We celebrated our 7th anniversary with Viv.
That’s what we call her now, “Viv,” the perfectly marvelous colloquialism for this delicious Cabaret.

Absolutely perfect, but then it always is. Every dish a hit with our party as were our cocktails and the exceptional wine list and recommendations. Staff is like a family, all outstanding. Our go-to place in Asheville!

One of the best meals of the year. We dined outside, and they are strict with COVID protocols which made us feel comfortable and grateful for the wait staff. It was remarkable and we applaud the whole team for delivering such an exceptional experience in these circumstances.

Vivian, our favorite restaurant in Asheville, lived up to our expectations of a celebratory New Year's Eve dinner. My husband and I started the evening with wine and cocktails while we shared the smoked oysters Rockefeller and the salad du saison, good choices considering the richness of the entrees to come. The flounder grenobloise was fresh and vibrant, and the tournedos Rossini was delicious and decadent, cooked to a perfect medium-rare. We shared a brandy and a slice of buttermilk cake before calling it a night. It was by far the best meal we had in 2020, even better than our previous meals at Vivian, which were excellent. The service was perfect, and the staff was extremely knowledgeable of everything on the menu.
The restaurant scene in Asheville is very competitive. But with so many great places to choose from, Vivian remains our go-to, even more so throughout the pandemic. They take safety protocols seriously, but it is never a sterile environment. We always feel safe and cozy at the same time. I cannot recommend Vivian highly enough.

Each course was amazing. We did a food and wine pairing and were favorably impressed by every course. Loved the beef tartare and deviled eggs!!

Came for brunch, food was amazing. Ambience was nice, and service was on point. Some minor quibbles here and there but all in all you won’t be disappointed.

Another amazing experience from the team at Vivian! The lobster parfait, lamb eggs benedict, and nordic deviled eggs were all phenomenal. We also really enjoyed our brunch cocktails! Service was quick and friendly, sanitation standards were high and all team members were engaged in creating a hospitable and safe environment for their guests. Thank you, Vivian, for giving a damn and continuing to create such wonderful experiences for your guests, even in the middle of this pandemic.

Everything was excellent, all of the COVID-19 safety precautions were greatly appreciated.

Beautiful restaurant that felt very cozy. The scallop quenelle appetizer was phenomenal and perfect for a cold night. Our entrees were also very good, but the time between the appetizer and entrees was a bit too long, especially considering that the restaurant was only at half capacity at most. Overall very good and would come back again.

We took a chance on this restaurant and are so glad we did! The food was outstanding. It was flavorful and imaginative. I would definitely return. We are happy we took a chance on this one! I hope they are able to make through Covid.

The entire staff was so friendly and accommodating. We had our dog with us and they treated her like a special guest. Our meals were amazing and our cocktails and wine paired perfectly with the entire experience. Will definitely be back on our next trip to Asheville!

We had Sunday brunch; lamb Benedict, eggs Florentine, quiche, shrimp kedgree, and the pan pancake for an appetizer. Each of us raved about our selections. The mimosas were large (not flutes) and only $6 each.
Ambiance, food, service, and cost equal a great brunch. My only regret was that, since we were visiting from Atlanta, we couldn't enjoy a dinner there.

Shannon has revised the wine list - I thought it was great before and now there are several new wines I'm excited to try!

We generally do the small or shared plates; this time we were both enticed by entrees and went in that direction - I had the Fruits de Mer - oh my Gosh! It really was so delicious - lots of shrimp, clams and mussels along with grouper 'meatballs' - served with wonderful crispy baguette and aioli - the broth was amazing! My partner had the grouper - beautifully done and served with veggie - he really enjoyed it. We shared a bread pudding - chocolate and so very good! I'm very partial to my mother's bread pudding and few come anywhere near matching hers - this one was right there!

everything was great, atmosphere, drinks, service etc. and it may have been just an off day for the chef because the dishes probably would have tasted great as they were original and thought out but all dishes, not just one were way to heavy on the salt. I mean loaded with salt which ruined any chance of the dishes tasting great.

The staff was very friendly. Food was good but didn’t warrant 4.5 stars.

Never disappoints!!

Celebrated my 50th birthday with friends this weekend. Began our meal with the deviled eggs (win the prize for best item!), farmer’s cheese dip and oysters. Continued to be dazzled by the Fruits de Mer and Grouper for entrees - delicious! Even though we were stuffed - had to celebrate with banana cream pie with a candle. Each dish was prepared to perfection. Definitely a treat for my taste buds!!

Our visit was great. We felt like we were dining pre-Covid. We sat outside under large heaters and were quite comfortable. The food was great. I had their fried chicken dinner and my wife had a rack of venison. The service was superb. We will definitely go back. Next time we might try to eat inside. Apparently they have a very effective air cleaning system, so it should be safe to eat inside. We have avoided eating out for months, so this was a real treat.
