Everything was great and I’m happy to see a nice restaurant on this stretch of 101. My wife and I will be making this a regular dining location.
Great place and service was great. This will be a great new place as it matures.
vey good and well certainly be back. great menu and service to match
Awesome Restaurant! Excellent food... great service!
Great neighborhood restaurant. We’ve eaten here three times recently and, every time, the food was excellent (if a bit pricey). Be forewarned though: each time we’ve been here, no matter the hour, the restaurant has been filled with families with young children and infants, considerably raising the noise level. Surprising, since it’s not exactly a kid kind of restaurant. Try the meatballs and the chicken paillard, both delicious. The churros are pretty good, too.
This place is an adorable addition to leucadia. the food is scrumptious.
Man, that skirt steak is FANTASTIC! Hamachi crudo - top notch. Pulpo - great preparation. Fresh seabass with risotto also mild and fresh tasting. Loved the churros. Adorable wine list.
Nice date place.
I didn't love the techno music, but I am old- so take that with a grain of salt :)
Overall it was quite good. Somewhat noisy and busy but not horrible. The service was somewhat slow, but I believe it was the kitchen's fault not the waitress.. The appetizers were very good. My husband enjoyed the halibut entry however my salmon was somewhat dry but the broccolini was very tasty, The desert was great!
Service was slow and not knowledgeable about their wines or what they were serving
Loved it - everything from the space, to the service, and the especially the food! Tried the meatball, the pulpo, salad, mac & cheese, & cauliflower. Next time, will try the Pibil... and dessert!
Very loud music, hard to have a conversation. Limited menu, as if they’re not sure what type of restaurant they want to be. I thought overpriced for the quality of the food. Just wasn’t impressed, would not go back, or recommend.
The food was really plain. The food was cooked well it just needs more fresh herbs and spices. The service, ambiance, and wine was really great.
Table for 4? If you're playing bridge, maybe. Sea Bass? Nope, tasted like yellowtail overcooked. Crunchy uncooked rice in the side dish. Octopus? Pretty good. Muscles were great! I would return just for those.
Dinner was awesome! The spicy Caesar salad was delicious and the mussels were fresh. My husband order the steak and it was massive. I would definitely recommend :)
Awesome ambience, and very flavorful food! I would recommend to friends in a heart beat.
While the Local Crudo was just okay, my wife really loved the Ricotta Gnocchi with Mushrooms and I enjoyed the flavors of the the Chicken Palliard. We also loved how the Espresso Chocolate Cake served in a hot cast iron pan caramelized against the edges.
Nice shared plates. Mussels are delicious. Need a fan on a very warm evening.
Great cucumber salad-palm frites were amazing. Gnocchi was unmatched. One of the best pastas I’ve ever had. Will go back!!!! Many times!!!
Enjoyed the food. Service was great.
Gorgeous food in a casual setting. Everything tasted unbelievably fresh and delicious. A new favorite.
Great, innovative, unique food prepared to perfection. So happy to have Valentina in our “hood.”
Fantastic dining experience
Was excellent. The food was good. It was really busy and hip
Very nice little neighborhood restaurant. Food is good, atmosphere is lively and the owner and his wife are on hand to make sure everything is perfect. Would give it 5 stars, but the menu is a bit limited and the tables are a bit too close together. Parking is tight, so park across the train tracks and you shouldn't have any problems.
Food was good but strange little things bothered me there: the booth seats are too far from the table, they serve water (and wine!) in these short wide glasses and their “centerpieces” are lemons with a sticker. They also wouldn’t seat us outside stating they had reservations but nobody sat there entire time we were there.
We went there on a date which was perfect but I think any evening you want an excellent dinner with something new and fresh this is the perfect place.
The food was mostly good, interesting. It could have been greatly enhanced with knowledgeable and attentive service.
Overall, a good experience. Took my two boys to dinner Sunday night and sat in the patio. Comfortable seating and nice background music. We started with steamed mussels and octopus with potatoes. The mussels were nice sized and fresh but we found the broth to be watery. A small amount of bread was provided given the amount of broth that we could have enjoyed with extra bread. The octopus was flavorless and not charred on the outside as mentioned in the menu. This is the second time I have eaten here and both times, the octopus was disappointing. I had the sea bass and it was fine. The boys enjoyed their meal. We requested espresso and the server just brought us the bill without the coffees. She apologized and offered to place an order but I had already paid and was ready to go. Valentina has some rough edges to work out as a new restaurant but I think it's worth a try. The servers are very nice and it appears they are trying their best.
Delicious food in a beautifully designed room that has an easy vibe to it. The fish was very fresh, the vegetables excellent. We sat by a wall that had some ants crawling up it which doesn't bother me much but might not seem nice to other diners. We were also interested into charcuterie "surprise" board that was written up on the chalkboard with the cheeses of the day but were told by our server that only the manager can prepare that and the manager was not there that day. So no surprises for us!
The restaurant is beautiful and impressively modern and romantic. The food was ok, starters better than entrees. The short water/wine glasses were very impractical. The wine on the list was not great.
But the patio setting on a beautiful Leucadia night makes up for a lot.
Our reservations were for 7 but we got there early and we got sat right away.
The menu is short and sweet, but great.
Big wine and beer list.
All food was fresh and awesome, great appetizers. I had the days special seafood risotto. Really good.
Since it was our anniversary they gave us complementary dessert churros......so amazing
We loved everything about Valentina!
The starter "Beef Tartare on a Tostada" was tasteless, while the tostada taste was strong. The consistency of the Tartare ( which is supposed to be Freshly groundFilet mignon, was a pale tasteless goo. A Cucumber Salad consisted of Chunks of nearly ripe variations of Cucumber, the size of the chunks was enormous and imho rather unsuitable. The accompanying dressing was overwhelmingly strong.
The main courses Local Seabass not a single suggestion or offer was made to show that they were "sorry". Disappointing.
Great new restaurant in Leucadia! Valentina has a relaxed, neighborhood vibe - food, service, value all top notch. We'll make it a regular eating place.
Amazingly delicious food. Prices higher than posted on website. Wine served in regular glasses not stem.
Good spot for date night. Menu items are limited so maybe think of getting starters? Mussels are good but not all of them opened up. I'm surprised the manager didn't discount us for the discrepancy. The wine is good - no cocktails but wine list is sufficient. The space new so the service is still figuring out but still pretty nice. Overall would eat there again.
The food was fabulous. The mussels were a terrific appetizer, and they were happy to bring more bread for dipping in the sauce. I never order chicken at restaurants, but the chicken paillard was irresistible.
Food was amazing. Flavors and quality and freshness were high. Noise was loud, too much. Small tables. Too casual for the food being served.
It was fantastic . Our first trip. Highly recommend the Caesar!!!
Charming, interesting and different - a great addition to the North County San Diego dining scene!
We were really happy to see a new restaurant within walking distance of our house. Have eaten there three times. Twice in the last three weeks. On the second visit I got steak frites for $21.00 I ordered the steak medium rare and it came medium well. I sent it back and it came back medium rare. On our last visit a few nights ago they had changed the menu. The steak was now a ribeye for $34.00 . Not eating meat at home I opted for ribeye medium rare, again it came medium well. I returned it . The next time it came very rare. I could tell by touching it. I returned it again. By now my companions( who said their food was just okay) had finished their dinners. Now I can tell by touch when meat is rare, medium rare, medium etc. I have no faith left in their chef so we will not be back. Really sorry too because it is so close to us!
