The food was good but not great. The service was not good. I always give the benefit of the doubt on service but they appeared well staffed and it took forever to be served and multiple requests for silverware.
Sorry to say but the service was quite bad. We waited 20 minutes. We’re never greeted by a server. Eventually ordered from the bartender who was passing by. Lack of attention by the service persons continued throughout the evening
I've always have good experience with Willard Hicks. Took our friends to lunch and they liked Willards Hicks as well. Our server Tina was an excellent "people person". She's an asset to your restaurant!!
This was our first time at Willard Hicks. The food was great. The young man who delivered our entrees did not know a filet from a bone in rib eye. It did NOT ruin our experience, but the poor guy needs to be trained better
Drinks Not that good.... a $50.00 steak was over cooked asked for it to be recooked chef said it was med. and would NOT recook it. steak had NO pink and was well done !!!! Noone did anything about it !!!! Bartended was fighting with the waiters in front of customers !!!!! We won't be back anytime soon !!!!
Not sure what is going on at WH??? Used to be one of our favorites and still could be but needs improvement to every aspect. Just went for a business celebration with colleagues and family and were 'greeted' eventually by a host that obviously had better places to be, and mentally was. Our server eventually came to us but the gaps in service were so long it was annoying and there were three servers and only 4 tables seated on a not busy at all Wednesday evening. We waited for everything, apps, drinks, food, silverware. The silverware took so long the food was cold by the time we ate and two of the six meals were wrong (entirely different entree that what was ordered). Too bad, as we really used to look forward to coming here. The owners and management really need to pay attention and make some improvements. Maybe that's why there were only 4 tables?
The food was good. However, the music was a bit loud, and the service was slow.
Food was delicious and the ambiance was very nice. But service was very slow and subpar for the prices.
Very attentive and courteous staff. Beautiful ambience . Food presentation and taste was excellent.
My dinner was cold. I had to get up to find my waiter. It came back 5 minutes later in a smoking hot dish, but it was still cold! Waiter was nice, but very inattentive. $9 for a cold baked potato?!

The food was excellent! The server was distracted since her mother and/or friend was dining outside and she was out visiting them a lot.

The host asked if we minded sitting at a high top table at the bar that was a large table with other guests. We said no thanks because of COVID we didn’t want to share a table. The host sat us there anyway and just said it wasn’t so bad because there was an empty chair between the two parties. By the end of our meal the bar became crowded and we were surrounded by guests to the point where I had to excuse myself because I couldn’t get out of my seat. Our server was amazing and the food was great. Drinks were great too!
The food was good, the waiter was great.
The only outstanding bad experience was a hostess(a chubby one, there were two). She placed us on the first table next to the door. We asked her since the almost half of the tables were empty and we had reservation, can she place us to a different table. She didn’t wanted, she told us everything was reserved. We asked her then, also if possible to place us at some of the 7-8 booths (only one was occupied with 2 adults and one little girl), she told us the booths are for parties larger than 4. We were party of four and until the end of our dinner, I didn’t see more than 4 people in ANY of the booths, almost all booths were occupied by 3 people, rarely four.
To the management, please work with the hostess to improve her skills. After more than 300 restaurant visits this is my first negative review because this hostess attitude was really bad throughout all conversation.
Drinks took almost an hour to get to us. Swordfish was overcooked then brought us another and that was undercooked. Our servicer was a bit snarky and not very welcoming. She did comp us a dessert because she probably knew the service was unacceptable.
Food was excellent. Service was non existent. Like one server for the whole restaurant. Took a long long time.
Very surprised that the service was so poor, in the past it was excellent. Took more than a half hour to get drinks each time throughout dinner. Our waiter disappeared many times and we had to ask numerous times for things and to have empty glasses removed. Appetizers were good but all of our steaks were incorrectly cooked and had to be sent back. Some of our sides did not arrive, we had to wait extra time to get them once we reminded our waiter we ordered them. Overall, lousy experience for a birthday dinner that cost over $1000. Not sure I will be back.
4th time at Willard Hicks in Campbell. My steak good but was not as "tasty" as the first 3 times. Also it seem to be louder than previous visits and the background music mad it worse. Overall I would rate Willard Hicks as "good".
Used to be a great place for cocktails and appetizers, the last three times we’ve been there the drinks are watered down and not real cocktails, mostly juice, even the gin martini was cut with something.. good good but very few option anymore. Sad but I’m looking for a new place to spend my cocktail money..
Very good, would go again. All of the sides and appetizers were excellent and the steaks were perfectly cooked.
We had reservations at 7pm, didn’t get seated until 7:20-7:30. After they seated us they just forgot about us. We didn’t even get water. We had to flag them down to take our orders. Apparently we didn’t have an assigned waiter so no one knew we were there?? Placed our orders around 7:50, our drinks and food didn’t come out until 8:45!!! We made a reservation at 7pm because we had movie plans at 9:30 but with the long wait and no server/slow food we ended up rushing to finish our food. Not enjoyable. The food itself was mediocre. Risotto and scallops was under seasoned and the risotto tasted off. The sticky chicken was salty. A few of the steaks were over seasoned and over cooked.
Went for a girls night. There is a great variety of drinks to choose from! We ordered the tacos for an appetizer and they were great. We ordered salads, loaded potatoes and short ribs. Everyone enjoyed their food. It did take a while for the food to come and for our drinks. We did order dessert which was also delicious. Overall a good time it would have been even better with a more attentive server.
We were seated immediately. The staff was prompt & courteous. The food was great! I really enjoyed the baby back ribs, and I’d definitely order them again. Also, the baked brie was surprisingly good. The calamari steak was a little underwhelming, but it was still good. I loved the atmosphere. Not loud, and perfectly lit.
60th Birthday Celebration.
If you want to dine and chat, this is not the best place. It gets very noisy because of the bar scene.
A special event place for good food and excellent drinks. Excellent steak, fish, and scallops. The risotto was nothing special.
Food has gotten worse and worse. Filet tasted like propane and the Risotto was inedible. We were one of three tables there and two managers sat as we waited 15 minutes to get our check. Hope things improve.
Food took over 2 hours and was served cold. Every entree and side. The butter over the steaks would not melt the steaks were so cold. And the “hot skillet” sides were all cold to the touch. Horrible experience. Will not be going back.
Had a great 3 course meal. 4 if you count drinks as their own food group! Table of 4 devoured the baked brie appetizer which was outstanding. Swordfish, steak, and coconut shrimp all excellent. French onion soup was to die for! Highly recommend this restaurant!
Our table was too small and in a bad location. We did ask for a booth but was told no. My food was fatty
Had the Signature Filet steak and the sweet to savory accompaniments were phenomenal. Whoever put these flavours together is an artist! truly enjoyed the addition of the grilled grapes, bleu cheese, and the Blackberry Demi Glace were brilliant!
I am guessing they are having a problem like other restaurants in hiring enough people. Service was super slow, our waiter seemed super stressed, took forever to get what we ordered. Food was good when we did get it.
Willard Hicks is a perfectly fine, if not pedestrian, steak restaurant. The menu certainly has a typically formulaic set of items for such a restaurant. The food itself was good with a New York steak cooked nearly perfectly with some really even seasoning. The other entrées showed the same care.
The sides, that are billed as “huge”, are most definitely not. I am not a fan of large portions but really, don’t call out “huge” unless they are. The green bean side was really excellent but not overly large. The fries were disappointing & resembled “Jo-Jo” potatoes or overly large steak fries. They were hot but not crisp & they were kind of mealy. I should have chosen another side.
The big issue was our waiter. He seemed a bit nervous as if he was new to waiting tables. He seemed in a rush & that made us feel rushed as well. We weren’t in a hurry for anything & there was no table time limit but still…he didn’t seem to honor our request to “give us 10-15 minutes”
before we ordered entrées as he was back in 3-4 minutes tops. He also seemed to be new to clearing dishes & nearly dropped used silverware all over the table and us.
After enjoying a few cocktails, some really delicious cornbread & our entrées, we passed on dessert as there wasn’t anything we wanted. We asked for the check at that point. The check was delivered & we continued talking for a bit. He came up to the table in a rush & said “you can stay as long as you want but I really need to run your credit card…”. I took that to mean that his shift was over but what restaurant cuts shifts at 9p on a very busy Saturday night? Hand us off to another waiter then?
When he returned for the card, I just asked him if he was rushing because his shift was over. He abruptly replied “yes” & rudely stalked away.
I’m not asking for super special treatment at a restaurant but this behavior was pretty subpar & kind of spoiled our evening. Everything but this had been really pretty good.
I don’t think we’ll return.

The service is not the best as the waiters are always serving too many tables and always seem rushed. They just don’t have the time to spend with guests for a truly memorable experience. That needs work at this Reataurant.
Also when there busy they rush you a bit and always give away your tables that you request. So be careful if that.
But great place overall.
Extremely inattentive service. The bar bill would have been much larger if someone was paying attention. Never got a water refill.
