Alongside our regular menu, we'll be offering a good ole’ fashioned fried chicken dinner! You get three cuts of chicken, two down home sides, and one big, buttery biscuits for $19! Make a reservation or just pop on in!
Half Off All Wine Bottles!
Enjoy half price on all our wine bottles every Wednesday at the restaurant!
Too loud, need more noise suppression. Food and service are good.
Best place we’ve ever eateb...anywhere...
So good! Supremely hospitable staff. Delicious brunch. Great music & ambiance too. We can’t wait to come back.
Very enjoyable meal. Wonderful drinks and rustic atmosphere.
Warm, cozy place to eat on a cold Friday night! Delicious food and cocktails with attentive service. My friend is gluten free and our waitress was helpful with menu suggestions.
Way too expensive for the quality of food. Extremely slow service. There are a lot of high end restaurants in Asheville that are way better than Vivian.
Wonderful dinner for two., enjoyable as always. We particularly enjoyed the vivnibs. Go and enjoy.
I love this place I have been enjoying the food since salt an smoke with Burial anytime I have friends or family in town this is where we go, it can be super busy but you still get the best service everyone is polite an is willing help anyone. I hope an pray that you guys stick around for years to come.
Love this place!!! Atmosphere and food are excellent. Great local restaurant.
Excellent modern French, good service, quirky and fun. Only complaint is serving shaved truffles with zero truffle taste. If they dont taste like truffles, omit them. Eggs with crab newburg terrific. Quenelle respectable.
Great brunch place!
Food was unique but for the price I was expecting more.
Service was okay, the hostess was very nice and quick but our server seemed very slow. We were going to order a dessert but we waited for 10 to 15 minutes and changed our minds.
Overall we had a good experience but not enough for us to return for dinner.
My girlfriend does want to come for brunch though.
The food was very good, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and we made a reservation but there is not a big wait if you don’t.
Second visit. The experience was perfect in October; and perfect again this visit.
The food is innovative and delicious, and the food quality and preparation are excellent. The smoked oysters are not to be missed.
Do not miss an opportunity to visit Vivian.
Wonderful service and delicious and inventive dishes!
Our latest evening at Vivan was for a wine dinner - it was really very very good!
Josiah outdid himself in the kitchen and Shannon is amazing with explaining how the dishes were conceived and executed - and how she, Josh and Mike discussed wine pairings.
I am not a huge beef eater, the last course was beautiful beef - great taste - too much! I had to 'cry uncle'!
Can't wait for the next meal at Vivian!
Hands down the most fabulous food I have eaten. French dinner. All 5 courses just stunning, each one equal to the next.
We thoroughly enjoyed a special wine dinner at Vivian. The food and wine pairings were excellent, and the food was delicious. Creating dishes that complement the wine and yet are interesting and tasty on their own requires a special level of skill, and Vivian has it.
Loved this place for brunch. The food was great and the service was lovely. I made a note of an allergy on my reservation and they had an altered menu for me when I got there!
First let me preface by saying it was Valentine’s Day and Not the best time to go out to dinner. The place was packed and very noisy. Our server was sweet, kind and helpful. There was nothing on the menu I was excited about ordering. The salad plates were so small, our lettuce kept falling off the plate. Our reservation was at 7:30 And many things were not available on the menu.
Wonderful devil eggs. Chicken was dry.
I will give this place another try on a different night.
We went there last year and was very impressed but not such last night
My wife and I only get out on a handful of true dates every year. Vivian was our Valentine's date. Vivian made it truly memorable and amazing! We were 20min late and the staff figured out how to get us seated and took care of us through the whole evening. We loved the presentation of the food and every bite was amazing. It's no wonder our friends have raved about Vivian to us. We will be back!
Best French meal I have had in the South. (and I've eaten many places)
Food was very good, but the menu is very limited. There are no vegetarian options. The seafood stew is made with chicken broth. Service was very good. Due to the limited menu, I would not go back.
All good for a one time visit. Not really a restaurant we would go back to repeatedly. The menu was OK but lacked enough plates to return to the restaurant for. Sorry!
There is a reason Vivian is rated the best restaurant for two years in a row in Asheville. All I can say is go.
The Nordic Deviled Eggs are amazing (and I don't even like deviled eggs). Next up was oysters followed by two of the restaurants favorites the Quenelle...a scallop biscuit with creamy lobster sauce (the French version of chicken and dumplings) and the Crab Omelet...a perfectly French omelet which was so light and fluffy covered in crab...it melted in your mouth. You would of thought my husband and I would stop there, but we simply couldn't get enough of Chef Josiah's food. My husband finished with the grapefruit curd tart and I with simple, yet, delicious homemade vanilla ice cream and butterscotch sauce. What a meal!
We met the chef and his wife/GM, Shannon. Their hospitality was warm and welcoming as was the rest of their staff. Great banter and you could tell they really love what they do.
Until next time!
My chicken pot pie was the perfect dinner after a day inside and out wandering around the Biltmore. And the charred grapefruit torte was the best dessert I've had in a long, long time. Perfection! I'd travel back to Asheville just to have it again.
Excellent meal and service!
Amazing brunch, great service and cool location.
We love it here! All around excellent.
Food was outstanding! Plates were beautiful. Wait staff was very attentive and on point. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Compliments to the chef and staff.
This is perfect food. The only thing this restaurant lacks is something chocolate on the dessert menu.
Restaurant is slightly loud. You would do well to add some rugs or more sound absorbing pads to the walls. Also the tables could use some flowers or other form of decoration. With that said, the rest of the atmosphere was pleasing. The staff was very nice and welcoming.
Vivian consistently delivers high quality food with excellent service. As frequent guests, we do appreciate the new items on the menu, as well. We also like the parking situation in this neighborhood. Go and enjoy.
Amazing. One of Our favorites!
Great little spot. Food always good, service on point, wine list is great, have been multiple times and always consistent. Great atmosphere also.
Great food. Great atmosphere. Awesome cocktails and go out of your way wait staff. Looking forward to the next visit!!!
I was at Vivian's two years ago and the food was excellent. This time I was very disappointed. My oyster appetizer was delicious but the mussels were not tasty and my fish was very mediocre. I'm sorry I cannot give Vivian's a better rating as I was really looking forward to having another meal there, but sadly, the restaurant has not maintained the same quality and tastiness of the meal I had previously been served.
Restaurant Week. Delicious and such a deal!
The food is outstanding as is the service and we would definitely go again but it is extremely noisy so I would ask for a table in the bar which usually has fewer seating options and therefore hopefully quiet enough to hear a conversation.
