Via Trenta Osteria & Wine Bar
Via Trenta Osteria & Wine Bar in Astoria is a memorable Italian experience. Both the cuisine and the atmosphere are classic Italian. Via Trenta Osteria & Wine Bar serves lunch, dinner and a weekend brunch.
The brunch offered by Via Trenta Osteria & Wine Bar is perfect for regenerating after a busy week. Relax with the overstuffed French toast with prosciutto cotto and fontina with a glass of bellini, prosecco, or a mimosa or Bloody Mary. The frittata choices are over the top as well with ingredients such as homemade mozzarella and wild mushrooms. At dinner, whether you choose the braised lamb shank, the boneless Pekin duck breast or something else, the experience will be memorable.
This was an amazing find during Covid. Great location with plenty of ventilation and wonderful heaters.
The staff was wonderful very attentive and appreciative all at the same time.
Food was phenomenal I would go back in a heartbeat!!
Went for a first date. We were rushed to order but after that the service was great. The food was outstanding. And for being outside in January it was very comfortable. I will definitely be back.
Covered outdoor seating was helpful in a rainy night. Windows were kept open and fans were on for ventilation. Staff were friendly and the service and food were good. The restaurant was playing songs from the 70s and 80s-many from movie soundtracks-which made for fun dinner conversation.
Food was delicious, service was great. Very clean and Covid conscious.
The service and the food couldn’t have been better. We will recommend this place and will continue to patronize it. It’s our favorite Italian restaurant. Their food and their service is always consistent. Thank you Via Trenta for making our evening an enjoyable one
Never disappointed with the food. Thrilled that during the pandemic they have been able to keep the quality and service that I always expect from them even though it is now outside. Enclosed, heated but still chilly because it is well ventilated (not a complaint better to be chilly and relatively safe).
Great service, food and reasonably priced Prix fixed menu- nice choices
This is my favorite restaurant in Astoria, hands down. The food, the service, the outside that they built so us New Yorkers can still enjoy a restaurant, they have knocked it out of the park. If you have not yet tried this place, you absolutely should. The artichoke appetizer, burrata with basil and or figs, the plain spaghetti with spicy tomato sauce....the basics have never tasted better.
Really outstanding new normal safe setup. Best I've seen in Astoria, and thru NYC really. Best choice for Christmas Eve dinner w the pod.
Arrived at restaurant and told them I have a reservation. The manager (maybe owner) did not ask my name. He took us to a two seater, but it was right next to another party of two. We hesitated and said asked if we could sit at another table. The guy said sure sit wherever you want. Given COVID and the fact that there were not other parties (4 empty tables of four), we moved to a 4 seater. After settling in, the waiter came over and said oh you can sit here for now, but if a party of four comes, you need to move. Noone was coming in and it was just unnecessary. If it was a problem, why did the manager say sit anywhere? This left a bad taste in my mouth from the start.
Squid ink pasta with seafood, pork chop, and beet salad were delicious. Beef carpaccio left something to be desired. The same dish as Maiella is much tastier.
As we were finishing up, the four seaters on both sides of our table filled up. I overheard the waiter informed the table behind us of the specials. They did not mention and specials to us at all. Differential treatment is unacceptable. I will not be returning.
Such a beautiful ambience and staff was very friendly
The owner made a huge fuss about having a laptop on my table. I had an emergency documents to send and phone was not an option. They are lucky I paid for the food and not walk out there.
NEVER coming back here or ordered food her. Been a good customer for years and brought people here. Feel sorry for the staff.
The food was great, staff were friendly & the food was great. I’ll be coming back one day.
Pasta was amazing, but the staff was even better! Will definitely return when I am flying into LGA.
My sister’s birthday
We decided to go despite the reviews.we should have listened! Food was BLAND. My linguini with clams In white wine taste like the water that the spaghetti was boiled In..
We asked for indoor & was still seated outdoors, social distancing was non existent. The prices of the dishes in comparison to the flavors are not up to par! I agree you could have gone anywhere in Manhattan & gotten better food.
Requested indoor dining yet got seated outside!
So clearly they do not honor a request.
Food was tasteless (braised lamb shank and rissotto )absolutely no flavor!
Was not seated 6FT apart even though we are trying to support local business during this pandemic.
Not sure I will give them a second chance.
Best Italian cuisine in Astoria!!!
The food and service was nice but I could not give it 5 stars because the waiter was sooooooo beyond aggravating. Every FIVE seconds he was back at the table asking questions. We couldn't at all enjoy our conversation, good and eschothers company. He tried to pack our food while I was still eatting and my partner was done. We were I a very deep conversation and the waiter interrupted is 5 times. I feel like if the customer isn't looking up or around, or is gazing into their partners eyes why would you come interrupt them? For that I can't go back. The food was AMAZING. But because we don't get to spend much out time together due to work and the pandemic when we do i need a place that respects customers space.
Great food, great ambiance! A bit noisy because it's on the corner but nothing out of the ordinary. Highly recommend!
We enjoyed lunch at Via Trenta on a Saturday. They offer their full menu. Pizzas are a bit pricey but very good. We also had a salad and pasta. I would recommend!
Our first experience was about a year ago, it was nothing special. So we figured, we should give the restaurant another chance, so a group of 4 went this weekend.
We had two pasta dishes, the veal dish and the seafood special.
They were all Tasteless. The seafood dish tasted old, I could finish it.
I won’t be giving the restaurant another chance. Sorry guys.
Food was nothing special. Overpriced and food was mediocre.
Loved it. LOVED it! The Artichoke appetizer is a revelation, and the Cacio e Pepe is perfect. Husband had the papperdelle with a filet mignon and porcicni ragu and it was unbelievably delicious. The menu is tantalizing, took us a bit of time to choose. Go here and eat here. You will be so happy you did. PS they make a killer good martini.
Food was INCREDIBLE!
Absolutely delicious food and wine, and the service is wonderful! The owner came over to ask how everything was, and was very genuine. My mother, who cooks is Italian and an amazing cook, said it was the best pasta dish she's ever eaten! Will DEFINITELY be returning!
My favorite Italian place in NYC
Me encanta excelente Restaurant
My wife and I came here for Valentine’s Day. They seemed to be a little overbooked but that’s to be expected on V-Day. While waiting, the owner brought us to a quieter area and gave us a free glass of wine. Once we were seated, the service was great and the food was tremendous as always!
Romantic evening with my wife
This was one terrific brunch. They have a wide variety of brunch items and $5 brunch cocktails, so you are not locked into an all you drink scenario but still wont go broke on a couple of cocktails. We ordered appetizers from the main menu and the Tuna Tartare was out of this world. We each had different brunch-food experiences I has a brunch pizza with egg and other items. Two people had fritatas with a salad, and they were great too (yes, I sampled). But the coffee -- to die for. Prix fixe and fabulous.
Service was ok... I asked for sauce for fish on the side and they did not dot that. When I sent it back they basically replated meal . I did not send back again . Also when we asked for tea instead of coffee they said we don’t have tea! We found that strange.
Fantastic service and top of the line food. Nice date place and they have a cool wine tasting thing going on in the back of the restaurant in a separate area.
Our whole family loved it! Menu was great from start to finish.
We went there to have dinner to celebrate a friend birthday, place, services and the food was pretty good. We had an excellent time there highly recommended.
Overall, great service and very good food. Just didn’t expect to spend nearly $200 for 2 people. Dinner and 1 bottle of $39 wine.
Lovely. Astoria. Via Trenta= 30 street. Carcioffini. Veal. On Christmas evening no less. Hope to be back next Christmas! Thank you!
Via Trenta was a very disappointing restaurant. I would not recommend this place to anyone for any occasion.
1. The food and wine are WILDLY overpriced. I have enjoyed better food in nice places in midtown Manhattan, Tribeca and Williamsburg at more reasonable prices than I paid at this Astoria “no tablecloth” restaurant.
2. Staff and management made a serious goof regarding accommodations for a disabled person in my party. One of my guests is an elder person who uses a walker. I messaged the restaurant a week in advance requesting a table that could be accessed without stairs. I repeated my request by telephone the day before the meal. I was assured that there would be no problem. When we arrived, my disabled guest had to climb steps to get to the table. This is inexcusable.
Don’t go to Via Trenta.
I wanted to be seated instead of having to wait at the bar for one more friend who was joining us for dinner. I would understand if it was crowded but it was empty and the manager or whoever the owner is told us to wait at the bar. 5 mins later my girlfriend shows up and we got a table then. Food was okay. Nothing spectacular. I didn't like how the manager or who seemed like the owner kept staring at us while we eat. Like I had no privacy to talk about anything private because he was all up on our faces. I didn't like the guy so I won't be back.
Went for my sisters birthday and as always the food and wait staff were outstanding. Thank you for making it a special night.
