West End Bar & Kitchen

Went with a party of 7. Nice atmosphere-fairly quiet. Started with the mussels which had such a strong aroma it kind of spoiled the rest of the meal. My guess is that they were just a little old and definitely overdone. The cioppino unfortunately also had the mussels in it, but was okay otherwise.
Great crab cake sandwich - the brioche buns are nice! The crab cake is moist and delicious. Good cappuccino too! My friend enjoyed her HUGE burger, she couldn't finish because she kept eating the crisp warm fries that came with it. All in all a nice lunch - we'll go for dinner next time.
First time dining there. Food was superior. I had more than enough to take home fir a second dinner.
Great food... most of my party wasn’t as adventurous as the menu. My boss wanted to order from the kids menu. I thought the food was good. A little pricey but very good.
Nice location and decent food, but expensive and not many vegetarian/vegan options. Service good, however, server forgot to use our Groupon on the bill and we had to have the charge reversed, then re-charged. Would go back for happy hour and apps.
Was not sure what to expect when I made reservation. Am a foodie so I tend to appreciate great care in preparation of my food. The service was good but we went early. The food was delicious and generous portions. The menu versatile and anyone can find something to eat. The traffic noise bothered me at first but after an hour, it died down. The skyline was amazing with hues of sunset. Definitely will go back ... maybe lunch next.
Great staff and the food was delicious. The place was really neat and I would go back!
Shhhh.... don’t tell anybody that this place is great.
This local restaurant consistently provides good food and adequate portions. Although the menu is fairly limited, almost everything we have tried has been quite good. We wish that they would change their menu quarterly so more new items would be available since we visit about 4-6 times per year.
Good food and great location for a neighbor hood feel yet upscale and comfortable at the same time.
Excellent place. Don’t tell anybody because I don’t want it to be so popular that I cannot get in.
Liked it! Will be back!
Good food, nice view. Parking is very tight.
Poor food- disappointed- not very tasty- both entrees- the lamb meatloaf & “crisp duck” were very so so.. Also, the entrees were both served cold- we had to send back- when they later arrived- were still not very hot- just lukewarm. Luckily we used a Groupon- even still- would not return. The main plus of this restaurant is the location & ambience. Service was “ok”.
Great spot for dining. Nice views of the lagoon from all most everywhere. Friendly courteous service. A large screen TV to watch the hit sports event of the day.
We enjoyed the food, service and ambiance. We will definitely return.
Nice ambiance, service great...attentive and friendly
All of us loved the dishes we ordered!!
Food was excellent, but service was very slow.
Cool beachfront location. Good vibe, with an interesting menu - lots of choices for both food and wine. We both really enjoyed our meals. Service was attentive but not annoying. Restaurant was busy when we walked in but cleared out as tables finished up. All around, it was a very enjoyable evening1
Great food as always! I had the pork and my wife the sea bass and both were fantastic. Great portion size for the price. We will continue to return to the West End. And the wine was also a great value.
Will definitely return next time I am in town!
Food and service were great. The dates and clam chowder were excellent. The Duck was cooked to perfection, so was the veal shank. My only complaint was the Halibut, it was fresh and cooked well, just over seasoned. Honestly it was probably seasoned perfectly on its own but with the addition of the sauce, olives and capers it sent it over the top. This wasn’t a deal breaker just thought I would mention it. I will definitely be coming back.
Great food and service. The best crispy duck ever.
My only issue was the absolute heat, no AC., No fans. Until the sun went down, it was a sauna on the patio, inside was not much better. Get a few fans, or I would say to not arrive until after sunset on hot days. The service was great, the food delish, they accommodated a few requests nicely. We will go again, in November -April.
We started with two cups of New England clam chowder, which was very creamy yet excellent tasting and not heavy. The soup servings were quite generous. Our entrees were the Angus beef short rib stew and veal ossobuco ravioli, which were both very rich, excellent, and generous in size. Frankly the stew was large enough to satisfy both of us. While nothing to complain about regarding the food and service, a slamming door to the outside eating area was at times overwhelming. Given the diversity of the menu, we will be back seated as far as possible away from the offending door.
West End did not live up to its past on this visit. Our food was not completely prepared properly and the kitchen was having issues because there was a problem at both tables on either side of us with overcooked food! In our case the kitchen did not add the Blood Orange reduction to the Duck entree, and they did not add something to the Short Rib Stew because the sauce was thin and watery, not thick and creamy as in prior visits.
The recipes are great but the preparation definitely needs some improvement to be as good as it used to be!
Excellent service. Mussels were delicious!
Food was great. Our server was extremely helpful in selecting our entrees. He also answered questions about the area and other places to go. We would definitely go back and highly recommend the West End
The 3 of us cannot say enough about the delicious food and fantastic service. Our waiter was very informative about the options, never rushed us, drinks/appetizer/meals were brought out timely. I loved that the person who brought out the meals actually KNEW who ordered what! And it was quiet enough that we had a nice conversation with the young family at the next table, vacationing from Chicago. Will definitely go back!
Nice cozy place but way overpriced for the quality of the food. I had a salad with grilled chicken and 2 glasses of wine - for $55.00! The salad was standard, nothing exceptional. Service was good. I will not return.
Had a very good experience, great food, but if you don’t like seafood there are very few options
Food was absolutely delicious. Service was warm and friendly. Will definitely return and reccomend to friends.
What a pleasant surprise. The food was superb, and reasonable. Service was fast, courteous, and pleasant. The Brussel Sprout appetizer was excellent. We had the Halibut special and the lamb meatloaf and it could have not been better. Parking is available in the back. Scenery is excellent. This place cannot be beat.
A very nice dinning experience. Had a nice meal with old friends without distractions or noise to interrupt our conversation.
Our friends took us for dinner for our birthdays. We've never been. We will be back! Loved the variety on the menu and each and every dish we had was wonderful.
I still miss Iris at this location, but will come back.
We were so disappointed! Waitress brought the wrong order, shrimp dish was way too spicy( and we asked ahead of time and she said it wasn’t spicy) sent it back and still got charged for it! Drinks were good but the bartender was too slow! Pork dish was not cooked all the way! It was Fathers Day and they offered nothing special for Dad’s! When it was call d Iris; we loved it! Please guys get your act together now!
Great neighborhood restaurant with tasty food and great service!
First time there. Very impressed. Food was delicious! Great neighborhood find!
