Our entire dinner experience was fantastic from start to finish.

We conveniently made reservations through Open Table and were seated immediately when we arrived 10 minutes early.

All of the staff was fantastic, and our server Jamie was awesome! Very helpful, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu without being overbearing.

My salmon was cooked perfectly, as were the leek and squash sides that came with it. The real highlight of the meal, however, was the additional we ordered for the table: roasted squash with smokehouse bacon and sambal! Absolutely out of this world delicious.

The salted dark chocolate torte with hazelnut gelato and cherry confiture for dessert was a rich and decadent treat.

All in all, it was a fantastic dining experience, and we can't wait to return!

We had an incredible bartender that made artisan cocktails off the menu. And the food was delicious. I got the roasted chicken with house made gnocchi which was delicious! Such a good winter dish!

A magical way to spend Christmas Eve

My wife and I were in for the first time Friday Dec. 18 for our anniversary. Abigail was our server. She was very friendly, professional, and kind. We both loved the food. We felt safe.

Celebrating birthday with girlfriends!

Started at ‘The Inkwell’. I’m in the music business but even I know the music that should be in the ‘background’ for ambiance was more like the decibels at a dance club. Insane. It makes it so people have to talk loud.

Our meals were good. I had the salmon. Well prepared. But oddly served upside down with the skin up on top of sliced squash that was roasted (partially) in slices with the skin on. Lots to navigate and just not that good frankly. The side of bok choy was stringy not cooked well. The brussels sprouts appetizer was great. Service was outstanding felt like synchronized skating. She knew just how to respond and to ask questions. Paid attention to my date first and then me. Spot on. These are challenging times and I’m sure with the 9 PM deadlines which are stupid for fine dining (vs general bar biz) these establishments are doing their best. I appreciate this restaurant and look forward to normal there sometime
soon. Cheers!

4th time eating here since June. Was disappointed in the salmon and scallops, very small portions for $30 plates and comes with no sides essentially, just window dressing.

Have been a big fan in the past but a much lesser experience this time around.

Great Thanksgiving dinner! All was on point!

Food was spectacular and the service excellent.

Union offered some of the best food that we’ve had in Maine! I still think they have the best lobster role, so don’t miss their food at the Off the Record happy hour. So impressed!

An upscale setting, everything we had to eat for brunch was excellent, and the staff was friendly and personable. I was fortunate to be treated, and my good friend who picked up the tab said that it was a bargain compared to a comparable restaurant in Boston, which is where he works. The accommodations for Covid made us comfortable, without being overdone.

Delicious food, great service, perfect for.a romantic date night!

Everything was great except for the squash soup. It's was so lackluster in comparison to a the great flavors in a of the other dishes we had.

The ambience, food, and service were phenomenal at Union. The restaurant was beautifully designed and is a great spot for a family dinner/date. Would definitely recommend! Their duck confit special was delicious along with their lobster paella.

Favorite restaurant in Portland from the interesting menu, delicious and perfect execution of every part of our meal, excellent cocktails and on point atmosphere/service. Can’t wait to return.

Fabulous bar menu, excellent food, very well trained staff. So pleased to see as many women in the kitchen as men.

Could only get a late evening reservation for a good reason. We both had new menu additions, which were both hits. My wife's salmon was, in her words, the best salmon she has ever eaten. We eat a lot of salmon, so that's quite a statement. The skin was crispy, the flesh was perfectly cooked. Beautifully plated with its accompanying mixture of seasonal squashes. A great fall dish. I had seared sea scallops, also perfectly prepared and plated. Great and inventive cocktails and a shared dessert of fresh, hot zeppole with an apple butter dipping sauce.

Excellent food, perfect portions

As a brunch enthusiast, I'm constantly looking for a regular spot... And the Union just provided that!

After tasting a healthy sample of the menu: the pork belly sandwich, corned beef red flannel hash, crispy brussel sprouts, side of bacon, and a side of maple sausage... I can safely say that the food here is exceptional!

Also, the Bloody Mary (which is made by default here with my favorite: Titos), was top notch.

Jamie, our waitress, was awesome. Friendly, helpful, and fun. Always there when we needed a refill, but never intrusive. She really made the experience.

I've already made reservations for the next two weekends...
