West End Bar & Kitchen
What a pleasant surprise. The food was superb, and reasonable. Service was fast, courteous, and pleasant. The Brussel Sprout appetizer was excellent. We had the Halibut special and the lamb meatloaf and it could have not been better. Parking is available in the back. Scenery is excellent. This place cannot be beat.
A very nice dinning experience. Had a nice meal with old friends without distractions or noise to interrupt our conversation.
Our friends took us for dinner for our birthdays. We've never been. We will be back! Loved the variety on the menu and each and every dish we had was wonderful.
I still miss Iris at this location, but will come back.
We were so disappointed! Waitress brought the wrong order, shrimp dish was way too spicy( and we asked ahead of time and she said it wasn’t spicy) sent it back and still got charged for it! Drinks were good but the bartender was too slow! Pork dish was not cooked all the way! It was Fathers Day and they offered nothing special for Dad’s! When it was call d Iris; we loved it! Please guys get your act together now!
Great neighborhood restaurant with tasty food and great service!
First time there. Very impressed. Food was delicious! Great neighborhood find!
Menu sounded amazing but the food was uninspiring.
Maybe a bad day, willing to give it a second chance.
Beautiful restaurant, amazing service and delicious food.
Great service with ok food.
A wonderful local restaurant that surprised us with the quality, taste and presentation of the food. Our meals were delicious and we will definitely return.
We miss Iris but happy to have a great meal and exceptional service at West End. Thank you!
Service was great, food was delicious. Only complaint was the portion of salmon was very small for the amount of salad.
Consistent service, delicious food with healthy offerings. At the top of their game from start to finish.
Fabulous views, ambiance and seating options
Very good food-salmon was good once the cook made it the way I ordered it-too bad he thought medium rare was well done. Other entree-the chippino was very good. Nice setting. Hope place is successful.
Fantastic neighborhood bistro. Elegant menu, very fine service and delicious offerings
Was a good meal and service was good. Only complaint was the tables are kinda small and close to other tables on the patio...
The food, specifically the clam chowder, is amazing. The atmosphere is nice and the servers were very friendly. Only downside is the patio can be quite loud if it is busy.
Very good service, excellent crab salad and cheese burger.
Easter Sunday, but no breakfast/brunch — just the straight lunch menu — was a little disappointing. Food was decent but not amazing. Good service.
The service and atmosphere was good but the food was mediocre at best. The fish special was very dry. I had high hopes for the lamb meatloaf, but it was disappointing and not very flavorful. The caprese salad and soup special were very good.
Lots of good vibes. They have updated the restaurant which makes it bright and happy.
The food was served hot and as we ordered and was tasty. The Brussels sprout appetizer was very good, as was the special fish of the day.
We will return.
Waiter was fabulous. He worked very hard to put in specific request so I could stay on my diet. Great food choices. Loved indoor decor. Sat on patio which we enjoyed. If there was one downside it would be that the road was next to the patio. A little distracting. Would definitely go there again
Our server was fabulous. This is the second time the same server has waited on me, and both times he has been helpful, friendly and professional.
I will be back. I really enjoyed the experience and find that West End culled the best from Iris and improved upon it!
We arrived with our reservation before sunset and the entire patio was seating with sun in your eyes. Rather than investing in nice blinds they put a napkin draped over the plastic which did not fully block the sun. When we complained at first they did nothing but try to adjust the napkin (pretty tacky) and then we got up to look for a table inside. At first they said they had nothing but after our insistence they sat us in a corner. Food was mediocre at best. The branzino was covered with pesto so you couldn't really taste the fish. I would not go back
Service is an issue. Asked for bread three different times and stopped three different people before getting it.
We were happy to find this new restaurant that is on our Passport dining program, and has delicious food! Everything we ate was wonderful! This included the duck potstickers appetizer, the pork tenderloin dinner and the duck confit dinner. The only negative is that the service was extremely slow.
Pretty pricey place, my lamb shank was good but risotto was a lump of cheesy brown rice ... not risotto. Nice decor but food needs to be worth the price imo.
Excellent food and great service. Will definitely return here.
The food was excellent. All four of us ordered different entrees and we were all extremely happy with the food. Very reasonably priced wine menu. Great service even though they were very busy. I would say this is a great place to get together with friends.
We have been coming to the West End/Iris for four years and it’s become a total disappointment. The food was terrible and we would never go back.
Excellent service and food for dinner. Nice wine list.
Looked over the Happy Hour menu. Nice but too many pork dishes. Only a few options without pork.
Enjoyed the new look and feel of West End. The food and service were good.
Our waiter Brad, was a delight. He was prompt, courteous and answered all of my questions in a timely manner. My dinner was good, but could have been a little hotter, however, my Manhattan was delicious! My friend was pleased with her dinner.
Wonderful, tasty food, great view of the sunset at Torrey Pines. The server forgot what we ordered a couple of times and took a very long time to bring us the dessert menu. It was a busy night though, so that could've been the reason. Overall a wonderful little place to enjoy great food in a great atmosphere and avoid crowds and crazy parking.
Restaurant has potential. Nice remodel happening and nice atmosphere for a dinner with friends. Food was ok but nothing special. Hoping for improvement down the road.
I LOVED THE VIEW AND AMBIENCE AND WE ENJOYED 2 OUT 3 OF OUR ENTREES AND 2 OUIOF 2 OF 3 OF OUR APPETIZERS. THE GOAT CHEESE CROSTINI BREAD SEEMED STALE- AND THE SHRIMP ENTREE WAS TOO SPICY. THE SERVERS DID NOT CLEAR THE APPETIZER PLATES BEFORE THEY STARTED SERVING THE ENTREES WHICH WAS STRANGE -THE RESTAURANT WAS BUSY THOUGH WITH NOT ENOUGH STAFF. THE KALE PASTA WAS SIMPLE BUT VERY GOOD.
Our food were great...I had the spicy shrimp, it was a little too spicy for me. The service was slow
Well prepared comfort food. Good cocktails.
