and quality are spot-on. very nice
This is the perfect restaurant for pre-theater dining. I love the ease of parking, dinner and show. The food is interesting and always well paces for a performance.
I love the fact that it's in the right place when I attend Symphony or the theater. Not always happy with the dinner menu since there are not enough choices for some of my friends.
Very prompt service before the theatre!
I had linguini with clam sauce. There were only 3 clams, and one was not open i.e. not fresh when cooked. The sauce and pasta were very nice.
I ordered the scallops. They were well-cooked but the sauce was waaaaay to strong for such a delicate shellfish. I think a more delicate sauce would have enhanced the scallops. Wine was yummy and the service was just fine.
Excellant. Warm and inviting service... everyone focused on pleasing. Food fabulous!
The service was great; the staff here is terrific!
Very friendly & professional staff. The food was excellent. I'll definitely return.
We dined in the bar. Food and service were outstanding, as were the cocktails.
Perfect spot for a break from the activities around. Food was attractively presented but dry.
Upbeat vibe, very bright and open. Limited menu, but good quality food.
I did mention that the current placemats need to be changed. Experienced pulls on my knit sweater
We only had to wait a few minutes for our reservation. Our waiter was quick with water and came back in a timely manner to take our order. The lobster roll is delicious! I wish they had more choices for sides other than potato chips. The menu is small but the things I've tried have all been very tasty. Slow service continues to be a problem here, especially before concerts and plays. But all in all, it's a great place for lunch and dinner.
Convenient for symphony and theatre. Price has risen considerably and menu smaller. Restaurant could use refurbishing.
Best place to eat if you have tix to the ASO concert. The mussels were great, the fries were delicious. Not so much the lentil soup: too spicy IMO, and not such noted on the menu. Most likely we'll be back, before the next concert.
A 5-star rating seems appropriate as we were a group of five and everything was wonderful, from making the reservation, being greeted upon arrival, service at our table, the variety and taste of meals, and the ability to relax until we departed. Kudos to the 1280 team!
Thre service was excellent. Wine selection was great. Skip the steak - is was lower quality, extremely salty, and not worth the price.
Please dim the lights for dinner and maybe add table candles and tablecloths to complete a look and feel of the best restaurant on midtown.
When visiting the High Museum or Atlanta Symphony Hall this is an excellent restaurant with good food and service and conveniently located on the plaza between the two locations. I highly recommend this restaurant.
