In pursuit of an agricultural educational experience for students of all ages, we provide a small venue fit for special life celebrations and everyday blessings. We are situated on an 85-acre farm, producing a variety of foods and wines, raising animals and honey, and growing herbs and flowers using techniques that protect the environment and help foster the development of healthy living.

Walker Homestead Farm & Winery serves plates at their peak, products that are perfectly ripe and prepared with simplicity in mind. We feature monthly farm dinners, classes and weekly opportunities to partake in what has been gleaned just prior. Please join us for a truly unique agricultural experience.

Come experience the many seasons of the Walker Homestead gardens. We do more than grow product so to make exceptionally great food and wine. During our garden tours, Farm Manager Ben Weber and Chef Bryan Bjorklund will walk you through the gardens, sharing where we are in the season, show how we support permaculture, taking the product from the field to the fork and how it pairs with the wine in hand. The tour will spread across three locations on the farm, with bites and paired wine at each location, ending in the tea garden where we can raise a toast to the setting of the sun on another lovely day on the Walker Homestead.

It was a wonderful dinner. There were five courses, each one delicious and unique. The atmosphere at Walker Homestead is outstanding. I highly recommend these dinners.

Great space. It was a rainy day but there was enough overhead cover to accommodate everyone! I do wish the lines to order food would go quicker/have maybe two ordering stations but other than that, everything was perfect. Great food, atmosphere, staff, etc. we will definitely be back! I also highly recommend the wine flight where you get to try 7 wines for $20 and they come in “shooter” type bottles to pour.

Great food, loved the chicken, and ribs, but they forgot our pizza order and we waited and waited and then had to reorder. Loved the chickens, turkeys, sheep and goats. Lots of things to do for young children.

Our son recommended going and we loved it. So serene and peaceful. An absolutely perfect temperature and lovely views over the grape vines and sunflowers. When we ordered we thought it would be a wait and we’re surprised how quickly our foods came. The eggplant was delicious and looked beautiful and the pizza was delicious as well. We could sit without feeling rushed and enjoyed it so much. The servers were so nice and we definitely said we would go back again.

Love this place, but sometimes they undercook their food. My lovely tomatillo pizza was really underdone. Took it home to finish cooking it. Happened with a frittata too on our first visit too. Great service, wonderful ambiance.

This was my 1st time going to Walker Homestead and by far this is the best Winery that I have gone to.. I loved everything about it.. I highly recommend it. The service was very good and they were all very friendly. I just wished they would be open on Saturdays too..

This was the first time we were at Walker Homestead for the Farmers Table, a summer’s bounty tasting menu. Each course was delicious and we also enjoyed the accompanying wines. The wines are all made by Walker Homestead and are quite good contrary to what you may have experienced before in Iowa wines. The barn was initially closed up and comfortably air conditioned. After the main courses, Kristy opened the doors and let the fresh air in and we all enjoyed the stunning sunset. Love the food, love the setting, love this place!

We went to Walker Homestead for a family gathering and were so delighted! The setting and ambience are absolutely bucolic with gorgeous vistas of the Iowa countryside. The buildings and grounds/gardens are beautiful, clean, and well-tended. Every one of the staff were friendly, polite and efficient. The food is fresh, creative and delicious and was enjoyed by our entire group - party of 9 - ages 8 to 92! Check it out on a Sunday afternoon for a uniquely wonderful experience just outside the city limits of Iowa City. You won’t be disappointed!

First impressions: Walker Homestead was the perfect place to celebrate Father’s Day- gorgeous landscape and gardens, incredibly delicious food and drinks, and the animals were fun to watch. Great place for kids or a romantic date. We will be back again soon!

Pizza and drinks were good, but service could be better. Food came out at different times (instead of all at once) and we waited an absurdly long time for the frittata. The view and location are excellent and are alone worth the visit!

The ambience was lovely. I wish that more non alcoholic beverage options had been available for a better price or maybe some incentives for the designated drivers, especially because the venue is out of town. I am so glad I packed vitamin water. It is ok to charge $3 for iced tea, but offer ice in the glass, a lemon wedge, and perhaps some mint to class it up. I was grateful that water was provided. The food was delicious, healthy, and fresh. This farm is a gem :)
