We chose it on a whim for our first anniversary just by googling "romantic restaurants in Erie PA". We made a quick online reservation an hour prior...not knowing it was homecoming at a large area school. We were seated waterfront, brought water and drinks immediately. Pumpkin pie martini..dont laugh, if youre a pumpkin spice person you will want a second! ...and a seasonally spiced bourbon old fashioned. Celia was our server, obviously busy (party rooms were full) but extremely cordial. She advised appetizers, we were NOT disappointed. A cheese with mustard sauced apricots and fresh mint over grilled toast for me and burnt ends with pickled onions for him. Husband and I have adventurous palates. I had the parsnip soup, which I want again soon! The main courses were walleye, they allowed me to substitute the fries and I received young grilled, blackened asparagus. The crafted tartar sauce was excellent. Hubby had the NY strip which was done perfectly and tender beyond belief. It came with garlic butter and a scratch mayonnaise, which I took for the asparagus. If you go for nothing else, go for dessert! The brioche bread pudding, baked in cast iron skillets, served a la mode with caramel sauce. One is enough for two! Because it is within the Sheraton, people were casual to dressy. The bar had a football game on and cheers were heard. If we had any complaint at all, it was the plastic plant above us! Lol. There is outside dining, and a gate to the promenade which leads to the dock and tower. We were delighted, and we will go back. Prices are higher, but absolutely fair market. Cocktails run 13-15, starters and soups/specialty salads around 15, and plates 22 to 50, depending on pasta or steak. A smaller number of dishes always means higher quality. Cannot adequately explain how good the food truly was. "Kiss the cook" good! ...they do have a child's menu, several families were present. We heard from Celia that the burgers were quite good. Recommend!!
