Westerns Laundry is a Micheling Bib Gourmand restaurant focusing on seafood & natural wines. The restaurant is located in the Islington/Highbury neighbourhood of North London. It opened in 2018 and is housed in a 1950's industrial building which used to be home to the largest commercial launderette in North London. It now boasts a beautiful 60 cover dining room, which opens onto an open 20 cover cobbled courtyard with olive trees as well as an intimate private dining room. Westerns Laundry has won numerous awards for excellence and originality and is a firm favorite on the London dining scene

    Tutto Wines and Westerns Laundry: An Evening in the Veneto with Alex della Vecchia On the evening of Sunday 29th of January we will be welcoming winemaker Alex della Vecchia to London for a dinner at Westerns Laundry celebrating the region he calls home, the Veneto. One of the most talented and prolific growers in Italy, in the shadow of the Dolomites Alex makes pure, nourishing wines that cover a wide array of styles and possess a wonderful sense of place. On the night, we’ll be delving deep into the region’s classics with a menu that focusses on the best seafood the fishermen have brought in, alongside the likes of baccalà mantecato, sarde in saor, risotto nero and pappardelle with duck ragu.

    Great food, the menu was different enough to ask questions but not overwhelming. Service was friendly but casual, we never felt rushed. Pricey but big portion sizes to compensate.

    Local gem with farm to table cooking. Most if not all guests are seated together at common tables. Some people visit, some keep to their space and themselves!

    Pretty unique dishes and the menu changes daily. I have been going back for multiple times with friends and the menu is always different. The fish dishes are usually outstanding. Panisse is my new find/favorite. Pretty good vibe in general for gathering with friend(s) or a date night.

    Love the food quality here and the wonderful atmosphere- lots of vegetarian and fish centric options. Only wish they had more reasonably priced wine, but absolutely love this wonderful restaurant.

    Amazing food, lovely venue especially at this time of year super cosy. Love the seating arrangements perfect for a date night. Food stunning although the Venison was a bit salty last night.

    Fabulous food, excellent helpful service, lovely atmosphere. Great place for a family birthday dinner, with lots of delicious sharing plates. Lovely wine, which is a bit overpriced. A lovely night to remember.

    Lovely meal with attentive service. Wine list is on the expensive side - I'd have preferred to have had a couple of cheaper options. Other than that - no complaints. I'd definitely go again.

    Every bite was delicious and the ambiance is perfect. Dimly lit and charming with great background music. It was quite busy but we could still easily hear each other talking. The Rillette Basquaise was a star dish and the Onglet with roast duck fat potatoes was cooked to perfection. Our group of three shared five dishes (one small, one medium and three large) and also had two desserts. It was the perfect amount of food. We'll definitely be back!

    Great neighbourhood restaurant. We went straight with what the chef recommended and left absolutely happy (and full). The flavors were all so balanced, in every single dish. Looking forward to returning soon!

    I have been recommended Western Laundry so many times and had been keen to try for my birthday night out with friends. Was not that keen on having to share a table - didn't know until we arrived.. The food was delicious and beautifully cooked and the service good too. We ordered lots of small plates - they were all very small though and with some costing around £25 we felt it was very expensive and we were still a bit hungry. It was difficult to chat over the noise too and so did not stay after our meal so felt we were in and out quite quickly. I suppose it depends on what you want on a night out.

    Excellent food, a crazy expensive wine list and inappropriate service for a place of that statue: I didn’t feel as a valued customer, they rushed me to order, gave me the bill 20 minutes before the next customer was supposed to come and it was just not at all special. It’s a shame.

    Really lovely restaurant. Cool setting, lovely ambience, a lovely neighbourhood spot off the beaten track that you genuinely wouldn't know existed. I've lived in London for 11 years and I'd never heard of Drayton Park as an area before, despite it being super close to lots of stuff I did know. Low lighting, candles and a real buzzy atmosphere in this place. Service was friendly, very efficient but not at all in your face. Plenty of information given about each dish if you asked for it. The menu changes almost daily so to get an idea of what you might be eating their insta is the place to go. We enjoyed radicchio and onion tart, leeks with tromopettes, plaice with herb butter, grated brussell sprout and fondant potato and pheasant with port and sage. All delicious! Washed down with very affordable and quaffable house wine. No room for dessert! Go here for somewhere different that none of your mates will have heard of. You won't be disappointed.

    I like this restaurant. It is a bit quirky in a nice way. It is pretty dark with small tea lights on the table especially in the communal tables down the centre. I thought the food was very tasty generally but my pasta was slightly undercooked. The wines by the glass and carafe offer a good range and unlike most restaurants there is no hidden mark up by having a glass or carafe compared to the equivalent bottle price - high commendation for that. Service was attentive and charming

    Cannot recommend highly enough. The staff are truly excellent and make the experience so special. The food is obviously made by people who really care about it - delicious and inventive. Thank you for such a wonderful evening it totally surpassed all expectations. Will be recommending to everyone!
