Lunch was very nice. Prices are a bit high, but food was very good.
We were a party of 6 and had reservations for 2:30 pm we were not seated till almost 3 pm. Once we were seated we were given menus and we sat there waiting for a server to come to our table for over 10 minutes. I had to go find a server to see what the issue was. The manager came and filled our glasses with water only to leave again for another 10 minutes. Once we ordered It took our meals almost 1 hour to come out. I can’t understand how omelets can take that long. I have been going to The White Dog in Wayne for many years - it has been good over all- but today’s experience has left us disappointed in the service and management.
We have been going to White Dog Wayne consistently since it opened. The atmosphere and food are always enjoyable. This visit our service was especially good. Our server, Lindsay, was attentive but not overly so. She anticipated our needs and let us enjoy our meal. A pleasurable visit.
My fathers dinner didn’t come out until the rest of us were finished. He ordered the swordfish it was terrible, full of cartilage. The server told him that they had to replate it that’s why it took so long. I think they should have just been honest and said the swordfish looks bad today we recommend trying something else. The server didn’t seem to care. They offered him something else from the menu he ordered the short ribs. They were also horrible. They gave him a $30 gift card but he lives in Florida. He said he would NEVER go back anyway. It is a shame because I recommended the White Dog because I thought my father would love it. Well needless to say he did not.
Staff was courteous
The meal was very good
The environment was appropriate
We were treated to a wonderful anniversary dinner. We were seated in a very nice table and were served by Alex who was very attentive.
Great restaurant. Food was very good and the server was great.
Spent a fabulous afternoon catching up with an old college friend enjoying a delicious lunch.
Most delicious tuna melt I have EVER had--capers and cheese. Best Kennett Square mushroom soup. The real deal.
I've been to the White Dog many times so clearly it's a favorite restaurant for me. On this occasion, everything was the usual excellent. I had the day's Special, crab cake sliders. Nice surprise! One can't go wrong at the White Dog.
We always enjoy going to the White Dog Café! They're food is delicious and the service is amazing.
White Dog has very good food but is extremely expensive. Our friend got the scallop special which was ok but it was 5 scallops for $37. That is extremely overpriced. I would recommend the restaurant to people I know who have the $$ to spend at this place.
Great late lunch with my daughter while we were in Wayne for her hair appt. We had only wver been to the location in Ardmore and therefore knew the food would be delicious. The burger and the turkey blt were amazing! As was the mud pie...also love the patio and the entire decor of the restaurant.
Great brunch in all ways. Love this place!!
Very cute brunch place and great service
A great restaurant to have Brunch when visiting Wayne.
Dinner with college roommate
I haven’t been to the White Dog in months but had a gift card which I wanted to use. What a pleasant surprise! I knew they had a mid-day menu in the late afternoon but was unaware of the happy hour menu. Oysters 6 for $6, a fabulous burger & truffle fries, $5 wine & draft beer & $18 bottles of wine. We had a table in a quiet corner of the bar and really enjoyed ourselves. We’ll be back!
We had to wait over 10 minutes after our reservation time to be seated and then we were seated in the bar area.
Our waiter did not tell us about specials. First courses came out in good time but the main course was slow. I had the stuffed shells and the shells were hard at the ends. They must have been sitting under heat lamps for a long time.
I was looking for a restaurant with good food and a pleasant "rustic" atmosphere and found this restaurant. When we came to the restaurant my wife reminded me that we had been here 5-6 years ago and liked it, and I then remembered we had been there with my daughter's father-in-law and had enjoyed the lunch very much.
And we did so this time too. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming with furniture and decorations made from used materials and furniture, old bird cages as lamp shades as an example. The food is to a large extent locally purchased from farms within a 50 mile radius, and organically grown as much as possible. As you are seated, you feel very welcome.
I started with West Coast oysters (obviously not locally purveyed), and my wife had the Kennett Square Mushroom Soup . Both dishes very delicious. As an entree I had Blackened Shrimp Tacos (three delightfully thin taco shells) and served with pickled cabbage and a generous amount of guacamole. My wife had the Croque Madame. The first attempt came out cold, but was quickly replaced with a delicious and warm, serving, and much apologies. Local beers were very good.
Overall a terrific experience.
Quirky place with local fare that combines traditional favorites with a fine dining experience.
The staff from greeting at door thru meal friendly, helpful, and attentive . The menu has something for everyone and always accommodating to any health needs including gluten free options.
The ingredients are so fresh , presented tastefully and each meal delicious by their signature chefs.
It is our “go to” restaurant for any occasion !
What a great night. Food was delicious, Zoltan (the waiter) was great. The manager, Ed, stopped by a few times to check that everything was going well. 5 star service all around
Dinner was good. I so miss the pork chops, and the ribeye for two. Good but not great, sorry
Awesome food, our server, Hannah, was fabulous!! Loved the ambiance- we sat in the “library” and it was such a cool room!! Everything from the decor to the needlepoint pillows made for a wonderful experience! Can’t wait to come again!!
We always love coming to the White Dog Cafe. The food is great, the service is fantastic, and we love the colorful personality of the restaurant. It is a favorite spot every time we visit our children at Villanova .
What a wonderful place! They need to open another one in R.I.!! Decor, ambiance and food all outstanding!!
Server was terrific; but overall food service was slow
Fantastic brunch. Best burger ever. Ask for one of the brighter rooms.
We had a great experience. The waiter was excellent and the food delicious. I love the decor of the restaurant. We were lucky enough to have a table outside and it was a beautiful evening and the atmosphere was perfect. Will be back and recommend to friends.
We had a great meal in the Library Room! The staff was attentive and accommodating. Really great experience!
Oval table for three or more is a bit awkward especially with two people sitting on a bench. Food, service atmosphere were all very good to excellent despite being crowded. Seating was right on time for our reservation. White Dog Cafe is our go-to place and has been for the past three years.
Hannah was an excellent server
Great service and atmosphere. The menu had potential, but many of the items we ordered (4x apps, a cocktail, a mocktail, an entree and a salad) did not deliver. They were unimpressive (deviled eggs) or over-salted (grilled oysters) or odd consistency (bread brought to table was too hard, burrata was not creamy enough). The mushroom flatbread was the best item we ordered. I would give White Dog another chance, though.
Great dinner !it was a relaxed enjoyable dining experience. Food was excellent & our server was friendly & polite
Such a great spot for a brunch date with my boyfriend. The mushroom soup is literally to die for and the French fries are amazing. They also have great cocktails!
The meals are always delicious and different here. Can not go wrong.
