A very nice outdoor dining experience with fire elements flanking the table.

I’ve always loved this place and it’s great to see them adapting during Covid. The outdoor patio is so cute.

I have visited this restaurant couple of times and I have never been disappointed.

Wakamono offers truly gracious service, beautiful decor, and a culinary adventure at every meal. Inventive cocktails start the meal on a high note.

Great sushi, as always, very good place. We keep coming back because it is a great place.

Made a reservation for 6 this past weekend and everyone was beyond impressed with the food and service. Drinks and sushi were outstanding. We will differently be back!

I found this place from a hibachi grill search. It was small and quiet with really good food. I would not recommend this place for kids though. I have really picky eaters and the substitution options were very limited.

Wakamono has been a staple of mine in Chicago. I glad to see it’s survived the COVID pandemic. Well worth the wait or just get a reservation now.

When we sat down, we knew the kitchen would be closing soon. The server stopped by and asked if we were ready and we asked for just another minute or two. She didn’t stop back until the kitchen was 10 minutes from closing. Sushi was very delicious and we really enjoyed it. Today, when I looked at my account, I noticed the server gave herself more of a tip than I wrote in on my receipt.

This is usually one of my all time faves but today something was off. The service was extremely slow and we ended up getting the majority of our food BEFORE the drinks came. I had to ask for more water for the table. Also we wanted to have more drinks after dinner but nobody gave us the time of day. They are lucky to be in the neighborhood where they will be busy no matter what, because lots of restaurants are fighting to stay open and customer service is VERY important.

It’s a tradition for us to dine here in late August. Our very good friend loves to celebrate his Bday here.

The entires dinner was very lovely. I love that they have plum wine.

Food was DELICIOUS. Loved the Happy Hour options (and HH cocktails!) The salmon egg rolls and the lobster sliders were ridiculously good and loved the outdoor dining availability, especially during covid times 😷

The food and sushi was amazing; very fresh and combination of ingredients in rolls were really good. The only issue would be that we ate inside, sitting next to window and sun was coming in and very hot. Could not move curtain to block sun.,

Don’t like being forced to wait at the bar area. To loud and bar-like and it gave me a headache.

Ordered several different things but nothing was stand out, and more than a few things were disappointing. The ribeye was some of the toughest meat I've ever tried to chew in my life. You can get the same caliber of food for much less elsewhere in the neighborhood. Service and ambience also didn't measure up to pricing.

Good food and great service in small neighborhood restaurant. The pork potstickers were delicious and the 2 seafood rolls were very good. Biggest downside is the noise level.

Perfect food, perfect service, best-lit bar in town attached with fabulous cocktails and decor. The quality has only gotten better with time at this Boystown mainstay.

Went here for an anniversary dinner with my boyfriend. We were greeted right when walking in and had an amazing dinning experience. The staff was attentive and helpful in choosing what to order.

This place is our go-to sushi. Delivery and dine-in always amazing quality and service. When you dine in, the ambiance is amazing. Our out of town guests always ask to come back!

Amazing sushi!! A neighborhood gem!!!

I've walked by at least 100 times and finally got a group together to go. The edamame was the best I've ever had, the sushi was solid, and the cocktails were pretty good! I asked for our party to be sat at a table with chairs instead of stools, but we were told the other table was reserved. I sat there for the whole meal looking at an empty table longing for back support lol. We also had a group of 5 and were charged a service fee.

Made reservation for one since I was visiting from out of town. Got to the restaurant, and was told I needed to sit at the bar, which directly faces the chefs making food and foot and a half away. I asked for a table since I had a reservation, and there were 7 open two top tables. They refused saying they were full. Two couples came in after without reservations and immediately seated. The food was good, but sharing the bar with the chef, hostess and waitstaff was a lot, especially since there were 5-7 open two tops the entire time I was there. Won’t be coming back that treats solo diners so poorly.

I love coming to Wakamono. The food is amazing and the service is almost always very good. My only complain would be the noise level, very very noisy.

We came here in hopes of finding a new dependable sushi restaurant in the area and ended up having a wonderful meal. Great decor and setting. Definitely a date hot-spot. The sushi came out pretty fast and was definitely fresh. A new fav!

Nice atmosphere, ok food. Not exceptional, too much sauce in the rolls and ok (not amazing) fish quality.

I live in the neighborhood and frequent Wakamono often. Love the ambiance and the Happy Hour specials. I miss the small soybean dish with sesame seeds. This was a staple for Wakamono, and separated them from all the other sushi places. BRING IT BACK. I know some people don't like it and the servers have to throw them away, but just add to your menu and say "upon request." Belle was very accomodating and friendly and very helpful. The sushi was fresh and tasty. Do not get rid of any more small touches (cucumber slices in water, hot towel for hands, etc.). Will always be a my go to place for sushi.

Wakamono is, hands down, one of the best restaurants in Lakeview. The sushi is great, the appetizers are incredible, and the drinks are strong and tasty.

We really like the sushi chefs here but the waitresses are terrible. They act very stuck up and they are very difficult to understand. They also marked me as a no-show for my reservation when we were definitely there.
