UP on the ROOF
Great dining experience overlooking downtown Greenville from high above Riverplace. Food was very good. Not at all crowded because of a Monday night during pandemic, so was quiet with the feel of having the whole place to ourselves as my wife & I celebrated 24 years of marriage.
We wanted to eat here in the 4th of July to watch the fireworks and celebrate a birthday. When we arrived the hostess was very nice and professional. We decided to sit at the bar side so we could hang out a while after dinner. The waitress took our drink order and returned for the food order. When we ordered the food she ask for a CC to open a tab. I told her I didn’t want a table we are eating dinner. She said it didn’t matter everyone has to have a card on file. So we did that. We ordered a burger well done which came back medium. Not even close to well done. I ordered the nachos with the special cheese on the side. It came
Loaded with onions which were not in the items list on the menu so we sent both plates back. The waitress was nice about it but never apologized nor did a manager come visit. They were only 2/3 full at the time so this was not during a busy time. When we got the second round the food was very good. Highly recommend it. We met some other people while there and they had issues ordering and getting their drinks. The service was a little under par. No manager to correct our situation , no apology but the view and the food were great. The could be a 5 star place but I can’t give it on this visit.
The view was good. Booked and they asked if there was a special occasion, so told them it was our anniversary. Got there, and they put us in a corner table against the wall, and never mentioned the anniversary. They advertised drinks as "bottle"drinks they hand crafted, so we ordered. It was smaller than a soda bottle-- maybe
12 oz... and $12+ and way too sweet and very warm, no ice. Veggie meatballs were $11 for 3 tiny meatballs that were previously frozen...and not good. The veggie tempura was cooked good and good flavor, with carrots, broccoli, peppers, but dipping sauce had no flavor, $11. Service was cordial but meh, she fawned over another table and barely came over to us. She never followed up to ask how anything was. It was crazy disappointing, but the view was good, and hostess was friendly. We're not overly picky people, but this was just a bummer all around and way too much money for the quality. Won't be going back.
Excellent place for drinks and shareable menu! You can't beat the view!
Everything was great. All workers were wearing masks and customers were distanced properly. I was very pleased with service and food!
Fantastic ambience and overall great experience. It's a definite must for a Sunday brunch!
We came for Father's Day brunch. Everything was amazing from being seated to leaving. We will be back for sure!
Not too many choices for salads or children.
Overall, I'll come back again.
Lovely view of beautiful downtown, Lauren was an awesome server, was prompt and friendly. The food was good!
Entire experience was excellent. Up on the Roof never fails us.
Out of many menu items on the day I went. Drinks were a bit pricey and watered down. Food was pretty good but I’m not sure I’d go back. $50 for 2 drinks and 2 small plates is a bit high.
Great food with good variety of options. Service was fantastic.
The only reason I gave 1 star on the food is because we did not have anything to eat.. the menu did look amazing and can’t wait to try it next time.
Great for business meeting! We enjoyed everything
Great food, wonderful views! Can’t wait to visit again!
Excellent atmosphere and food. Brittany was a wonderful server... attentive and helpful. The music was a little loud. It was a beautiful night.
Great treat! Menu has been expanded and the tables and seating are appropriately spaced since my last lunch visit. This is a fabulous spot to enjoy the outdoors and the best views of Greenville in a shaded spot. The food selections include something for everybody. Flavors are bright and interesting. Presentation is lovely. Our waitress was friendly, attentive and professional. This was the pandemic-friendly meal out that I have been craving!
Came in for drinks, and had a reservation. When we got there, there was no one and the host/hostess stand, so we had to end up walking much further in to find someone to help us find our reservation.
They told us that technically we made our reservation for after their closing time, but that they would figure it out. They eventually found somewhere for us to sit, but it was directly under a speaker, so we couldn't hear anything the servers were saying (it didn't help that everyone had COVID masks on). It seemed like that was the only speaker they had there, so in order for it to be heard everywhere they had to crank up the volume, at the expense of whoever is sitting right under it. We eventually asked to move, which they accommodated with no problem. I was a bit frustrated with this whole situation because we had made the reservation beforehand as it was our anniversary, and we seemed to be a bit of a nuisance to the hostess and not valued customers.
The rooftop bar side of this place is AWESOME, and I was hoping to get a seat there, but they instead put us on the other side of the restaurant which when compared to its hip older sibling, seems like the neglected step child. There are few decorations, fewer amenities, and no full bar.
Overall it wasn't bad. The server was very nice, things were done in a timely manner, and the prices weren't cheap, but that was to be expected. I think if they made the neglected rooftop area better and work on some general staff organization, our experience would have bene much better.
The food and atmosphere were fantastic but our server was not friendly or attentive at all. It was like she forgot we were there and we probably waited 45 minutes for the check. Disappointing.. will probably come back but definantly will not be at the top of my list.
Beautiful view of the city; appetizers came out with our meal so that was interesting. Wondered why it was taking so long for them to come out... perhaps if the apps had come out earlier, I wouldn’t have noticed how long it took to get served?
We went here for Sunday lunch and had a disappointing experience. While the view and atmosphere were amazing, the service was so poor. It took 20 minutes for our server to even see our table and get our drink orders. Then we waited for 40 minutes just to get our drinks and see our waitress again (didn’t even place our food orders yet). My table all ordered the nachos. 20 minutes later we were informed that they didn’t have the beef to make the nachos and we would have to redo our order. It took TWENTY minutes for them to realize that they couldn’t even start our food. By now, we’ve been here for over an hour and a half. We switched to the burgers, and I asked if fries came with it. The waitress said I could get fries or a salad with it so I chose fries. However, when we got our bill, the fries are considered an additional side and an extra $4.50 (which makes the burger and fries a $20 meal). Now, on a positive note, the burger was good, albeit closer to well-done than the medium temperature that I ordered. Wanted to love this place, but I doubt that we’ll be back.
Enjoyed sitting outside, although there was no shade in our section. Food was good but a little pricey (rooftop views of downtown make it worth it), and the different flavored mimosas were good as well. Service was extremely slow, it took 3 hours to get food and a few drinks at noon on a Sunday.
I love it! I will back soon! Thank you! Only the dessert was a little slowly
Overall, a good experience. Service was slow but server was nice.
We absolutely love it! Highly recommend this restaurant! Food and service was great!
Food and atmosphere was great
It took about 15-20 minutes after our reservation time to get seated. We went for brunch, but they only have their dinner menu available right now. It wasn't a big deal, but would have been nice to know beforehand. Both our water glasses were not cleaned well. There was food debris and other mystery gunk on the inside of the glass. The service was rather slow, but the food was very good. The bottomless mimosas were a plus for sure! We enjoyed our visit and would go back again.
This place was amazing. I sat outside and the view was beautiful. The weather was perfect. I also enjoyed the service and food. I would definitely go back.
the food was great, good service and good ambience
Nice view, excellent service, great food.
Meeting my son’s girlfriend and her parents
We actually left as we were the ONLY party seated indoors yet not a single server approached our table. We were a party of 8 who waited 17 minutes with zero service. We got up & left. 3 different servers walked by our table, looked at us, went to computer to input their orders & walked by. Completely unacceptable. The ambiance is gorgeous, service has much to be desired.
Always eat here when in Greenville. Never disappoints
Beautiful view of the city and the small plate menu was innovative and excellent. Attentive service and good timing between table deliveries/courses. Will definitely be back next time we’re in Greenville.
Great views of Greenville and nice food. Of course the wine is way overpriced but that seems to be the norm in restaurants theses days.
Gorgeous setting and excellent service. Food a bit pricey but worth it for the view.
Need more menu items we had a family of five and most could not find an item they even wanted to try. Love the roof top but disappointed in the food
Awesome view/great service
Lateish night drinks on the first leap back into going out freedom. All was good. Food was not part of the experience.
