Union Chicken - Front Street
It was my first time at Union Chicken and it was so good!! Definitely will be recommending to friends and family.
My friend and I ordered Crispy chicken and Rotisserie chicken, very moist and tasty, but was not hot enough. Somewhat pricey. Dining area is very small and congested. Very noisy. It's good for 1 or 2 persons for a quick bite and leave...may be this is the reason how the restaurant set up. Server not very pleasant and as soon as we finished without asking, he dropped the bill at our table and rushed to get the machine without asking if we need the machine or not. We may think twice before we want to go back. We may recommend this place to our friends but for experience only.
Great location if you are going to be in Union Station. Server was pleasant. Fries were great. I ordered the rotisserie quarter chicken leg for $13.95. It was literally 3 bites. Fries came with it so I would have been better off just ordering fries for $6.95. That's my main issue with the place. "Value".
food was good. nice restaurant, although tables for 2 are really close together.
Food is great! Really good food. Fries are delicious, roasted chicken moist and tasty, coleslaw amazing (But if you like it really creamy you probably won't like it)
It is noisy (I am in my fifties so maybe it is me) and the tables very close together.
They don't have soda water but they do have salt free sparkling water in a bottle with a hipster looking label. (Perhaps a hipster and soda stream?)
Finally, they didn't have my reservation on Open Table on their system even though I had my phone and showed them my confirmation. They seemed very flustered about the reservation system and I got a less desirable table because I 'didn't' have a reservation.
I will go back though. Food very good!
Great food and drink deals!
Great food, perfect venue before nba or nhl game
The fried Brussel sprout with vinaigrette appetizer is so good...it’s the only time i ever eat Brussel sprouts.
The OG chicken dinner is a favourite.
Service was excellent but the noise level was much too loud, eventually able to have a conversation when the resto was less full.
First time. We really enjoyed ourselves. Nice atmosphere. Paul was awesome. Definitely going back.
The service is fast and the foods taste great. It's not noisy and great for catching-up with a friend.
I had the Fried chicken sandwich and it was excellent. The only caveat is obvious - don't come here looking for healthy choices. The food is very rich and tasty. Good beer selection. Very convenient if you are going to the hockey game. I would recommend this restaurant.
Both rotisserie and fried chicken options were tasty! The OG plate for the no-bones enthusiast! Slaw and roasted Brussel sprouts were deelish too!
Came for the fried chicken, it was everything we wanted and more.
Need to offer chicken and waffles on the dinner menu and not just between 11am-3pm. Stock up on root beer too.
Delicious chicken and friendly service. The only thing I didn’t appreciate is that the tables are so close to each other. So hard to to get in and out of your table.
Birthday dinner before a Raptors game.
Great for pre concert at Scotia Bank Arena. I had a reservation at 6:00 and my friend was late so they let me change it until later even though they were very busy.
Excellent food - variety of dishes for different palettes. Exceptional fries.
Great food/ambiance, had a couple of items which we ordered that the waiter forgot to put through.
Rotisserie chicken was a little on the dry side but the deep fried chicken was phenomenal!
Great food but slow service - has to get my waitress’ attention all the times; not attentive at all
We enjoyed the visit to Union Chicken. The food was good and good value (we shared a full chicken among 3 people).
Location very convenient to transit and Scotiabank arena for Raptor and Leafs games.
Great as always.
Great chicken dishes! Service was friendly and prompt. Fun atmosphere. Will definitely return.
Union Chicken located At Union Station is a very vibrant spot inside a busy train station. The atmosphere is best suited if all of your guests and yourself plan to be loud. I was with a party of 4, and we had the full chicken instead of everyone ordering a quarter chicken (suggestion from our waiter so we can have 4 sides to share, And both white/dark meat without the extra if you order quarter). The meal was delicious and we left with our tummy filled (and some leftovers unfortunately). It is definitely tasty and worth its value. It’s definitely going back.
Union Chicken has an excellent concept. I've dined in both the Etobicoke/Sherway Gardens restaurant and in Union Station. Sherway is more sedate but the station restaurant is lively and fun. A great spot for before the hockey game or concerts, for example. The fried chicken is unparalleled and comes in sandwich or plate format. The spit-roasted chicken was tasty, served on traditional white bread, with a dipping sauce. Servers tried hard to please but it was very noisy at the dinner hour. Hard to talk. Even so, the food quality is excellent and creative, and the rotating taps for beer keeps it interesting.
Great fried chicken. The fries could be a lot better!
We ate at Union Chicken before a concert and LOVeD it! The staff was great and the food was delish. Great option right in Union Station. I will definitely recommend it to others.
The chicken was delicious but not so much the sides and it’s VERY noisy at lunch
too loud for a business meeting, food was good, service was good.
Good place for a quick dinner. Chicken was however slightly cold when we received it. But overall good. Love the free guac and chips! Will definitely come back.
Love union chicken! Great food and very convenient.
Fun experience at at the bar. A bit pricey for what you get
My only complaint is that they did not honour the gift card we had. They said “the system was down” but they would save it for the next time we came. Unacceptable business practice.
Amazing food and great atmosphere
Why list that you take reservations if you only serve appetizers after 10:00? I got in from a late flight and had...ummm..chicken wings. It took a while to flag down my server as he was busy cleaning up.
Service was good, but disappointed that server couldn’t arrange for a guest to have a pickle with her meal. She was even willing to pay for it, but server wouldn’t or couldn’t figure out how to request it. I understand the need for efficiency, but it was a very simple request.
I ordered the hot chicken and it was both moist and spicy. The service was also pretty quick. The only issue I had was that I had received a coupon for free Nachos and Guac but they had run out and they did not offer me a substitute. If you are running a promo to get people in, why would you want to leave a bad taste in their mouths by not being able to honour it?
Great chicken, nice service, good beers all at reasonable prices.
The service was good but the food mediocre. I expected crispy skin on a rotisserie chicken, but it wasn’t. The fries were Luke warm. Frying the potatoes three times I suspect is one too many. My friend and I, both French fry lovers only ate a few each. The chicken did not fall off the bone and there was nothing remarkable about it.
This will not draw me away from Swiss Chalet.
