Lovely evening with the special Countylicious menu. Food and wine were great.
Wonderful dinner at Waupoose Restaurant!
My wife and I stayed at the ClaFeld House across the street from the Waupoose winery restaurant this past Saturday. We lucked out as that was the last day before it closed for the season. We chose from the countylicious menu. Everything from the cesar salad, smoked salmon, beef and lamb to the dessert was fabulous!
The service was excellent. We were very impressed with the COVID-19 protocols and how seriously they adhered to them.
We hope to stay at the house again this summer and will reserve for dinner at this restaurant once again for sure!

Everything was great. The host was friendly, attentive and was pleasant to chat with. The food was hot and delicious, while the lighting and music were at appropriate levels. The owner had a very fun and colourful face mask on and genuinely wanted us to have an excellent evening at his establishment.
Service and food excellent. Beautiful location overlooking the vineyard on Lake Ontario.
Excellent choices, quality and generous portion size. We had very attentive service in a lovely setting.
Wonderful food and service. Would certainly recommend and will definitely be back.
Enjoyed the food. Tables spaced well apart and felt comfortable eating there.
Love the fact that most of the ingredients for the meal came directly from the County.
Everything we ate was delicious. Highly recommend the bread pudding!
We'll be back.
2020 Countylicious dinner; first time there for dinner. Surprised at the simplicity of the ambience given the prices but the food and service were good.
We always look forward to going to Waupoos winery for dinner during Countylicious. We particularly like the less frenzied pace of the off season. Smoked salmon and Caesar salad were excellent, I had the pickerel which was good and my husband had the steak which was cooked perfectly. We both enjoyed our desserts (creme brûlée’s and bread pudding) immensely. We were happy with our wine choice although we would have preferred a larger selection. Service started off a little slow but made up for it as the evening went on. Would definitely recommend! Bring your mask and wear it whenever staff approach your table.
The staff was lovely and the meal was delicious. All COVID safety precautions were carefully taken.
Great setting and delicious food. Dinner menu was a bit pricey but well worth it for the quality.
Perhaps the experience would have been better had it not been during pandemic measures. We were cold, as the door was left open. It was frustrating to see a couple seated in the inner circle, in warmth and luxurious chairs, while the rest of us ate in the outer circle. The food may have been delicious but it had been over salted.
There was absolutely no ambiance in this restaurant. Fluorescent lights were on and the waiter’s covid mask was Halloween themed with a scary bloody clown smiling on it! Very unprofessional and unsettling for what was supposed to be a finer dining experience at a winery. There were also buckets full of dirt and unpotted plants right behind our table as if we were dining in a greenhouse. The food was okay but the real issue was the total lack of ambiance.
Our server was great and we feel special beings checked in from time to time even by the chef to ensure we have a perfect thanksgiving dinner.
Great service and wonderful place to bring the family.
Ribs were not cooked to perfection.
A bit disappointed.
Cold in the restaurant.
Covid precautions were very well respected.
Would not return.
They need to light the walkway from restaurant to parking!
It was pitch black!
Ordered a steak with a side poutine. They served my steak on top of the poutine. Ordered a bottle of wine and they gave us plastic cups. Also served me a warm cider. Apologized for the temperature of the cider and offered me ice for it. It took over an hour for the table beside me to get their food as-well.
I ate there in the past and had a great experience and time but this time I spent 120$ and really came out feeling like it wasn’t worth it.
The best way to describe this restaurant is "meh". The food is passable, but not exquisite, if you are thinking you are going to a winery in Niagara, where the restaurants are great, it is not.
Started off with the caprese salad and poutine, salad was good, poutine they used processed gravy, unfortunately they do not make their own...salad was a 4 out of 5 poutine was a 3 out of 5
I had the chicken, skin was rubbery, not crispy, polenta was good. my date had the ribs with fries which was reminiscent of a chain restaurant that sells side ribs, both were a generous 3 out of 5
It is a winery and they have barrels of fermenting things inside the restaurant which would account for the sour smell that you get a whiff of every once in a while.
We were greeted by a rude host, no water was served. Beer was warm without carbonation and waitress offered us ice cubes to go with it. We waited 85 minutes for sandwiches and when we asked why, the staff answered that they were focusing on making steaks and chicken off the "after 4p" dinner items. Food was not terrible once we got it but if you are looking for elevated food synonym of eating at a winery then this is 100% not it. Expect overpriced pub food with little taste and poor service that is becoming increasingly a trend in Prince Edward County. If you thought they did not like tourists before COVID-19, you have seen nothing yet.
The restaurant is a cool concept. But... It was cold, had a very strong garbage smell (the lake?) and flies! For our anniversary with a request for a window seat we were seated at the back next to a storage area.
It is definitely a casual and energetic fun place to grab a burger
Good food but unwelcoming attitude from the Manager (?) front of house staff. Wouldn’t go back or recommend.
First of all, the property alone is stunning. You are in the vineyard in a circular restaurant. Our weather was chilly and we could not sit outside, but they made sure to allow us to have an excellent view of the water. Our server was super bubbly and friendly and had no problem telling us the specials and recommendations. We had the smoked salmon plate to start and it was DELICIOUS. After for our main course we had the 28 aged prime rib and to say delicious, was an understatement.....it was UNREAL! The food melted in our mouths.
It was a super nice treat and we would DEFINITELY go back. One of the nicest meals we have had in ages!
Enjoyed our time at Waypoos restaurant. Service was very good.
I was a little bit skeptical after reading the reviews of this restaurant, but oh my goodness they were wrong.
The location is absolutely breathtaking and the food was delicious. When you book in a location like this I often think I am paying for the view but this time I was wrong because the food was fantastic.
I would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the county it was fabulous.
Beautiful as always. Unfortunately it was chilly for eating outside but had to be that way to keep everyone safe during this pandemic.
Food is not great, not fans of the wine, setting is gorgeous, good place to hang out. Order beers & walk around the property. Beautiful at sunset.
Great wines, oldest Winery in Prince Edward County, the food is locally sourced, so no lobster, but everything is great. I suggest reservations!
Staff and ambience compliance with Covid19 was excellent. However, the indoor dining room "stunk" something awful as they were either pickling something or fermenting something in these huge blue vats at the back of the dining room. The food, a half rack of St. Louis ribs, and the steak that we ordered were "ok" ribs were tender, but after a couple of them, I tired of the flavour. The french fries came with both orders and they were great. The most disappointing part was the recommendation to buy a bottle of their House Red. Not at all what we were hoping for and for $75+ per bottle, I wish we had asked how much it was. A taste of the wine would have been a better option. Such a lovely location, and I know it has been a highlight of the area, but sadly, Covid or not, the main dishes were disappointing. We didn't stay at the Inn, we only went for dinner. Wishing them all the best, but we likely will not return if we are in the area.
Upon arrival, the 3 waitstaffs at reception were rude to us. I told them that we made a reservation by OpenTable and she insisted that I was wrong or confused with another restaurant. When I showed her my OpenTable email confirmation she rolled her eyes and said it wasn’t meant to be able to allow us to book. So why is that our fault? No “Hello and Welcome”. That is not how you greet guests coming in to dine.
There were plenty of seating at 11:30am anyways but they kept us standing there for first 3 minutes arguing with us. My husband finally said, “we are here for my birthday lunch, do you have room for us (2 of us) - even if we weren’t suppose to be able to book through OpenTable?”
Then we were shown to a table. No smile or a welcoming feeling to explain or highlight the menu.
The red wine by husband ordered tasted “off” so we asked our waitress what kind of red wine was it? She replied: “it’s the wine we produce onsite here.” Duh?! We knew that. But it didn’t taste like what we ordered. Then she said they didn’t have the one he ordered so they substituted for a baco noir. Well, it would be nice if they said they when she brought the drinks out or mentioned that when we first asked about the wine.
Food was unremarkable for the prices they charged.
The table next to us finished their meal while we were beginning ours and the girls clearing their table were so loud piling on the plates and the cutlery sounds. Hardly a nice atmosphere for a relaxing winey lunch.
There was absolutely no mention to say “Happy Birthday” to my husband or even offer of dessert even though we mentioned we were here to celebrate his Birthday.
What a waste of our time and an unenjoyable lunch.
They need better staff training and change the menu prices to reflect the quality of the food served.
We made a reservation, were seated and then ignored for 30 minutes. We were so disgusted with the service we left. When we tried to address the issue with someone who represented herself as management, she essentially called us liars and said the restaurant doesn't take reservations. Save yourself the frustration and find another restaurant, this one is not worth your time.
Great place.
Service was poor! Waitress was uninformed with menu and wine. For a winery the wines selection was terrible. 2 White Chardonnay with description and the red was listed as Red Wine no description. Food was awful we ordered the platter of chicken and ribs to share, both were terrible!! Ribs were back ribs under cooked and tough, chicken too spicy, veg was dry over cooked!
Never suggesting this place and won’t go back!
Locatiom is one of the nicest on the lake. The staff were very great when a thunder storm came and we moved to a open tent on the grounds to habe our appi and wine.
The only thing that was disappointing was the use of plastic cups instead of wine glasses. They said due to covid however other restaurants in the region using real glasses.
A lovely outdoor spot, beside the vineyard with a view to the lake. We took a nice stroll through the grounds after dinner. Attentive service and solid fare, if a little expensive.
A fantastic outdoor patio with a fantastic menu that will include something for everyone. Their chef’s specials are fantastic, the pasta I had was 👌🏻
Service was fast and friendly. Food was delicious. We had the smoked salmon app, smoked ribs and turkey sandwich. I would recommend it all. The setting is lovely.
Great spot to go. Service was friendly but slow.
All the food we ordered was very tasty. We also had beer and wine, which were great as well. The pickerel dish was very good, but the portion was a little on the smaller side. The grilled fresh zucchini was the best I've ever tasted. Server was attentive and the ambiance was very relaxing.
Beautiful setting - we really enjoyed a very tasty Sunday brunch with our family overlooking the lake on a bright, sunny day!
Perfect!!!
